I barely gave it time considering I pretty much quit after running into personal issues (building ideology clashes with the 501 coalition, anger at general incompetence, and misguided direction such as all the lore builds as you said). Your Archdragon Peak build made a pretty sweet event by the way, although I lost time and quit the ET before I could flesh out the event line.

I may have snuck in and had a snoop around, it looked pretty darn cool. I was happy it got used. Thanks!

It's now the Titan's Seat, the current home of the Arch-Drakaar Azdromoth. I can assure you it's been put to use!

The problem wasn't building. The map was just far too large for that team to handle. It was known from the start that the build team was quite small; but in comparison to that map? It would've taken at least half a year to fill every plot. Again, it was mainly based on size.

Though regardless of that all, you don't need structures to be able to release lore. The lore behind Axios is shocking; there's nothing. Half of what made Axios not a catastrophic failure, was player lore. The other half was competent player settlements. I don't mean to be poking at yourself or the LT, but when you sit there and try to fault one part of the map development while not looking into the others, and then putting the lore on a pedestal? Yikes. If you need prove in my claims, then what ever happened to the obelisks?

I speak on the lore because that's the thing I knew most about. Everyone knows the map is too big, and I did make that claim even before the map was released. I don't place it on a pedistral, but there are two questions about lore in this thread, one of them having 70% of players responding that they wanted more lore events. So I stated what I know, and what I know is that many things that were suppose to be build that were planned well in advanced, never were.

Reason as to why there's currently no map lore, simple. Nothing was built, and the LT got replaced, and after being replaced, scrapped everthing. Right now the lore remaining is simple, Elves used to live around there somewhere. There are some other stuff as well, nothing compared to what was planned.

But, might as well talk about other things I find bad about how the map was designed. Besides the map being too big, the tiles system being incredibly easy to be abused, allowing all the 4 main populated nations (Elves (Haelun'or and wood elves), Oren and dwarves) to start all in the same island (the different maps/islands were made to lower lag by dividing the players through different maps. Has to do with how the limitations on MC work), not implementing GM shops, horses not being able to be tp'ed through portals (one of the ideas was to travel with horses, not very possible), and removal of all skill exp. Most of those are just opinion.

Edit: About the particular example of the obelisks, I assume the current LMs scrapted it.

@Jistuma those GM shops singlehandedly destroyed what little there is of a player economy.

Theres also the current problem with not enough money actually going into the economy.  It was removed but an alternative wasn't added.

Also the fact that the only purpose of money is to be on money top.

Axios is very poorly made, both the terrain and the organics. Much of map looks warped and rushed. Hire a proper map maker like Dark James or someone from PMC. Don't rely solely on ET builders to do builds on the map, there are builders outside the ET that have exceptional building talent. The more the merrier.

And the most importantly, don't release the map during the school year or near the school year like Axios. This is the main reason lotc experienced a huge shunt of activity as soon as summer ended. The best time to release a map is right before summer begins!

The primary issue with the map presently is the same issue you guys have with every map. You lot (not you as in the current administration, just the administration as a whole) put so much work into the novelty of the map that you don't bother to think it through. Three different maps and three different islands was a stupid idea from the beginning; but you wanted to pull it off because it seemed cool on paper. Now nobody uses the other two maps you worked on, Tahn is still too frigging big so we have enormous tracts of empty unknown space, and all three of the islands are worse off aesthetically because you spread your effort. If you can't afford to fly through every chunk of the map and make sure that it's beautiful, fitting, scaleable, and appropriate for role play, events, or settlements you need to make the map smaller; because chances are if you're not going there nobody is. It's just wasted space.

* Last map they made it too big and compensated with fast travels.

* This map they made it too big again and, out of scorn for us rejecting their big map novelty, just removed and limited fast travels.

* Now fast travels are back, we're just avoiding the problem, and everybody loses.

Ideally we would be on a map that's small and aesthetic enough not to require fast travels, but have them anyway for lazy people to preserve capital RP. None of that "across the ocean" bullshit either. One continent. Carts to each place. CT in the center. Beautiful roads with settlements, inns, and event areas speckled across. Rivers and bridges. Areas of natural bounty and tiles w/ regenerating mine or forest/field access able to be claimed for grinding, farming, etc capable of being contested by groups with more players. Inspire competition.

WE WANT ATHERA 2.0

I enjoyed Athera, but that may be because I joined early on in it and it has nostalgia due to that. However, I did enjoy everything being walk-able, as I was more inclined to explore while now on Axios and Valior I just sit the wood elven city all the time. My ideal would probably be an Athera-size or slightly bigger, because some cities (IE Leyulin and Halenuor) were right on top of eachother it was a bit annoying being attacked/kidnapped/harassed during the war while walking back home. I also really didn't get the lore for moving here, and it just feels samey every move, though maybe that's because I had activity drops in both late Athera and late Valior. The last two maps have been way to big and I really feel we need to downsize to increase rp, as right now as I understand it each race is isolated from most of the others and that kills rp. I like how in Athera you could have a band of orcs or army of men walk into Leyulin or Ceruin and cause rp, or just meeting people on the road to the next inn or city or while exploring. It caused great rp and, at least for me, was much more enjoyable.

I think Vailor was Isles, and Axios was Isles. Next one should be 1 or 2 continents as we have had Isles twice in a row. Also in Athera I remember there was a pub between Savoie and Petrus along the road, and baronies too, but there is not that with this map. Fast travels have contributed to this.
