Harri 4815 Share Posted December 13, 2016 LotC’s Holiday Squad Off Time: December 18th, 10pm GMT What is it?: The idea here is pretty simple. We’ll be holding a 4v4 PVP Contest. The specifics of how it will work will depend on the number of entries, but it will likely be tournament styled with a bracket. It’ll be arena-based (the arenas might look familiar), and gear will be provided. Kits: The reason you don’t need gear is because this will be kit based. There will be four kits, each a different class, though the specific details will be released closer to the competition. Each team member will use one of the kits, and none will be used twice. We’ll be testing them for balance as well (which is why they’re TBA). Prizes: We’ll be rewarding the top three teams. Prizes will be as follows. 1st place - 4,000 minas and a unique holiday item. 2nd place - 2,000 minas. 3rd place - 1,000 minas. These are subject to change, we may sweeten the deal a bit later. When?: It says at the top, but it’s on December 18th (this Sunday) at 10pm GMT. We’ll make sure it doesn’t go too late for you GMT folks. How do I sign up?: Post below with your team of four and a team name. Nobody can be on more than one team, so please post exact MC names. NOTICE: We will only be using Human persona cards, so people do not abuse buffs and such :NOTICE Ty to Ski for writing the post for me! Updated info Due to amounts of people interested, and to add some more events to the night, we're going to be opening up a 1v1 tournament too! Sign up by stating you'd like to join below and you'll be entered! The prizes will be the same as the 4v4 tournament, but instead will be 1/4th of the total. 1v1 kits will be standardised and will have a good mix of everything built into them. I was more referring to races such as spectre, necrolyte and constructs which all still have their buffs, so yeah the human only personas would be a good thing to include. ? molly molly molly 1334 Share Posted December 13, 2016 well, i assumed it was staff endorsed since u are an et, and it is pinned to the announcements on the front page, plus u get a 4,000 minas prize, along with a special prize for winnin' first place. if someone new were to come onto the server, and that's the first thing they see, that there's a pvp tournament, they would be confused! they say "why is this pvp here!!! i thought this was a roleplay server." don't people come here to roleplay, i know i do in order to escape my totally eventful life my stupidity aside, i just feel pvp shouldn't be so promoted as it is :'/ it's an easy alternative to rp if youre good at pvp, and not so much rp, and obviously it detracts from ppl's rp experience yea things would take a while if everything was rp'd, but isn't that what the server's basis is? to be a roleplay server? idk, i'm voicing my concerns, i'd just like to see rp become more prevalent than a pvp rooted basis on an rp server Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
