I believe I would be able to set whoever came to me going in the right direction, tell them how things generally work in the nation (As I highly doubt any new player will instantly wish to become a cleric), and just be someone they can ask for help in general, if they don't understand something about the server, be it mechanical or roleplay-based. I personally believe that once you start someone off with their new persona, they can take over controls, and come to you for help, without you having to constantly bug them about how to properly emote. They will either figure it out themselves, or hopefully, if you've made a good impression on them for the rest of the community, simply ask whomever they see first for help on that subject. I might send him or her a several page or paragraph explanation of what has happened that hasn't been updated to lore or wiki just yet to use for OOC purposes. I think I would do great in helping new players on the server because I've nearly been a part of this community for about ten months now. Also, since my RP personas have some time off because of waiting periods in game for events, I will have plenty of free time to help new players to the server and community. I might also help him or her through skype and forums to help them in ideas they may have for their persona. It was maybe 400 blocks from spawn and on the way to the crossroads that led to most of the major nations and towns. I had many players who came through that were brand-new and gave them somewhere to stay, taught them the basics, roleplayed with them, and even made a few skins for people. Now I would try and teach them about the race's society, maybe get them a skin if they needed one, help them get into a clan or other social group. Like if their Orcs I'd try to get them into the culture, the rules of honor and all that. I'd also do my best to help them with roleplay if they are new to it. If they aren't I'd try and help them improve their role playing. When I started I didn't really have anyone to go off of. So it was hard to find someone until I had made some friends within the server. Not only would I be the player's guide, I'd also try to befriend them and get them immersed in the server.
