The New and Improved Villainy Blacklist System

Greetings! We will be changing how the villainy blacklist system works, this system is being implemented because of the way villainy was handled in the past, in the previous system after an act of villainy you would have been banned and/or blacklisted for bad villainy with only a timer and an appeal system before you can do villainy roleplay again. This meant that so many villains were still uneducated on how to create good villainy roleplay and kept running through the system unknowing of what they may have done wrong.
This system aims to fix that by teaching the players with blacklists how to conduct proper villain roleplay and allows them to come back into the server fresh with new ideas and ethos for how to produce beneficial role play for both parties.

The process ensures each player is taken through the villainy rules in order to be unblacklisted. This process will be completed by a GM and will take roughly 30 minutes to an hour. If they broke a certain rule the GM will go over that a bit more specifically with them on that, after it is complete there will be a short test at the end using random questions. There is a pass grade and if the player fails they will be taken through the process again.

I have a feeling there's gonna be a waiting time like the DMV.

A great way to educate but I feel as if it seems the GM team is starting to spread themselves a bit too thin at this point.

When is it my turn to get better at my rp?

My only concern is that players will learn the process to get unblacklisted and just memorise/recite it off by heart to get off their blacklist quickly. I still think there should be some sort of minimum wait time before they can appeal a blacklist and take the 'test' to be unblacklisted.

Please also keep in mind it's very easy to act good in a set up test/scenario, and is very different to a real life one.

when you stop resulting to pvp and actually try roleplaying

I suppose the one giving the rest would come down to the GM that originally blacklisted them or would it fall to the Villian Team?

Hopefully not.

Yeah, the test aims to have different questions, and again; if players have memorised the rules then that's the point. If they continue to break the blacklist while knowing they are breaking the rules the consequences will be harsher.

Woo. I like the change. Though with what Harrison said, I hope the blacklist timers still apply. An idea might be not having the test too linear, that way people have to give at least semi-genuine responses if they were to stoop to that level. Like perhaps just making them answer a few scenarios and what have you. Just an idea.

Yeah, they will. Blacklisted players have to complete this in order to complete their blacklist.

It would fall on any GM that wants to do it, preferably the GM that ordered the blacklist, but if that GM was no longer on the team then yes, the villain team would handle it most likely.

Poor Villainy is a huge issue but one that can be so easily resolved. Hopefully this helps toward that process.

Immediate appeal would be a good system to implement for first time offenders.

But if you go through this system and continue to demonstrate the same poor behavior that led to your blacklist, a wait time should be applied in which the player is unable to do villain roleplay for that set time, and then may appeal through this system afterwards.

What was wrong with the system before? It seemed to me the people who were blacklisted most were repeat offenders who at that point knew the rules but just didn't care enough to abide by them.

This is the system I talked to LadyRebecca about with Cablam. Glad to see the GM's are continuing to rip the ideas from the players still.
