A Declaration of Onyx

On this Day, 4th of Sun’s smile, 1623

For far too long has our kin been split between many groups with no true leader to lead our kin as a whole. For far too long have the Mali’ker been left without a presence in Axios. The great fires that once burned within the spirits of the ‘Ker race have now dwindled. The ‘Ker race as a whole has been dwindling; we are not the proud race we once were. I have seen no progress or attempts to gather ourselves and become a truly united ‘Ker nation.

On more than one occasion, we have tried to talk peace with the Mali’ker of the Onyx Enclave of Ker’nor, as have the Chieftains before me. For far too long, they have shut down peace talks and neglected the idea of unity. The Mali’ker of Ker’nor, have become puppets to the Mali’ame, simply pawns in their game to be used however they see fit. It was why my kin broke off long ago. To form our own free state of ‘Ker with the ideals of leading ourselves and being independent.

Nonetheless, the Des’nox and Vincrute families are welcome to join the ker of Leyu’celia and prosper with us, with the exception of the ker by the name of Mithius Dalma. Also known as the race traitor, who with the help of the Orenian Empire, slaughtered many innocent ker. Mithius is hereby banished from our lands until proven otherwise.

The Warhawkes have aimed for peace and unity for many years alongside many clans. We established a home for ourselves and soon after opened our gates to any and all ker to live among us, regardless of if they’re Warhawkes or not. Throughout the years we flourished, making a society of ker to live however they so wish. With the growth of the Warhawkes and Leyu’celia, we have come to have many ker and clans that reside within our town that only wish for the wellness of the Ker race.

In light of these events…

I, Erolas Ba’ikana hereby declare myself the Rightful Prince of the Mali’kers. With the backing of the Warhawkes and the Clans of Leyu’celia we shall make the ker race flourish once more and rise back up from the ashes.

Erolas Ba’ikana,

Thalrian signs his own name on the parchment, turning to face Erolas soon after with a faint huff, "Now we pray that people can see reason. I stand behind you, llir."

Grinning, the 'ker would happily continue serving people at the tavern, nodding

"This is good. It's been a long time coming"

Remus nods his head upon reading the missive, a small smile breaking upon his features. "Erolas has done well for his people. May the Warhawkes and the elves who follow them continue to prosper."

Echeche Ba'ikana would continue smoking his green in the bokolo fields "You have my full support cousin" he'd smirk "Long live the ker race"

Ella Dune sits in the Leyu’celia tavern, idly swirling the ale in her mug as she thoughtfully murmurs out "I like to go to Ker'Nor sometimes and listen to my voice echo around in the emptiness. Reminds me of a mine that ceased to reveal veins... This place is cute though and with considerably less risk of falling off a ledge. Hopefully Leyu'celia continues to prosper."

Nerrin Delevoye let out a snort from where he slumped, a seat opposite the barkeep of the Leyu'celia tavern, he'd grumble a couple misgivings to himself, before mumbling more openly to the people around him; "Personal aggravations aside, he's done a marvelous for us. If  the Ker'nor, Onyx, ebon-whatever can see a speck of sense, its people might share the same benefits Erolas has brought us."

"I remembah w'en t'is lad and 'is 'family' was homeless... Had to take 'em under Urguan..." Torvin would smoke his pipe. "Good toimes"

"Strange, I've never once been met by them for talks of peace," says Prince Ganzorig Vincrute, safely at home in Ker'nor.

"I imagine Ganzorig will do what he sees fit, welcome to leave the Dominion and welcome to stay in it. What happens outside the realm of mali'ame isnt my concern. I wonder where this undertone of hostility came from, though. We've been living peacefully next to the Warhawkes for decades now since we donated a large plain of our land to them to erect their new home. I wonder if this is somehow about Leilatha and the spook-man." Artimec mused to himself while rubbing the back of his neck, before going back to painting under dim candlelight.

A pair of blue eyes stare out towards the horizon as the sun rose in the early morning. A large, burly man of light complection lets out a sigh before raising his hatchet into the air and sending it down upon a hunk of wood for the early day fire.

Hunting season was approaching.

Neci Vincrute, Matriarch of the Vincrutes, stood at the docks. "Now this.... This is a quiet I can enjoy.", she sighed as the more youthful inhabitants threw themselves into the pond then laughed.

I do believe your chieftain must enjoy his flights of fancy if he's told the younger generation he left Ker'nor of his own volition. The original warhawke banishment came after repeatedly fighting against Oren and the Dominion in Vailor, coupled with their black-blooded elder's threats against my wife. This led to a trial, one I knew would end in bloodshed. Sure enough as the trial came closer so too did the dwarven troops and dunamis mercenaries. However the combined forces of Ker'nor, Laureh'lin and Haelun'or drove them off. It was never what I wanted. Rei was my original choice to success me. But it was done and aside from the odd skirmish, I never saw them again. Not until nearly an elven year later since the banishment. When Rei had come to my gates with a pair of human cutthroats that harassed my gates for weeks. The back and forth began anew. But it was when the silent twin had come to me that I began to see more to speak more to the hawkes of old, remissness about more enjoyable times, even letting them in on occasion. But when we had come to Axios and I had given the orders to leave the gates open we were attacked. My pregnant wife dragged out of her home by humans and 'Ker alike. Had our emerald kin not arrived then it would have been a butchering. The Mali'Ame have never forced or asked anything of us, it is why we've remained with them. Nether, besides Art, I don't believe many 'Ame are older than me I remember most of them when they were children. But you Eloras. I must admit, are one of the few hawkes I've spoken to and surprisingly enjoyed. Perhaps you are better at veiling your disgust but by that virtue, you've already taken the steps beyond your previous chieftain. If you wish to speak, hear my words of advice, you are as welcome in Ker'nor and my temple as you were when you resided here.
