You don't need to pay. It's donations to the server for quality of life things.

No one expects you to pay anything for any of these perks. You donate because you want to give a donation out of charity to the server.

 

You aren't buying anything, it's a donation. Anything the staff gives you for these donations is pretty much out of kindness. They could, in all rights, give all of us nothing if they wanted.

If I didn't need to pay this would be available to a much lower tier. Nexus wouldnt' cost 10$ to transfer experience nor would it take a full week and a half of non-stop grinding to get that high. 200$ USD for this is unacceptable, for the price of four persona slots I could buy a PS4 used.

I'm not trying to defend it or anything. I'm just saying it's more quality of life then anything. I do agree with you.

If the dev's did everything that the community asked for we wouldn't have most of the commands and things that we have now. The community has been asking for several plugins that the development team hasn't developed or whatever. Why? It takes time. They serve us, they make the server better. TBH, just stop being so whiney. The developers do all this work, for what? PEX? A nice tag? No. They do it to try and please us as a community. So please, just stop. And, we wonder why all of these staff members leave. Nobody appreciates anything.

I really wasn't serious, but in all honesty, this is a bit of a lazy plugin. I understand that they work hard for it, and I greatly appreciate it, but the fact stands- this feature doesn't apply to a good 75% of the community, probably more. There's just so many bugs to be fixed, mechanics the players want changed. This update is a fun little addition, but it feels a bit unrelated to... everything.

To give my 2 cents.

 

This is honestly a really nice plugin, something that just makes players experience on LOTC more fluent and easy when it comes to changing skins. However, i must agree with some of the people in this thread. The way that gaining access to this feature is priced seems oddly high. Having players donate 100 dollars to gain access to this feature is ludicrous. And i get that it isn't "paying" for the feature, it is "donating" to the server we all love. But still, if the staff want to incentivize more people to donate and keep the server running, features like this one should be lower on the VIP perks list. Probably starting with 1 skin slot at Gold and then going up from there.

From what I understand about how they're able to do this they have to limit it. Because for a skin to be used it has to be hashed (Approved) by Mojang's servers and so what they do is have an account that acts as a bit of storage account in away where all the skins go through. The problem is Mojang basically only allows you to change your skins a few hundred times per hour before they just stop you. Meaning the whole function would break under heavy load if a lot of players just switched back and forth and once it breaks everyone would be stuck for awhile. My understanding isn't perfect but that's somewhat the gist of why at least all players, for now, wouldn't be able to do it.
