You betrayed those who entrusted you years prior in selling their safety and privacy to the maleficar of the realm and spurred the exodus that led to the erection of Devirad. Indeed it is through your carelessness that Veris' populace suffered and dwindled, you surrendered your throne and faked your death in what I can only assume to be the cowardice of a man afraid to face the consequence of his own actions. It would be immoral and dangerously irresponsible of myself to allow you a second opportunity to foray into the spotlight and cause your people further suffering. What decision that remains lies with Her Majesty Ella Dune of Veris, and Devirad shall defend her claim and the decisions she makes for Veris with steel and blood if need be. Were you worthy of any titles you claim you will cease your demands and surrender to the decision of one courageous enough to maintain their realm. The choice is yours, choose wisely.

As a former resident of Cythral, I can inform you that our people have languished further under the rule of the ineffectual poppet Ella than you could possibly imagine. Our streets have fallen silent, our markets become barren of wares. The virtue of public office has been degraded by the placement of corrupt, incompetent, and otherwise unfit individuals in vital seats in the council. 

 

I can only imagine you have written this guarantee out of sheer misunderstanding or misplaced spite, as the leader of Devirad could not possibly, given full knowledge, pledge his support to the same woman who just Saint's days prior forged an alliance with the Ascended.  I therefore exhort you to reconsider your position in this conflict. I cannot imagine you have deliberated with the Verisi government, as its own Minister of Diplomacy is himself a former member of the Ascended order.

 

Whatever promises have been made to you by the ineffectual marionette Ella Dune, or any of the debased, morally unsound, briberous officials that sit at her side, I can assure you they pale in comparison to the ruin she secretly hopes to bring upon you.
