A Declaration of Repentance

[!] A note is pinned by the docking area for the ships.

I, Siegmund Adler, made a mistake.  In the Year of the Lord Our GOD, 1642, I led an expedition into a native camp on the island of Maueriku.  Through circumstances I wish I could have prevented had I spoken up, we fought the native population of the island and captured them.  Originally my goal was to treat them humanely, if in captivity, until we left, whence we would release them.  However, the situation ever worsened.

We brought their Chief to our ship with the good intent.  To negotiate and discuss.  But, the prisoners kept coming.  A band of Orcs claimed ownership of the Chief and his daughter.  In the hopes of avoiding further bloodshed, the Chief offered his people up as slaves.

I did this.  It was through my lust for exploration that these people found their fate.  I wish to urge all of you, do not continue my mistakes.  We should treat them as they are; brothers and sisters in Humanity.  We should welcome them into our society and integrate them.  We should show them GOD and His light.  I urge you, all of you; do not continue what I put in motion.

Signed,

Siegmund Adler, Chancellor of Chambery

Alifer Amice laughs hysterically at whom he views to be an idiot "You speak of enslavement as if you yourself are not attempting to do the same thing. As a man of the red faith and an outsider to your faith I can see that you exchange one shackle for another under the guise of your beloved GOD. You claim to give them salvation yet you only promise a more advanced form of slavery, at least the orcs are honest about it. If you truly feel guilty for what you have done, there's a knife that I left beside your ledger.. You know what to use it for I will be waiting for your corpse shortly oh dear lucienist."

Ser Rakim reads over the declaration and nods in some approval.

"Good on you, Chancellor Alder. Very few men admit to their mistakes. I'm rather disappointed with the words spoken by some of my brothers that they wish to crucify the savages despite these people never having the opportunity to learn of GOD. While I've no qualms with teaching them, I'd much rather MOVE ON and find the new homeland. Not these tiny islands."

All of a sudden he notes he is speaking to himself in his quarters and prays GOD gives him sanity in his old age.

Saeed Ibn Malek Shakes his head "HARAM! Three shall be punished on the day of judgment, one of the three is one who sells a free person and consumes the wealth from it." he says hearing the remarks of the lucienist "Allah forbids coercion....But to the man who admitted the mistake....Allah Bless you and allah knows your intentions and knows what was in your heart....Pray to Allah for forgiveness and be at peace, and then strive to fix your mistakes, go now with peace." he states with a warm smile
