I hope you find solace in your padded tomb, and when the hounds come clawing at the door, and your life- a sword, rests by your hand. That you find rest in the eternal nothingness for your inability to act.’

Psyhamirys to a Haelunorian Politician.

And so a meeting was held, a great call to all the Mali’aheral, of discontent and anger at the inability of the Silver State. Thus a group came together and found solace in the teachings and beliefs on purity, and the failings of their race; their leader Psyhamirys. An ‘aheral of a bygone era come unto the fold to lead his people to a new thriving age of prosperity and action.”

Cast out from Haelun’or for their belief that martial combat is not inherently impure. The Red Riders chose to don armour and weapons, in order to destroy any and all impurity in the world. They wear frightening and ghoulish armour in order to both spread fear at their incoming ride, and for their victims to know who it is that vanquishes them.

The Red Riders were formed in 1651 by Arcann Silvertongue and Pyshamirys of Gaekrin. Arcann took leadership initially, however as he was far more of a scholar rather than what was needed: A warrior, he soon ceded the mantle to Pyshamirys after acknowledging his superior experience and wisdom. Pyshamirys quickly starting garnering many of his kind to his banner, instilling upon them his beliefs and virtues.

I thought he’d get me I did! Thought I’d see me last. Tha’ great griffin blocking out the sun with it’s wings. Feastin’ on the corpses o’ the villagers. Then they came in they did, armour clad folk on silver steeds. Charged on with lances at tha’ ready. Slew the beast and some ghouls as well. The men around lift tankards in celebration crying out ‘Now all praise these warriors of purity, these bloodied elves.’

A Belvitz farm-hand first colloquialized the term ‘bloodied elves’.

Regarding the purity of the Mali’aheral & those of the Bloodied Elves:

The Mali’aheral are the people of Larihei, of whom follow the lifestyle of elmaehr’sae hiylun’ehya. This phrase directly translates into progress and health--a phrase in which dictates the lifestyle a mali’aheral would pursue due to their belief of purity, a concept that could only be achieved through elmaehr’sae hiyun’ehya. Their fervent following of purity is done in order to achieve perfection--they consider themselves the only people capable of achieving perfection. And to achieve so, they preserve their purity.

The progress aspect of the phrase refers to the requirement that a mali’aheral should never become stagnant. Their lives should be lead with the necessary ambition to progress both themselves as well as the High Elves as a whole. In their path to perfection, stagnation is a stain of impurity in a race that should revere progress and knowledge.

In contrast to the traditional ways of elmali’aheral, the Bloodied Elves seek the defense of purity in a more forceful way. In their search of progress, they acknowledge the necessity of violence in their path. Though the traditionalists of the ‘aheral abhor the idea of violence and shun it, the Bloodied Elves embrace it as a tool of necessity to safeguard the purity of the Mali’aheral.

Health is regarding the physical as well as mental purity of the mali’aheral. The ‘aheral believe that they have the capability of achieving perfection, and that belief stems from the bathing of their ancestors within the Golden Pools.

  • Physical purity: Thus, as it is in their genes, a pure aheral is prohibited in willingly altering their natural physical forms in any way. Such is why they scorn the mixing of blood with other races--even if merely with another sub-race of elves. The mixing of blood is considered an impure act due to tarnishing blessed blood received from the bathers of the Golden Pools.

  • To follow the acceptance of necessary violence, the Bloodied elves consequently found that scars earned in defense of purity to be a token of pride. Though an alteration of their physical bodies--the scars were taken in the defense of purity. No longer will physical deformation gained through the defense of purity be shunned and looked upon in pity.

  • Mental purity: Mental purity refers to the point of view of an ‘aheral. To remain mentally pure is to follow the guidelines set by the maehr’sae hiylun’ehya. Those of mental impurity are usually judged so due to having strayed from the path of traditional purity. For those of the bloodied elves, the views of the traditionalist mali’aheral are considered stagnant and outdated--a dead culture that must be renewed into something more.

The two aspects of their belief in purity requires balance. To progress whilst disregarding health results to a loss of the blessed ancestry they so revere--whilst health without progress is a waste of said blessed ancestry.

Regarding Magik and Purity- The Bloodied Elves view any and all kinds of magik an impurity due to their physical effect on the body, and the countless times they have been seen to corrupt many an ‘aheral, causing them to become greedy, power hungry and lead into wickedness.

This also pertains to holy magiks as the Bloodied Elves consider selling your soul to an AengulDaemon to be an act of mental impurity. In fact they hold much disdain for the AengulDaemons in general, thinking them evil and conniving in the wannant havoc and menace they repeatedly reek upon the world.

Brothers and sisters of the Mali'Aheral seek Pyshamirys out for the salvation of our race.

Ne'las' eyes travel over the document, his features emotionless and calm.

"They expect to represent purity, when they deem maehrsae hiylun'ehya 'elmaehrsae hiylun'ehya'. I would refuse to follow a group who cannot comprehend simple Elvish. Secondly, there is no such thing as an 'AengulDaemon'. There are AenguDaemon's. Disappointing, altogether. Nonetheless, this 'Pyshamirys', shall be cast in gold and put on display for all mali'alta to see."

Cinh sighs, sitting back in a chair in his kitchen as he reads over the letter, commenting to his wife, "They act as if we say fighting is impure. We don't. We say an excess of it is. Nothing is wrong with defending yourself, but it should stop at that. No going out and picking fights." He sighs, leaning forward in his chair once more to continue his breakfast.

"Kae in Mabida." Ugandus clicks out, writing a note and aiming to stick it on Ne'las's back

Ilae sits by sipping tea aggressively.

"Haha whoops. Forgot to re-read it. Hopefully no one is petty enough to criticize based on a dead language. Haha imagine that."

Alice looks up from the fire she had been sitting next to, an ant pacing up and down her right index finger. "I hate violence, but...." She stands, returning the ant to the rest of it's colony. "Maybe this would be a way to learn? Knowledge comes in all forms." She watches the ants go about their daily routine, a genuine smile on her face. "To be so simple, so routine. The world could learn something from animals."

"These illiterate savages dare embarrass our superior breed by spreading this abhorrent display of being. They speak of Progress yet in declaring their love for violence only prove to show the opposite-- merely devolving, and sharing the same traits of a primal beast to solve their problems."

Sohaer Cenwall would read the missive in the tavern to his other oligarchic companions.

"Lethargy is not superiority." Psyhamirys would comment to himself as he contemplated the failed state of Haelun'or.

"You sound angry!" murmurs Ambrose before rising from his seat in the tavern and striding out.

Cinh pours a few drinks for other patrons, glancing over to Cenwall as he makes the rude comment, "I don't think insults help anything, llir. Simply screaming 'You're wrong because I say you're bad' doesn't hold much merit to.... well, anything, and just paints you as exactly what they think you are. With all due respect, they perhaps act a bit extreme, but they are by no means impure, unless they actively seek out violence."  The tavernkeep moves back into his kitchen and works on a meal that someone ordered.

Aelthir wonders what a group of militant Elves who value soldiering through traditional combat and who mistrust magic due to its physical deminishings and corruptive mental capacity might look like. "Oh," he comments after a moment. "That's us."

Athedil sat in the inn at the cloud temple, enjoying his time away from Haelun’or and his former duties as Maheral of the Mali’aheral. As he came upon the notice and took some time to read it over, he came to laugh so hard he almost choked on his wine - which would have been such a shame, seeing as it was one of his last bottles from Axios - He quickly sought to regain his composure, making sure no one seemed to be eyeing him strangely. “My, my, so first they perform acts of savagery in mutilating one of their own kin, and now they want to act like they have even the faintest idea what maehr'sae hiylun'ehya is. To think these fools lived in Haelun’or during our more enlightened era, it seems they learned little. Ah, how I wish we just ended this idea that maehr’sae means progress, it may be the closest translation into the common language, but its real meaning is the creation of knowledge and wisdom, so it means progress specifically in that area.” He shook his head lightly as he spoke to himself, “Also, what is this with dressing up like spooks, these people are odd indeed. Perhaps they were dropped on their heads as children, but then again, one of Iat’s children seem to be amongst them, he doesn’t seem like the type to drop his kids, and the statistical chance of all of them being dropped is also quite small.”

(Sculpture) Visaj, Eledar. Asulon, (1365).

Odessa Visaj paces out of her residence, into the Haelun'or square. She looks as healthy as ever, any clearly noticable traces from the assault had disappeared. She wears a new dark gray cloak after having transformed the rest of the ruined dress into a new outfit. She shifts into the middle of the square, offering a respectful nod to the present 'aheral and a short "karin'ayla". She seems slightly absent, gaze wandering and eyes slightly narrowed. She plants her heavy gaze on the Sohaer Cenwall, raising a hand in an obvious gesture to gather the attention of him and the others. Following a second of silence, she raises her voice, clear, but with more intensity than usually. Following the short speech, letters are sent to several contacts of the State, most certainly reaching The Bloodied Elves in their barracks.

"Beauty shames the ugly. Death shames the living. Purity shames the impure -- and the Ideal of it shames all of us. Without shame, another grave danger emerges: that of permanent stagnation and absolute uselessness. Without shame, there is no will to improve, to refine, to purify -- to progress. The Mali'ata of The Bloodied Elves are dangerous, not because of their impurity, but because of their shamelessness. Their absolute immunity to shame is not just proof of the mental disorder they possess, but also seem to indicate something worse; impure blood. No true descendant of Larihei and his compatriots; blessed through the golden pools, can fall to such a distant place from his way.

A band, whose leader and present members, had no second thoughts about mutilating a Mali'thill, can not call themselves protectors of purity. The impact of magic on Mali'aheral body and soul is well recorded. and the tradition goes back many centuries. Most of our prominent figures of purity, alive or dead, have practiced magic; a skill they have mastered and used for the progression of Mali'aheral science, knowledge and culture. The actual act of cutting a Mali'thill -- spilling pure blood; is the true danger for our kin. Be it from a lesser - or fellow Mali. Your hypocrisy is clear and an affront to what your claimed ancestors helped build.

All Mali who join the ranks of these bandits will be declared impure and their names remembered in gold -- for an eternity.

Maehr'sae Hiylun'ehya!

Okarir'maehr

Odessa Visaj"

Cinh blinks at hearing Odessa's announcement, "So, she knows she can't actually make that proclamation, right? She's not the Maheral."
