The Community Manager: Who, What, and Why

Recommended Posts

While not super active (commenting wise) in some of the more intense debates seen on the Forums, marimba is an awesome dude and has experience under his belt. I think he's a good pick for the job and I'm excited to see how he'll fill the shoes.

Marim is a great man and would make a even greater Community Manager, I wish to see what he puts up to the plate. ?

This announcement contains a dire prognosis over the server and the administration. I do not doubt Marimba's work for a bit. However.

The fact none of the administrators have the standing or dedication to become a face of their own is ridiculous, and so is the prospect of the community manager excluded from their shenanigans.

Instead of letting marimba take all the slack just because he’s a steamer how about you step up and start making some changes.

Stop throwing a groovy goy under the bus and deal with the actual concerns against you and co. by looking at what the majority has an actual issue with. In case you haven't noticed, this isn't about needing someone from staff to actually talk to them in a sensitive manner though that itself is obviously an issue, especially with you, but this is about demanding actual change and not covering yourself being dragged down by putting an awesome face in front of you.

There's a certain statement made by making BG anything less than a full admin. Community Admin always came with the red tag, yet now justifying the course of the server is going to be handled by someone who doesn't get to decide it, and the person who is supposed to represent the players won't have equal voting power? What is that saying, really?

In private circles it's known that I denounce and oppose any attempt to erect more layers of bureacracy. And here we are with yet another one.

Moved to The Great Library. It shall be sorted into the appropriate category shortly.

If you feel this is a mistake, please contact myself or any FM and we'll restore it.
