((Not my point, the point is that I don't think guards would slaughter a man like that if imprisonment was actually a viable option.

The night brought such a silence that the crackle of the campfire was all that could be heard, like a demented natural harmony. Flames thrashed at the wood, and the red sparks swept amid the cool breeze. Olgierd sat close on a mossy log, the Black Reiter's rugged and scarred visage heated warm and his back cold, mesmerized, relaxed. Numbed and bloodied hands were held out for defrosting, whilst his attention was to the fire, breath blowing slowly into the red ashes. Within minutes the coals glowed ocherous, and the light cast by the flames whirled across the dark trunks, twisting and curling in obscure shapes to provide a small radius of radiance.

"War was on the brink of breaking out among our company and the Kingdom of Elvenesse because of this. t'was a rash decision, a foolish one; but the priest's persistence in holding his ground was even more so. . . Shame."

"... Well what did he expect?" an elf would mutter, tossing a paper to the side as she'd kick up her legs and cross them on the desk before herself.

"Zkah'z ah God? Zkah'z ahn Azpekt..?" An oblivious orc inquires to his brothers, maw clenched upon a roasted piece of halfling femur.

"Our thoughts were not always aligned, Father. However, you were a man of peace. One blessed by GOD. May fallen heroes of yore guide you on your path to the Seven Skies." Aldonza Castelo would bow her head. A solemn silence weaves the air about her as she mourns the holy Vice Chancellor.

Such news would leave Rosyra Belladonna shaking her head in what only could be taken for disappointment. "Poor biggun shall nevah know tha true way o' tha Aspec's."

Marco shakes his head in disgust at the utter cowardice of the elven pagans, "Go on kill our unarmed clergymen, soon you shall pay for your crimes against GOD in blood, and nothing shall remain of your peoples but ash. DEUS VULT!"

Kalina would sit back in her chair in front of a crackling fireplace after hearing of the event. Thoughts of what-ifs and how-thens would be racing through her mind. She'd lick her lips, dried by the fire's heat, as her head would bob low to stare at the ground in front of her. She'd let out a sigh with a shake of her head before looking back to the flames.

"I do not mind hearing the thoughts of another religion and speaking with said people. However to walk into a city, stand up and begin to preach when said laws of that city forbid it, and refuse to not cease when told too? That is, in the end, foolish beyond anything. That one knew what would become of him and is merely attempting to cause a stir with his death." The Archdruid would speak, giving a slight shake of her head before departing away from the square.

A powerful Waldenian Reichsritter, present for the argument but not the cold-blooded execution - having left the scene presuming an unarmed fanatic would have, logically, been expelled from the city - heaved a heavy sigh. "The Dominionites conveniently omit that not only the man could have been subdued and removed without bloodshed, but that a Virarim cut him down in spite of her superiors' orders - for merely mentioning Gott, no less. How uneducated can these Elfen be, for is it not common knowledge that Gott created their Aspects? Even if he came with the intention to become a martyr, couldn't the violent, jumpy Virarim have seen through his intent and merely carried him out of the city, as reason dictates one would do with unarmed and non-violent troublemakers? It would not surprise me if the Virarim's stupidity, proven time and time again, escalated this conflict beyond salvation - or, at least, would have, had the sky-daemons not been shielding the nations of Atlas from righteous retribution."
