Rule Proposal

Interesting idea, but as a helpless noble, I quite like the idea of being rescued as a damsel in distress..

I’d adjust it for a set number of emotes instead of a time limit. If the person on the receiving end of a meta rally just emotes *dodges or some variant, the attacker can just bail on the fight to save themself.

People can stall with time limits and certain number of emotes though. I do like this idea though. Hate when memers jump in and ruin good crp.

Dont make it emote based or people can just take 20 minutes to write a 1line emote while waiting for others to come

They can do the same thing with time based. Required emote intervention means time stalling is irrelevant. If the req. is 4 emotes, for example, when the new party arrives, the party has to sit there for 4 emotes without doing a damn thing about the RP before they can ICly arrive.

That’s a good idea, I agree.

I disagree. Time > emotes. After all, you can just delay your emotes if you want your meta-rally to arrive.

If done on the basis of emotes, people arrive and must wait X number of emotes before entering the conflict.

more time for people to join as it could be just a dude pops up in a town, iniates combat, 10 mins pass and actual city members / travellers pop up, and are unable to join, easily abused yet I do hate metarallies, a great dillema friend.

what if I radio for an airstrike but my a-10 gets held up on the runway and can only strafe after 20 minutes?

I was a bit on the fence about this one until I saw the thing about four emotes until intervening, personally I think that’s fine but it should be specific emotes- not just four nothing emotes and then getting into combat. For example, something like 1. Emoting arrival 2. Emoting observing the situation. 3. Preparing yourself to step in 4. actually stepping in. Obviously not the most effort put into that, but it’d be a good basis for a ‘what to do when ganking’ or whatever.
Also, nothing feels better than being mugged on the street and not having any means of defending yourself, like a 1v3, and two or more strangers who were going their own way show up and are like ‘Oh hey, this dude is getting mugged lets help’. At the same time though..metarallying, I suppose though with this rule you don’t necessarily lose the ability to be rescued by chance, and you more efficiently shut down the meta I guess?

As the same with PvP combat, no one can join as the affiliating players have initiated or preparing I do believe the same should happen for those in roleplay combat until it finishes (or a certain threshold after it starts).

I say this due to the amount of time that passes from roleplay combat to PvP combat, rp takes significantly a lot longer which multiple other players that join a fight can be disruptive or increase the time the combat has to continue waiting for more emotes.

Make it so people needs to join within the first 30 mins after combat starts... so it would also promote faster fights... instead of very slow fights due to people waiting for others to pop up.

30 minutes is a rather moderate time having in mind that rp fights usually take over one hour.

It’s definitely an interesting idea. Would like to see some polling down on proposed time lengths though.
