I was all for warclaim being paused then resumed when people returned, dunno why they postponed it completely.

The fact that they did it at this particular warclaim, and combined with the staff moderating the warclaims allegiances  really makes you think about the motivations behind this.

War team is eh. I've had conversations with multiple GMs who themselves think the team is biased and needs major work. But they all said it's fine when Corpeans leading things. 

 

Aka. If Corpeans not around. Dont have a war claim. Or find a new war team.

It’s a step in the right direction stopping a warclaim because hacking and other shenanigans made it illegitimate. Don’t let stupid precedents like “the staff have never done it before” get in the way of actually moderating.

I love Frott, Frott puts in a lot of work. Frott really isn’t biased when it comes to war decisions but he’s not the only member of the War Team. He tries his hardest, yet faces a lot of struggles and gives up a lot for this server. Something that burned out me, Karimir, Lark, and countless other staff members that just couldn’t handle the stress.

 

Tbh Fate, Frott isn’t a problem on the War Team. He pushes forward trying to find a solution that follows the shitty guidelines left for him. Others just hold him back. I would name names but then my post will never be approved by a moderator, so I won’t. If you’re going to chase Frott down and blame him for this all, you’re a blubbering fool.

I find it simply disingenuous that my side (defender/rebels) is bragging about stalling a wc with an alt obviously using killaura ? Tornado actually earned those kills while my side has to hack? It makes me want to switch sides but I disagree with the empire on a philosophical level. Also my leaders refused to come out from underground, which worried me because usually hiding in an underground fort means you lose

This is a problem, I will admit.

 

      But there are many underlying problems to the Game Moderation Team and steps are being taken to resolve these issues. I’ll start by explaining the current problems and issues with the team, followed by reasons why this warclaim was postponed. This is not a complete list, and some GMs may not find all these problems relatable but a vast majority may.

 

      The Game Moderation Team currently has 20 GMs, we had 26 at the start of this month. Six have either stepped down or been removed. This leaves 20 Game Moderators for a total of 71,017 players with an average server ratio of ~150 daily, taking in account GMs are unpaid and average the age of 19, with many in college and university during finals. We currently have two GMs on hiatus taking a break due to school and stress. Dwindling our numbers to 18. Warclaims on average take about a week to investigate and set up with only a handful of people assisting in these issues, and an average of 5 GMs with an average of 200 players per warclaim making a ratio of 40:1. There have been 9 warclaims this month alone, roughly 3 per week on average. Pushing this warclaim back to another warclaim is difficult as well due to there being another warclaim occurring this weekend which has also been pushed back a week, which neither side will budge on another date.

 

     In addition to warclaims Game Moderators are also handling, their normal duties as Game Moderators such as our ticket system /modreq where players can request a Game Moderator for assistance in game, the current quota is 3%, with a total of 2,497 tickets or roughly 100 tickets per day and counting so far this month, this averages to a 74 ticket minimum per GM. GMs also take part in staff projects such as Atlas Purge, which oversee the removal of inactive builds. GMs also assisting in rewriting server rules, the most current one being war rules which is a very tedious and delicate process to not upset players and also provide a balance to attackers and defenders. GMs also oversee heists which have their own rules and moderation needs as well as special equipment that require moderators. Players have also been asking for coup rules, which are being started thanks to Fireheart laying the base work and will be completed in time by GMs. Game Moderators are also contacted by players six out of seven days of the week regarding warclaims by players. My messages alone look something like this and I’m sure other managers and GMs also share this.

 

Now regarding how and why this warclaim occurred the way this did, information I am getting secondhand since I was not available.
       1. Defenders had illegal traps which attackers had no avenue of escape, combined with ankle biters so defenders could unfairly attack to include cobwebs so attackers were stuck.

  1. GMs had initially disabled the above trap, however there was apparently another way to enable this.
        A player on an alternative account used multi aura which decimated the attackers, roughly 11 casualties, and created an unfair advantage as the war server is a one life server.
     
  2. Players used noclip to open gates to gain access inside the fort without use of siege weaponry or other fairly gained methods.

The above actions caused the Game Moderators moderating this warclaim to postpone this warclaim. Now, what will be done and what has been done in regards to how warclaims are operated?

  1. A few weeks ago I requested NCP, No Cheat Plus, to be implemented onto the war server. After this warclaim it has been done by our developers due to the massive amounts of cheating. This will prevent and alert Game Moderators of cheats being used on the server.
     
  2. War rules are a priority now in the Game Moderation team and will be pushed out as quickly as they can be made in a fair and balanced manner.
     
  3. We ask for general tolerance towards the team, multiple times GMs have been targeted for items that have occurred in game such as DDoSing and items real world to include doxing. GMs are normally young people who only want to better help the community and give a voice to players, because after all, they are players too.

Thanks for the response. The community will always value transparency and elaboration in decisions not immediately understood. Personally, I find the information adequate and appreciate the time. The approach, I disagree with but given the information, **** happens and life goes on.
