Our Goal

 

The Theodosian Imperial Academy originated as a pet project by Queen Elizaveta I Bihar. It is a non-profitable organization which strives for the betterment of the Empire and its prosperity as a whole. It does this by seeking to educate all those Imperial Citizens who desire to advance their own knowledge and capability, in a myriad of different subjects that suit a variety of different students. The academy strives for achievement in all fields, offering support, private tutoring and group works to enhance the skills already acquired by an individual.

Programmes of Study

Imperial Governance

 

Tyrants and incompetents have sat on the thrones of humanity many a time, causing the division of our people into weak and splintered factions. It shall be the aim of this course of study to tutor the future administrators, generals and nobles of The Realm so that this division does not occur again. All aspects of government shall be covered, from monetary policy to military strategy in the hopes of forging a generation of Imperial citizens and leaders capable of maintaining the Empire’s prosperity and stability. Another important aspect covered within this subject will be noble etiquette. 

 

Semester I:

The Importance of Effective Governance & Etiquette

The student will attend lectures and engage in private study. Discussing in depth past examples of successful and unsuccessful administrations.  A student will be expected to complete regular assignments.

 

Semester II:

Diplomacy, Foreign Relations and War

The student will be tutored in the arts of diplomatic conduct and the roles and responsibilities of an envoy/ambassadorial figure. In addition, grand strategy, operational logistical management and military tactics will be covered.

 

Semester III:

Domestic Administration and Management

The internal running of the Empire shall be covered in this semester. The student will learn about how the Empire runs, its system of administration, what makes an effective administrator and how the Imperial System of nobility and Imperial royalty interacts with the bureaucrats of the realm to create an effective state.

Realm History

 

In order to shape the future and live effectively in the present, one must know and understand the past. The glories of humanity’s achievements and the darkness of its failures since the reign of the illustrious Horen I itself will be studied. In addition, the various histories of the other races shall be covered in detail, many of these being long time enemies of the Empire. The events which have led to the shaping of the modern world will be routinely covered and understood by students, giving them a valuable context to their lives.





 

Semester I:

Civilisational Histories

The student will learn of the histories of the various world civilisations. From the Proto-Orenian State to the unification under Godfrey I to the First Orenian Empire - Orenian history will be discussed. Similar subjects for the other races and their nations will also be covered.

 

Semester II:

History of Threats to the Realm

The student shall be educated in the critical field of threats to the realm. This world is one of violence and deadly threats. From the moment the Great Destroyer Iblees attempted to destroy our world, many dark forces have attempted to do the same. From the time of Setherien to the Vaeyl of our present day, the forces which threaten our world will be discussed.

 

Semester III:

Cultural History

The cultures and ways of life of the civilisations of the world throughout history will be discussed. What unique customs relating to prestige to the Dwarven race possess? Why do the children of Malin see fit to live in the lands of the Forest as opposed to other terrain? What made the High Elves value their purity so much? All of this shall be covered in this semester.

Language

 

The creativity of a dialect, a fluent way of communication. A student will be taught the basics of reading and writing within their early stages and continue to structure their written abilities in a variety of creative writing, poetry and grammar.



 

Semester I:

Fictional and Non-fictional writing.

In this first semester, the student will spend their first week covering an example of both fictional and non-fictional writing, their uses of vocabulary and purpose. Shortly assigned to write their own short story based upon a given list of topics.

 

Semester II:

Poetry

Following on from their knowledge of writing, an example of poetry will be provided to a student to spend a short time to study. The semester will allow a development of understanding between different types of poetry and their purposes. Ending with an assignment to write their own short poem.


 

Semester III:

Speeches

The final topic covered within the aspects of Language will be speeches, the student will be required to study an array of famous speeches and begin to form their own given upon a list of subjects, in front of an audience. Both the quality of the writing and presentation will be graded.

Racial and Natural  Biology

 

Within this unique subject, the Theodosian Academy will educate their pupils upon the biology of different descendant races and the way they work. This subject is all about how the body works, physically and mentally. Gifting the students the understanding of a healthy lifestyle and the in-depth medical knowledge of the biological functions of a person.


 

Semester I:

The four descendant races

To begin, a student will study the biological basics of the four descendant races. This includes, the purpose of organs, respiratory system and the nervous system.  Thoroughly developing an understanding of why these functions have their purposes and the threat if one were affected.

Semester II:

Natural disease and viruses

In this module, the student will be taught about natural diseases and viruses that cripple the natural body, the symptoms and how to prevent them. Shortly being introduced to a practical dissection of a deceased individual, analysing their cause of death and how it could have been prevented.

 

No student will come into contact with any contaminated cadaver.

 

Semester III:

Mental studies

In their final semester, a student shall begin to learn the basic understanding of mental  behavioural patterns in which will develop into learning and recognizing mental disorders.

Physical Education

 

Sport is a key part of the Theodosian Imperial Academy’s programme, offering a wide variety of  activities from: jousting, equestrian, hand to hand combat, swimming, track racing etc. The subject will change each semester with no definitive of what will be chosen, but like the other subjects, will consist of three semesters. A student will be graded upon progression and improvement upon their physical performance throughout the subject.

 

Sports, will consist of three different semesters of sports selected by the students whom apply for the course.

Religious Studies

 

The studies of the Church of The Canon, including its history, tenets, and influence on humanity is a subject for those who wish to better-understand the faith that is ever-prevalent in daily life and Imperial Culture. Students will have frequent talks from sisters of the nunnery and father’s of the faith.


 

Semester I:

The History of Canonism

In this first semester the student will learn the history of the Canonist Faith, including its origins and initial expansion. The impact of Canonism on historical affairs will likewise be covered, from the rise of Horen I to the Third Crusade. The lives and deeds of the various pontiffs will also be discussed.

 

Semester II:

The Holy Tenets

Many students will have likely heard the word of God from mass and other sermons, but there is much that can not be taught in a single service. Students will analyze the importance of their faith’s tenets, and how and why they should be followed.

 

Semester III:

Canonism in Modern Life

In a world shaped by Canonism it is no surprise that the faith plays a vital role in everyday life. Students will learn how the Canonist Religion impacts the government, society, and culture throughout the Empire. The role of the clergy will also be touched upon, and any student who wishes to further pursue their role in the Church will be directed to greater resources.

The Theodosian Ball

The Theodosian Ball is hosted within the Haensetic ballroom at the end of each academic year, both students and professors alike come together to celebrate the devoted hard work of each individual and the achievement they have acquired. A variety of events will be hosted during the ‘eve of the night, followed by delightful food and music. For some students it will be their last ball, for others - their first.

Graduation

There are a total of three academic years offered, all three years of the academy will have a joint graduation where each individual will receive a certificate of achievement. Graded from First (highest) to Third (lowest), the academy takes pride in all of it’s student’s academic achievement in which each certificate would be given by the emperor himself.  Such a ceremony occurs every academic year (every two months or so).

The Theodosian Imperial Academy welcomes a variety of prestigious figures from different fields of academics, whom will come to host talks, lectures and open discussions upon their prefered field. This allows a student to gain more experience, knowledge and time to offer questions to someone already qualified in their chosen vocation.

Recreational Activities

In addition to the various academic activities which are naturally required from an educational institution, it is key that Imperial boys and girls maintain their top physical condition. A healthy body is a healthy mind, and fit, healthy Imperial citizens will be in prime condition to maintain and expand the power of humanity in the world. In aid of this, various tournaments of a martial nature shall be held, increasing equestrian activities, melee combat, archery, javelineering and other physical activities.

Imperial Purple Advanced Certification

The very best students who have obtained the gold certification can be eligible for advancement onto this course. In addition to industriousness and talent - the student must also be a virtuous paragon of Imperial society. When awarded the Purple certification, the graduate will be in a prime position for high rank in the Imperial Administration.

Gold Certification

The highest possible achievement a Third Year can attain. If the student is deemed successful at the end of their final base year of study, they are awarded their gold certification. Especially talented students can at this stage be nominated for candidacy of the advanced Imperial Purple award.

 

Silver Certification

A successful end of the second year is the time when a student is awarded with the silver certification. At this stage the baseline for passing this stage is more rigorous.

 

Bronze Certification

The baseline qualification. At the end of the first year of study is rewarded by this and the student can advance to the next year of topics.
