A vision of a burning Alderyn sent to the Farseers of Krugmar.

The Farseers of the Uzg sat around the large bonfire, within it they were reminded of the city the elves of Alderyn had so readily burned to the ground. The small group of them had received similar images of the elves refusal to fight, a small group of Dragon Knight’s attacking the Snow Elven city, winning despite their disadvantaged numbers.

(This account has been translated into common by Burbur’s scribe)

Burbur opened his mouth “How can we justify protecting those who would burn their own city, the homes of their people before defending it, when our own brethren fought to their last breath defending our own land?”

Nazark of Clan Gorkil, one of the older shamans of Krugmar responded after a few moments of thought “What choice do we have otherwise?”

Burbur responded quickly this time “The humans have offered us a way out, a way out of the senseless death of our people, a way to please the spirits that plague us with visions.”

Hargurr, Former Wargoth of Clan Gorkil and current Dominus of Krugmar, squints softly into the fire as the flames dance on the charred logs. His eyes flick to Burbur for a moment, studying his mentors face before resuming his blank stare at the flames. “There is no honor in fighting for those who simply refuse to fight for themselves. If I am to die, it will not be done so cowering in a cold, frozen castle.”

Nazark would nod, looking between the other Farseers through the flame “Neither side has offered us solace for a substantial amount of time.” he barks out “Not as though we would accept it.” would be muttered afterwards. He would pause again “Our evaluation of this, as of all things, should be rooted in devotion to the spirits and the integrity of our honor.”

Burbur shakes his head, his eyes unblinking as he stares into the warm glow of the fire “What honor is there protecting those who would let others siege our city before leaving their own?”

Nazark quickly bites back, seeming as though he’s ready to stand “Our alliances have never been rooted in adoration of the spineless whelps that comprise the other militaries of our realms.” he says, meeting Burbur’s eyes “Each one is rooted in the idea of preservation. Preserving our lives, our culture, our spirits.” The flames would glimmer on his golden tusk caps as he continued “Every alliance is forged out of the ideals of honor and devotion, what will best contribute to such tenants. If we must pact with the weak or cowardly to do so then so be it.. One cause.” he raises a finger and meets the gaze of the other Farseers “Whichever path takes us there is the one we ought follow.”

Burbur solemnly nods his head “Many names will be called over this, but it is for the good of our people, as well as the spirits, we are no good to either of them dead. We must look out for our own people, I do not think we could survive another uprooting, all our work will go to waste.”

The next day Burbur’Lur made his way to the podium under the statue of Krug, many uruks from various clans gathered before him, the Hou-Zi, as well as the honoraries and snagas.

”It is with no sorrow, and no regret that I announce our leaving of the pact with the Elven Union who would have us give up the lands to our north, that would bend to the Snow Elves who will defend with full force no city but there own. I offer my apologies to those of house Staunton who came out of hiding for this potential coalition, that day is not today, as the elves will not even give a field skirmish a chance. Let it be known that Din’Lasalen of Alderyn, while having burned down his own city, was willing to fight until the end.” the goblin shook his head, spitting on the ground

”No longer will we lose our lands, we will continue to grow stronger as Uruks alongside the Empire, and in this war, our warriors will grow into the likelihood of those of the past, and once more will we be able to call ourselves the War Nation of Krugmar, once more will we be known to the world as a force that is worth recognizing.”

“They have lost so much in so little time. It is to be expected. But will they wash the stain of this dishonorable betrayal from themselves when the time is right?” questions local bitter dark elf nationalist.

Sylutheia stares at the parchment, her eyes were quite dull as she clicked her tongue. “I can’t skewer some Valah now..? How boring.” She looked very annoyed, but exhaled deeply. “Since the Uruk made this decision, I’m sure there’s a good reason for it...” She shrugged and walked off, her ears flicking with clear annoyance.

The crestfallen Prince of Lathadlen’s disappointment was immeasurable upon hearing of the news filtering out of Krugmar. Nonetheless, despite the betrayal of his close friend, he began to sharpen his spear in preparation for what was to come. Next they meet, it would be staring one another down across the field of battle, and there it would be decided whether or not tusk shall be tempered by bronze anew, or that the fury of Krug might overcome. He would prove true to the words of the Rex, no matter the cost.

A spoop’s face contorted into a grin of malice, ”It would seem I have been surprised again. The Orcish people have forsaken their gift of honor, and that is something very interesting.

A delf let out a solemn sigh, ”I do not understand. Why would the orcs dishonor themselves? Do they all wish to be whitewashed? Is our realm only one of chaos?”

“The countless times the Empire has squashed you under their boot and taken your lands, although all other nations hold strong to this honour of unity you break it apart, you bend the knee. Where is your honour orcs? When you can’t even fight them when you do have the chance to win, you are a disgrace to your kind. Some war you’re going to have licking the red-soaked boots of Imperials when they backstab you and take your lands, you cannot even see the inevitable back-stab you will receive, your lands are forfeit to the Empire now, you are now at their mercy.”
