koanda 620 Share Posted May 21, 2019 15th of the Amber Cold, 1716 To His Imperial Majesty, Godfrey III, Following correspondence with my dear brother, Lord Rodrik Kortrevich, I have made a difficult decision; one I hope my family will follow suit with. As the Regent of the County of Ayr, I, Lilliana Baruch-Kortrevich, sister of Lord Rodrik Kortrevich, Baron of Koravia, widow of late Jan Baruch, swear fealty to Godfrey III, of House Horen, in perpetuity. To my family, I wish not for our good relations to be sullied because of this decision. The violence that has occurred thus far is unacceptable, and no more need to die due to the conflict at hand. Already we have lost countless friends, and many will continue to be lost. If we are to do the right thing, the differences with the empire should be solved civilly –– not at the end of a blade. Signed, Lilliana Baruch-Kortrevich Countess of Ayr Baroness of Voron Baroness of Riveryn Lady of Saint’s Rest Lady of Jorenstadt Guardian of the Coast
Dawsy 222 Share Posted May 21, 2019 “Understandable. I can see why you swore fealty to the Imperals, quite sad but I understand.” Charles would say.

Tigergiri 3073 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Lotte upon reading the notice crumples it up, spitting on it and throwing it into the flames. “Lies, all anyone tells is lies. We lose Rodrik then we use Liliana? DOES Family mean nothing to us now?” Looking to her family portrait, her two girls and her loving husband, fuming. How strange. "It's a good thing you cant betray an Emperor you arent a vassal to - you can thank Antonius' moronic dismantling of his own Empire for that. As far as I'm concerned, this war is just between two sovereign, self ruling political entities. These Kortrevich are traitors to their monarchs, lured to another side by false ideals, I do not blame them however - they are a young House, with no political history of note, they are not fully aware of the crimes of the Pertinax Dynasty. Lies must be adressed, or else people will start believing them." comments Armand in the same mystical manner, vanishing into the air after stating such words. Quinn275 415 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Otto Kortrevich sits in his Reza manor, alone at the dining table. A new empty glass of some intoxicating brew sits there, now joining its two brothers which have been idly gathering dust. Slouched in his chair, Otto reads the letter of his cousin, Lilliana Baruch-Kortrevich, while sweeping through his ragged and greasy hair with his hand, all while being illuminated by the assaulting rays of light coming from the road outside. A brow upon his face raises, as an expression of clear confusion crosses his mind at the close of the letter. “Lord Rodrik Kortrevich?” crosses his mind, him now thinkings that perhaps this letter wasn’t truly by his cousin. He then looks up towards a barely burning candle, which had only just survived the night. Otto then speaks to himself, “These titles belong to that Baruch boy, not her. And there is no Rodrik Kortrevich”. As he spoke, he adjusted his posture as he began to drag himself out of his too comfortable spot, then followed by a short stride to the shrinking candle, putting the letter to its flame. Otto watched as the flame consumed the letter, watching as the seal melted and dripped onto the floor. Under his breath, he speaks again, “The Renations can **** off...” and at that he clumsily, but still briskly, walks way looking to find some of his kin for answers. Sawona 108 Share Posted May 21, 2019 Dropping onto the soft mattress, the woman let out a sigh. Her eyes closed, worn out and fragile body finally resting It wasn't long until she felt tears in her eyes drop down her cheeks, just to dissappear in the sheets as if there was nothing to begin with"Lilliana..." Small groan slipped past her lips, sitting up. Her eyes showing just about the same amount of worry, sadness and fatigue as her voice or the rest of her body. How long can one smile while drowning in tears as soon as the sun goes to rest"You've joined them too, and although it causes me much pain, I think I understand you I wish I could stand with bravery like this" Sarah would speak to no one, as a bird landed by her window to sing a song To be free and rid of the war, to be like a bird with only sky as the limit The war is like a chain, bounding everyone down to the ground, restlessly proving their weaknesses, overshadowing any hope they'd have"I already miss you. I would never suspect it'd go this way You were the first to welcome me into the family, to bless our love" Life and death, separated by a thin line A line that is still able to separate families, leaving them in great suffering"I should probably go see if Lotte is alright" She'd cry some more, surely, if not the fact that she has family to worry about Thus she left the room Only to wonder if she made the right choice to begin with To pick a right choice in a situation that has no right choices Oh how she missed Rodrik and Lilliana
