TheIchorDruid 1986 Share Posted December 20, 2020 VAN WICK VOTE, 1799 A VOTE FOR WICK IS A VOTE FORWARD Ladies and gentlemen of Providence, I am Ophelia van Wick, I am an emigrant of Haense, a nation which my family left behind to start anew elsewhere. I have lived a life of hardship, a rough life where the only thing that separates those who live and those who die is merely their capacity to persevere in even the direst of straits. Growing up in Haense made me tough, both physically and mentally, but most importantly it helped shape the ethics that I still espouse to this day. I am an educated woman, coming from a family whose name was almost tantamount to a curse, unfit for discussion amongst the highest echelon of society. They thought us weak, feeble, and ignorant. Yet we learned, we triumphed when all odds were stacked against us and every man made sure that we would fail. This is what I aim to bring to the Commons: a fighting spirit, indelible in cause, whose sole purpose is for the benefit of the people that this machine of government will serve. In this land of opportunity we must ensure that even the lowest of commoners, the poorest of paupers, has an opportunity within their lifetime to lift themselves up. I am living proof that hard work and education can take you into a new world, unfamiliar yet so tantalizing that you must set off on the journey, one foot at a time. With this said, I will strive to make sure that businesses can flourish. With them might there never be a man or woman in Providence who starves on the street, unable to find work to sustain themselves. I will push for a strong education sector, so that there never again will be a child who becomes shackled to the life of indentured servitude due to a lack of education. Lastly, I aim to set the standard that no matter what facet of government that one peers into, not only will there be a transparency the likes of which has never yet been found before in government, but also that they see only the most qualified individuals performing necessary functions. Government and politics are creatures who will forever be intertwined by their nature, yet this does not mean all facets of our political machines will have control over the lives that our citizens lead. All being said: A vote for Wick is a vote for jobs, for fairness, and by all means for freedom. Freedom of economy, freedom of choice, and freedom of opportunity. A vote for Wick means an MoJ separated entirely from politics, Treasury likewise. A vote for Wick is not left, nor right, but forward unto the new future that awaits our grand Empire.
