During your adventures you notice a gravedigger hard at work, out of pure curiosity you ask him of whom he is digging the grave for.

"Tis Cataris conDoin, some stranger found him dead on the pavement below his balcony. The fool had his balcony five stories high above the Kings Road, some say he fell, others say he was pushed, but i guess you'll never know"

The Gravedigger wipes the back of his hand against his foreheard, wiping the sweat away and continues digging.

You notice a piece of parchment next to the grave, you pick it up and unfold the paper to reveal a painting.

"...No...no, not Cataris!"

Tend'el steps away and speaks to himself.

"

I'm sorry I never got to know you as a friend Cataris. I'm sorry the last I saw of you was on bad terms. You probably thought I hated you, didn't you? I can't change what happened, or the ruling on that fateful day. I only wish I had not been so concerned with teaching myself that I could have befriended you. We worked side by side and I, in my cowardice, never even said a word to you. I was shy. I thought you'd shun me.

I was so trusting of Bell, I never considered she was acting in a bit of anger. But even before your trial I never made an attempt to befriend you. I always assumed it would have to be someone else approach me, and now I know better. I had even decided to train myself in the art of medicine and healing! I came too little too late. I never truly knew you Cataris, but for your trial. A man of convictions, and perhaps the road to the nether is paved with such convictions, but what can a man do except strive towards what he knows to be right?

I will use your life, Cataris, as a lesson and as the impetus to always make the first step towards friendship, and to never resist posing my thoughts, no matter who my superior is. Rest in peace.

"

The dark-skinned elf lays down the portrait, and begins to speak, while reaching for something in his pocket.

"Sir? Thank you for the information. Have a good day."

The elf shakes the gravedigger's tired hand, leaving 100 minas in the man's palm as he walks away.

*Petyr walks by the sight, observing the gravedigger hard at work.*

What a shame, to bury someone... We could have harvested his bones for bonemeal...

*Walks away humming "The Bear and the Fair Maiden"*

Lucas walks forward a bit looking at the body. In all his time in the Black Hand and observing wars, he knew murder from accident. This was murder. Shaking his head a bit at the sight he walks away silently wondering what led to this and why.

Tarus walked over to body and sighed,

"Aegis have mercy, when all the good men die. One of a handful of pure souls in a world of uncertainties. When will his funeral be?"

Rain hitting his mask Timayame slowly advances towards the grave.

As the grave digger finishes telling him about who he is burying Timayame's eyes dim and he stares at the grave, his mask hiding all signs of emotion he softly utters a few words, "Catatris how can you die like this... something doesn't seem right" Timayame holds his gaze for a quick moment looks at the grave digger then walks off...

Later that evening Timayame pays a visit to Vonschlichten Inn. Upon his arrival he noticed the Inn was completely empty. Timayame then made his way to upstairs to Cataris' room. When he opened the door and saw that the room was in a mess and it was clear that Cataris struggled before he "fell". Suspicious thoughts flowed into Tim's mind so he began looking around the room for clues to what went down when Cataris died that night. Blood on the walls, a splintered chair, and broken glass everywhere Timayame had found nothing of real significance... until he turned over a chest and found what appeared to be a tattered book. Tim quickly picked up the book and read over its contents. After reading the book Tim moved towards the balcony and spoke to himself, "Cataris... your death shall not be in vein".

*Timayame tucks the book into his cloak and heads back to his sanctuary...*

*Toren continues watching the gravedigger work for a few more moments before speaking* Farewell Cataris. I often forget how short lived humans can be...but perhaps it is this short life that allows humans to be so remarkable and clever. And you were particularly remarkable Cataris, at least from what I knew of you. A pity that we had lost touch in your last years.

I remember when we first met though...*a soft chuckle passes from his lips and his face lights up at the memory but the mirth fades just as quickly as it came.*

Now you may have your peace, away from the troubles of Aegis.

*Shaking his head, the Elf turns away to resume his journey with one more sorrow to weigh upon his heart.*
