Your Beautiful Author [Circa 1827]

When I heard news that the Rosius family was hosting a ball at a private estate I was quite shocked. It is quite unusual for a common family to have a country estate. I was afraid we would all show up and it would be some old barn, but the house turned out to be beautiful, well decorated, and even better than some of the Noble Estates.

While the estate was of a decent quality, the ball itself was an utter failure. Upon arriving couples were sent off into the large flower garden together to pick flowers, this is a ball, not a garden party. And simply sending these couples off unsupervised is idiotic, they could be doing GOD knows what in the back of that garden. We do not need some debutante ending up pregnant while unmarried before the end of the season.

Following the picking of flowers there was some odd sort of game of “Hide-and-Seek” which must’ve been the Rosius’s attempt to cover up their lack of preparedness for the event as there was no band to perform nor was there a ball room large enough to house the many guests. Luckily the lovely Lady Helena jumped in to save the day, performing an amazing song for those still present to dance to, if they could find room in the small ballroom. Perhaps this debutante should’ve earned the title of Ruby of the Season, she surely has performed better at each event than the Lady Juliya.

The Lack of Princess Amadea

I must admit, I was very shocked to notice that HIH Princess Amadea was not present at the “ball”, though perhaps it is better she wasn’t there as the Rosius family would’ve been put in their place for the lack of preparations.

Princess Amadea has been at nearly every event of the season thus far, I fear the reasons she might have avoided this one. Perhaps the Princess does not wish to associate with a common family such as the Rosius. If this is so I hope that her beliefs soon change, an Empress that does not enjoy the company of the commoners could easily cause many issues. We wouldn’t wish to see the bodies of the Royal Family hanging in the Gallows because of an ignorant Empress. Let us hope she was just ill.

An Unexpected Dance

During the dance to one of Lady Helena’s lovely songs one of the oddest dances occurred. Lord Wilhelm, the Baron of Carrington, and his sister Lady Mary, were spotted having a rather Romantic Dance together. Upon a reflection of the previous events of the season and the last few years within Providence it has become clear that the Baron and his sister are extremely close, possibly too close.

Lord Wilhelm is rather old to be unmarried, perhaps this is the reason. He is in a romantic relationship with his own sister LADY MARY! I pray that my prediction is false as the Carringtons have been through so much and I do not wish to see them cause their own downfall, but it does not look good.

May GOD be with these two.

A Disgrace to the d’Azor

Throughout the failure of a ball, Lady Adeline d’Azor and Mister Anton d’Amato could be seen at each other's side, what I originally thought to be a lovely relationship brewing quickly had a crashing downfall.

Towards the conclusion of the event a shout could be heard from the Lord Joseph d’Azor, who I must note is a future count, claiming that the lovely Mister Anton had made his sister cry,  grabbing Anton by his shirt. Many people quickly noted that Anton was simply comforting Lady Adeline after another man rejected her. The situation continued to escalate despite the correction, Joseph clearly lost his temper as Anton seemed to simply wish to get away and avoid conflict. After the Lady of the house, the recently elected Lady Mayor, and a construct belonging to Lady Helena, stepped in, the issue finally dulled down. I suspect these anger issues are likely the cause of Lord Joseph’s failed relationships. And I now fear he may have been involved with the disappearance of Lady Coraline d’Arkent.

It should also be noted that “Knight” Edwin de Sarkozy was quick to blame Anton and demanded his apology and roughly grabbed the man’s arm. These actions are not what one should expect from a night, I was quite disappointed.

The Pairings of the Night

The disgraceful Lord Joseph d’Azor was spotted with the lovely Miss Phillipa Fitzpeter at multiple points throughout the event. I must admit it was a surprising pairing to me, their age difference is so great that it’s hard to imagine how Joseph is attracted to her, perhaps he has run out of options and must turn to the second best Fitzpeter sister. Let us hope Miss Phillipa can escape the Angry man.

Lord John Alexander d’Arkent, the heir to the duchy of Sunholdt, seemed to stay to the side for most of the event, yet as it came to a close he was spotted sharing a dance with Lady Anne Eleanore, his first cousin, the daughter of HIH Princess Anna Caroline. This could make for  an excellent match, though I’ll feel bad for the future duke if Anne Eleanore has a personality like her mother’s.

It would seem the Lord Henry Draskovic-Kovachev, heir to the Baron of Draskovic, has taken a liking to Miss Natalie Beaumont. The two were spotted speaking for a while at the ball and I believe I witnessed a few grins between them. At first I was surprised that Lord Henry was interested in Miss Natalie, though after more thought the woman has made a name for herself, and Lord Henry would be a step up from her previous partner, Lord Leon. Later on in the event it seemed he began to mingle with many other women, so perhaps this match is still in the air.

Following the argument between Mister Anton and Lord Joseph, Anton and Lady Adeline were once again found together, but this time they were hidden behind the estate, standing rather close to each other and sharing whispers. Despite Lord Joseph’s outburst I believe we might have a future match on our hands.

The very young Princess Amelia seemed to take fondly to the Grand Prince of Haense, though from all I can tell the young prince did not seem to be as interested. Let us hope these two future leaders do not cause any additional discourse between our two countries.

The DISGRACEFUL Joseph d'Azor blinks as a nearby servant handed himself and Lady Philippa a printing of each of the tabloids. Pausing he read such events with confusion "INVOLVED IN DISSAPEARENCE? Coraline?" The man spoke with confusion reading further "I- I try to comfort my sister from a man who put her in tears!" Josephs jaw dropped as he handed to the tabloid to Philippa @Azie"You aren't going to try and escape are you??" He quipped with laughter as he couldn't help but take the tabloid for what it was, a joke and nothing else.

Philippa Fitzpeter read the newly published tabloid whilst allowing audible shocked gasps come from her lips. With each events, her lips contorted with a shaking of her head, grimacing. "This article contains quite a bit of libel within it." She'd pause, turning to face Joseph d'Azor who handed her the tabloid, she'd laugh along shrugging her shoulders. "Escaping from an angry man such as yourself? Me?" Thought briefly as she repeated the words, humming shrugging her shoulders in a jest. "After reading this words, possibly!" She'd burst into a faint fit of laughter, closing the tabloid's pages as she resumed their prior conversation.

Natalie Julia seemed to find the Article quite hilarious till she reached the part about her and Henry, her face falling blank as she stared at it. "I do not believe we were courting in any way. We were discussing the women he liked, whoever write this clearly needs to mind their business."

Mary reads the missive with a crinkled nose. "Ridiculous!" exclaims she, remembering back to the rather plutonic dance she shared with her brother. Mary grumbles, her eyes rolling as she otherwise disregards the column.

"HAHAHA!" Wilhelm burst out into laughter as he read over the article "I suppose a brother cannot even share a gentlemanly dance with his sister anymore!" He continued in-between heavy chuckle

Anne Eleanore Pruvia frowns as she reads the freshly printed paper, looking indignantly to her sister as they sat at dinner that evening. "Look, Adelheid, the writers got our names mixed up! Perhaps one of us should dye our hair. Then they'd really be confused."

Louise Antoinette Halcourt read over the recount of the ball. Upon reading the near end of the writings, the young maiden flew into a rage. Slamming the pamphlet down, she’d take a small, Rococo vase, and launched such across the parlor. The vase smashed into thousands of pieces.

One ruby of a lady lazed within her fathers scholarly study, paying mind to yet another gossip paper handed to her by a seemingly endless stream of couriers within such a season. "Eugh.." she remarks, upturning her nose. "This is the type of gossip that makes no attempt at being dignified. Simply distasteful and trashy."

Anne Adelheid read the pamphlet conscientiously whilst sitting by her sister during dinner. "As expected, I knew they were going to mention that dance with John. But just so happens to be that they've mixed us up, truly pathetic, at least get my name correct before you decide to write about me." She remarked with a smirk on her countenance.

Natalia read over the tabloid, a bemused grin stretching over her features as she met the paragraph about her son "well ****, I don't know if I should be angry or impressed.. HENRRRRRRRYY" she screamed out to the despair of all those gathered in her house as she set out to confront her first-born @Radzig

"Well, you know. You tried. The Rosius family is known for their roses, hence why I allowed people into our luscious gardens to peruse and make flower crowns. It's a long standing family tradition and it goes to show you have no culture." The Mayor, Maria de Rosius shrugged. "I invited Helena to perform after our main events. Hide and seek is fun, but again like I said, no culture." She said to the article in her hand. Before realizing she had better things to do, like be with her husband and son or her lovely family.
