Issued and proclaimed, 7th of Tobias' Bounty, 1844

Our beloved subjects,

It is Our great displeasure to announce the death of Our beloved Imperial grandson, HIH Philip Amadeus, son of HIH The Duke of Adria.

Our missives should not be instruments of Our mourning, but instead for Our country. For all those who love Orenia and her Imperial Crown, pray most fervently that We may meet with Our Imperial Grandson in the seven skies.

The most esteemed and excellent Franz Sarkozic, along with Our soldier and ancient Nauzican, Nyseia of Felsen, were assigned guardians to HIH Philip Amadeus and his wife and family, and witness to the death of Philip Amadeus, as well as the birth of his legitimate children by his wife Anastasia var Ruthern.

We had summoned Franz Sarkozic and Nyseia of Felsen along with those children legitimately born by their union to return unto Us upon Our knowledge of the death of HIH Philip Amadeus, accompanied by the casket of the beloved Prince. Their party was greeted by His Imperial Majesty this day, the 7th of Tobias Bounty, the Year of Our Lord, 1844.

While Our country mourns, we also rejoice, and welcome Our Imperial Great Grandchildren to Our Country.

Catherine Anastasia - Born 1838

Julia Amadea - Born 1840

Peter Augustus - Born 1842

Victoria Augusta - Born 1843

James Phillip - Born 1844

With the death of Philip Amadeus, his legitimate firstborn son, HIH Peter Augustus, is now second in Our line of succession, and the direct inheritor of Our Empire.

Lady Anastasia var Ruthern remains overseas, as she was pregnant at the time of the death of her husband. The final child shall be retrieved by the officers of Our Crown whence it is old enough to make the journey.

In nomine dei;

His Imperial Majesty, Philip II, by the grace of GOD Holy Orenian Emperor, forever August, King of Renatus, Curon, Kaedrin, Salvus, and Seventis, Defender of the Faith, Grand Duke of Ves, Duke of Helena, Novellen, and Lorraine, Baron of Renzfeld, Protector of the Heartlanders, Orenian Highlanders, and Farfolk, etcetera.

Kairn Calithil eyed a scatter plot and photos strewn over his wall with vicious indignation. He eyed the note and then called out to his charts and statistics, "Falsities!"

The Viscountess Provins' head hangs lower today, her thoughts filled with the great friendship she held with the Duke and Duchess of Furnestock, preparing to begin the etchings of a new letter to send to Anastasia in light of their childrens' arrival, and her husband's demise.

"Oh, how I miss them." She whispered in reflection, lips kindling with a somber smile.

The Countess of Huntshill sat at her desk, the missive resting on the wood before her. Her eyes stared out of the window at the sky just above the buildings across the street. She sat thinking - processing - what she had just read. "Oh my God..."

Swiftly, Isabella rose from the desk and snatched up the missive, running all the way over to the bastion. Knocking on the door of his office, Bella breathlessly cried, "George, you need to read this!"

Alina of Susa, the Baroness Carrington, weeps for the fallen Prince, and furthermore for his mourning wife, the Baroness’ dearest friend. She ventures thereafter to relay the Ducal pair’s kindness unto their children in hopes that Philip’s vision for the Empire would be realized. Murmuring a solemn prayer, the Baroness bowed her head as she relived every memory she had with the zealous Prince. “Worry not, as GOD has taken thee to His Kingdom, to meet those brave and virtuous that came before them. And worry not, children of GOD, for His realm is the most peaceful. Requiesce in pace, dearest Philip.”

The Prince of Merryweather, who loves Orenia and her Imperial Crown (but would prefer not to be pressed about the details), sent a customary expression of condolence to the wigged sovereign he had the honor of witnessing at the joust.

Father Fiodor muttered a prayer in the privacy of his own home after hearing of the death of Philip Amadeus.

Ioannes Novellen, a novice within the Lectorate, was completely unaware of the notice from his grandfather. On the shining shores of Savoy, his cousin arrived on the shores of that holy state. The three; Olivier, Ioannes, and Philip Amadeus, reunited like the days of Ioannes' childhood. The only thing that could have made this reunion better was if his father had returned from his missionary trip as well.

The Duchess of Adria watches the arrival with solemnity, standing at one end of the wharf as the huddle of imperial grandchildren were aided off the galley upon which they had sailed. She had not had the pleasure of knowing Philip Amadeus well, but Charlotte knew these children would need proper guidance and care. She prayed the Duke and herself could provide such, to be the parental figures they deserved now that their beloved father was gone.

---

At the other end of the wharf, a small toddler with raven-colored tresses departed the ship that had taken weeks to arrive. She held tight to the hand of her elder sister, Catherine, as her wide pupils came to gaze upon the looming city above. The petite frame of Princess Julia Amadea felt dwarfed by everything around her...and yet, she felt a child's giddy excitement as she wondered what lie ahead of her and her siblings.

Joseph Clement de Sarkozy III would gasp, though reading Franz Sarkozic - He simply wondered if it was his great-grandfather that was mentioned or his great-cousin - Nonetheless, Joseph would mourn the death of his distant relative.  "Rest In Peace Prince Philip Amadeus!" He exclaimed from the de Sarkozy manor, thinking the Prince could hear him from the Seven Skies.

"Oh he passed away . . . awww . . . mmmmm . . . - Alright." A young maiden of San Luciano would comment while having a calm tone, talking, with fellow ladies of the serene Savoyard Court. Seemingly undisturbed by the death of the young heir. The ladies would be in the palace courtyard, sharing cupcakes and small sandwiches, with bright sun shining on them and the cool wind would breezing through.

"Let the period of mourning begin" Minuvas would flip the sand hourglass at the Ministry of Civil Affairs, at his table - looking silently down the hallway as hummed the Orenian anthem to himself, eyeing all the buzzing worker bees of the Imperial  Bureaucracy. The lifeblood of Orenia, the real front line troops - not some boot polished recruit from the ISA but indeed - the uninterrupted hum of stamps and paperwork...

After the last grain of sand fell, he would stand up from his desk "The period of authorized mourning has ended. The period of work now begins anew. You must now process and certify all these children, the death certificates etcetera. Someone get the official Ministry Stamp....no we don't have time for afternoon tea today. You think a Imperial Prince passes away, leaves all these children to catalogue and records to archive and you want afternoon tea!? Did you know the Princes favorite color? How many also held his middle name? No! Away with you!

Get this clerk out of my face!"

The Ministry of Civil Affairs would be working tirelessly that evening in the archives - some even say Minuvas needed two wigs to get through the night.
