Imperial Response on the High Elven Schism

Issued 1st of Horen’s Calling, 1852

In recent times, despite the war that now rages upon our borders, we have nonetheless come to see the rising schism among the flock of Larihei - for ours is an Empire of many desires, and high among these is a benevolent relationship with our neighbors. We have long endured a fraught relationship with the Silver State; they have sought the steel of Horen’s sons only for their own benefit, so that it might serve their own pride. We remember when the Silver State of Haelun’or was prepared to raise arms against us - and in those days since, it is out of fear, not friendship, that they have sought our association.

In the interests of establishing a more fruitful relationship between the Holy Orenian Empire and High Elven people, we hereby recognize the claim of Princess Ivarielle I to the High Elven throne - that she might break the cycle of High Elven vacillation and stagnation, spurring the development of a more productive neighbor with which to share our friendship. As the Aster Revolution breathed fire into the hearts of Orenian folk, so shall fresh blood breathe life into the High Elves. For a neighbor, a bold ruler would not have any other. The empire looks forward to a new chapter of friendship between our peoples - spurred by neither pride nor desperation, but strength and benevolence.

IN NOMINE DEI,

HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY, Philip III, Holy Orenian Emperor, forever August, King of Renatus, Curon, Kaedrin, Salvus, and Seventis, Grand Duke of Ves, Helena, Novellen, Furnestock and Lorraine, Baron of Renzfeld, Protector of the Heartlanders, Orenian Highlanders, and Farfolk, etcetera

HER IMPERIAL MAJESTY, Anastasya of Kositz, Empress consort of the Holy Orenian Empire, Duchess consort of Furnestock

Althrin smiled upon seeing the missive delivered into Fenn's tavern after a meeting, simply reading the missive as he comments "Such a time to be alive, isn't it?" before then letting out a chuckle along the ongoing festivities in the tavern

"For all the grievances the Emperor is so given by the valah, the dwed- for him to come together now to make this decision, this announcement.. grants me hope that the future of mali is not one of persistent turmoil against the Imperials. It appears I shall so pay the Emperor a visit to give thanks" The Silver Princess so states as she breathed a sigh, setting the missive atop Fenn's, Norland's and Elvenesse's. "To a brighter future betwixt our people, Emperor"

Somewhere, a Sillumiran sighs, both tavernkeeper and guard, the same person. "So young, I am.. And to fight for what is right against the world.. Likely to my death.." He rips up the missive, looking over the silver city in which he resides, "An outside force wants a city.. It'd be better for us to destroy it than to let them have it."

"Most of us will never be privy to deals struck under the dark of night - in alleyways and dimly lit rooms,  but what strikes me most about this.. intervention, is that Oren has taken the side of schemers and followers of Azdromoth. They side with the Tribe of Fenn and other unsavoury murderers. Why I wonder, has Oren abandoned reason for madness?" Ponders the Sohaer from the top of the Citadel - he looks out over his newly bustling city, sighing as his gaze meets the azure oceans beyond the Silver Bastille.

Wynanya, nestled in the Empire's very own mali'vassal, nodded, relieved at last to have some precedent in the matter. "-Servus und progress," she murmured, lifting her drink. "To the Princess, then!"

Prince Amaesil coughs. Then: "Let us rejoice. True elven unity is in standing behind one another when the evils of our cousins rears its ugly, platinum-covered head."

"Hm... a rare moment of intelligence from the Valah. Let's see how long this lasts and the fit to be thrown by Haelun'or." Velatha mused from her position among a celebration, maintaining her guard from the side.
