One particularly unpleasant eve, you head to slumber and are soon dropped into some hellish nightmare like none before. Flames dance around you, your colleagues twist and screech, a great light illuminates the sky. A serpent coils around your right leg and strikes at your temples, jolting you back awake in an instant – or so you thought. Your eyes open to some strange ritual of great proportions, legions of undead and demons at your feet chanting in a strange tongue and dancing around an empty goblet. A moment later, and you’ve finally awoken at last.

 

The very next night, you dream of an abyss, with nothing but a voice piercing its veil and a gigantic, blood-shoteye staring at you:

The Ruler –  Epleiades, Iblees, the Red Prince – the Brightest turned Darkest Star, Obscura Astrum.

          The slaver god, a powerful Voidal Behemoth – the Creator – Auctor.

                  The horror which opened the Star’s eyes – Achan-Chatla – the Gloomgazer, the King in Yellow, Flavo Rex.

The one who deflected the Creator’s fatal blow  – the Widukind – the Protector of mortalkind, Custodes.

        The Slaver God’s puppets – The Eight Sorvians Horen, Juli’el, Malin, Larihei, Urguan, Ingot, Krug, and Grahla – mortalkind, the Vivorum.

                The ones which felled and the ones which sided with Epleiades – the Aenguls and Daemons – the heirs, Primus.

 

All carry a mantle in the Wheel and the Climb. 

Mundus and its two sides, Aos and Eos, host the Vivorum and parody the High Hells as an eternal warplane, which the Loathsome Squabblers – the aenguls – seek to prolong evermore to keep them bound to their false ideals of order and servitude. 

Iblees, once the most powerful of all his Aengul Brethren, was sworn to the Nether for contesting the Creator by protecting mortalkind from Its attempt of destruction after Iblees had given them freedom from the Slaver God, and has existed forever more as a sort of Planar Custodian against the Aenguls who have continued to try and finish the Creator’s work.

And so, Iblees and his denizens, the Inferi, alongside his Pentacle have championed an ideal of self-service and freedom: yet their message is seldom heard, thanks to the Aenguls campaigns to silence them. To keep the Descendants like Cattle, they musn’t know the glory they could have outside of captivity.

The right hand of Obscura Astrum, or Iblees: the Pentacle, the leaders of his free world. It is from this pentacle that members just making their way into the Order may choose from as their Patron - whose image they revere and teachings they follow.

 

 

VELKUZAT: The Prince of Greed, the Goat, once the great goliath ‘Velketzar’. Embodied by vampyrs, insatiable demons, and great warriors. His sect of the Order represents Might and brute force.

 

DRAZHANA: The Prince of Dread, the Bat, once the great Drake broodmother ‘Xandraza’, the first dragon and envied by Azdromoth. Embodied by scholars, Naztherak, and Dark Shamans. Her sect of the Order represents magick in its refined form.

 

KIIZTRIA: The Prince of Venom, the snake, the child of Xandraza and a peacekeeper of yore between Iblees’ forces and mortalkind. Embodied by politicians, priests, and Seers. Their sect of the Order represents those who manipulate and preach.

 

KHOLIDAV: The Prince of Pestilence, the Crow, brother of the Lich-Dragon Mordring and the creator of disease. Embodied by undead, homunculi, alchemists, and dark shamans. Their sect of the Order represents Alchemists and Inventors.

 

ZATHAIRN: The Prince of Calamity, the Cat, once the greatest Blood Mage to live and the creator of Vampyrs. Embodied by vampyrs, Blood Magi, Voidal Magi, and Naztherak. Their sect of the Order represents magick in is brutal, destructive form.

 

 

Obscura Astrum’s Lux: The Dark Star’s Light, Iblees’ divine teachings.

1: Coronae Obscura, the Dark Crown

The form in which mortalkind perceives Obscura Astrum: as ‘the Betrayer’. His light beams into the minds of those who observe him and enlightens them, as he was after his first glimpse into the Dark.

Represented by a Crown. It is all directions, it is the Basalt Altar, it is Aether, the Nether, and mankind.

 

2: Sapientiae Obscura, the Dark Wisdom

The highest form of wisdom and thought, which Obscura Astrum wields in each decision he makes, has made, and will make – from his greatest of tactics to his wisest of words. 

Represented by the right sphere of the brain. It is up, it is the Stone Altar, it is white, it is the night sky, and a gigantic owl.

 

3: Contemplatio Obscura, the Dark Contemplation

The mirror of Sapientiae Obscura, which funnels wisdom into understanding, the creation of thought and knowing.  This was Obscura Astrum’s gift unto the Eight Sorvians, and what the Loathsome Squabblers sought to destroy.

Represented by the forehead. It is down, it is the Gravel Altar, it is black, it is an endless field of wheat, and a gigantic wolf. 

 

4: Refugium Obscura, the Dark Refuge

The love and refuge which Obscura Astrum has labored to give to the Eight Sorvians and their kin: shielding them from Aengul Ariel’s destructive temper, from the Creator’s wrath, and above all, the vicious cycle of the Wheel.

Represented by the right arm and flavorless foods such as granola. It is South, the iron altar, a raging waterfall, gray, and a lion.

 

5: Fortitudo Obscura, the Dark Strength

The raw power that Obscura Astrum holds as a shield against the Slaver God and his foul offspring, working alongside the Refugium Obscura to create safe havens for his own children – the Inferi, the Undead, and the Eight Sorvian’s kin. It, too, represents Charity, for all of his soul and strength Iblees has given to others such as Azdromoth & the denizens of Moz Strimoza.

Represented by the left arm, and hearty foods such as wine, salt, and meat. It is North, the bronze altar, a great fire, red, and a serpent.

 

6: Coniunctio Obscura, the Dark Uniting

The power which unites all spheres of Obscura Asturm’s lux: the very center of it. Binding together the Refugium Obscura and the Fortitudo Obscure especially, Coniunctio Obscura carries the very will and heart of Iblees and the teachings of Mivtahza.

Represented by the spine & ribs, and milk & honey. It is sideways, the golden altar, the gentle breeze, purple, and a mouse.

 

7: Tolerantia Obscura, the Dark Patience

The patience and endurance of Obscura Astrum and his kin & disciples, of whom, throughout history, have been portrayed in the scheme of Black & White as the Black; the ‘evil’.  With this, throughout the centuries and centuries of existence, he has persisted. 

Represented by the left leg, and simple foods such as bread. It is East, a gentle river, blue, and a fish.

 

8: Cordis Obscura, the Dark Heart

The heart and emotion of Obscura Astrum: who, unlike his brethren of the Creator, never became unfeeling or apathetic to the plight of the Eight Sorvians and mortalkind overall. It is Cordis Obscura and Tolerantia Obscura that Iblees has taught his kin & disciples to be compassionate and free, to do what they will and wander where they must, as both 8 & 7 are represented by one’s legs.

Represented by the right leg, and sustaining foods such as berries and crops. It is West, a great ocean, blue, and a whale.

 

9: Fundamentum Obscura, the Dark Foundation

The foundation of Obscura Astrum’s existence: the foundation of his Lux, akin to the trunk of Widukind. It represents the fundamentals of all knowledge and existence and transmits it to the Sphere below it, as a messenger of all Spheres above.

Represented by the heart, and the flesh of Mortalkind. It is Low, a deep ravine sheltered by leaves, green, and a monkey.

 

10: Esse Obscura, the Dark Existence

The life of Obscura Astrum himself, and all of his children & disciples, it governs the simple fact of existence that links everything together like the hollowed roots of Widukind. Whilst Coronae is the Crown, Esse is the Mouth, transmitting all of what Obscura Astrum proclaims, and through listening to it may his disciples experience true ascension.

Represented by the mouth, and the blood of Mortalkind. It is High, a well of water at the bottom of a ravine, orange, and a bird.

I. The one true law which all others follow, and of which the heavens and hells, the Void and the Veil, and all else follow. The weak are meat, and the strong do eat.

II. Do what thou wilt shall be the whole law: let no mortal Monarch hold you nor the Loathsome Squabblers jail you.

III. Order is Tyranny. Peace is Complacence. Justice is Revenge. There is only the Self, and its needs.

IV. Blood of the covenant is thicker than water of the womb: all ties of kin are weak, but brotherhood between the Order is strong.

V. The Loathsome Squabblers represent mortal greed to the highest degree: let not the Wilven Monks stain your soul, may your loins not bear kin who stray into the path of the Aengulic, let yourself not be touched by the Cloud Temples.

 

These are the five laws.

Divided into three hemispheres are the

 Sphaera Mortalium – the sphere of mortalkind and the blinded –

 Sphaera Divini – the sphere of the divine and the knowing –

 and Sphaera Obscurae – the sphere of most divine, headed by the Obscura Astrum himself.

 

 

The sphere of the unknowing, the mortalkind, the Vivarum. They are blinded or choose to be blind, lead by the Loathsome Squabblers and the greedy mortal Rulers, the Drui who slave great beasts as pets, the Clerics and their xenophobic Aengul, and more. This sphere also includes Apprentices who wish to learn, but have not yet accepted the One Truth.

 

Apprentices – 0°=0°

An individual not yet oathed and proven. They must attain a general knowledge before passing.

 

Neophytes – 1°=10°

A beginner. They must study the Pentacle and their laws.

 

Practicus – 2°=9°

A middling role. They must pick which sect of the Pentacle they belong to, and are given a duty to fulfill. 

 

Philosophus – 3°=8°

A middling role. After picking their Pentacle and receiving their duty, they must study their Pentacle head and write publicly about them.

 

A Philosophus may be appointed the Dominus Liminus of this order should they prove themselves proficient.

 

Spheres higher than Mortalium are of private knowledge and are only capable of being understood by those worthy.
