Out With The Old, In With The New.

It was a cold, snowy night in the City of Valdev. White flurries set out from Ser Karl’s bedroom window, where he frequented mostly. The Elderly, one hundred and eighteen year old knight laid in bed, frail as a rail, white pale set on the old man’s face, scoliosis formed in his spine, the old scars from past battles were worn from the wrinkles that deposited into the man’s pores and the old tattoos shown on the sagged biceps and triceps that were inked from previous years. From old age, Ser Karl’s body started to deteriorate, laying there in his white, cotton trousers and a white, button down long sleeve nightgown was garmented on the man’s figure. Resting his head on the old pyle he had for many years started to wear, and tear; the same pillow he had as a child. Minding his own business, he was kept in his thoughts. Alzheimer's and dementia started to solidify, thinking of his past.. ‘I wonder what Eleanora and Sigismund are doing… I can nej keep them waiting,' he muttered to himself, ‘Albus, where are vy? I need to see them…’ He utterly mumbled a call from his closed chamber... Though, no answer was heard from across the Manor, just silence and snow slowly dissipating on the glass window; melting from a single touch...

The old man tilted his head back and forth on the pillow, side to side. He was in distress from the movement of his neck; he pressed his arms against the bed and tightly grabbed upon the sheets he laid in, eagerly trying to press himself up.. From the waist down, he couldn’t feel or move; paralysis formed overnight. Sweat profusely formed from his forehead and darted downward from his pores, his odor was overly immense, sporadically perfuming the entirety of the room of his stench. With a lot of struggle, he never gave up; that was Ser Karl’s nature. Droplets of tears started to manifest, form from his corneas.. Moments past, a knock from his wooden door was heard, a voice was heard from the otherside, ‘Adeypapej, Nataliya gave birth to a boy and a girl!’ Muffled noises came through the old man’s ear drums, he quirked and lifted an eyebrow as he slowly rested his hunched back down on the hard, iron springed mattress. Albus Amador barged in with the most gleeful facial expression. Followed behind him was the entire Amador Clan. From sadness and sorrow, Karl’s spirit changed from that moment. He seemed cheery and awed from the display shown from his kin. Though, tears and sadness were shown on the faces of many that surrounded the old Knight’s bed as they trickled in, knowing this was Karl’s final moments..

Albus beckoned for Nataliya and Aleksandr to step forward; Aleks carried a little baby girl named Poppiya and there was a little surprise, something that the kin held true, in respect for the Amador Elder. Nataliya cradled the little boy in her arms, a cotton blanket formed around the baby’s body, only showing the babe’s face. With a kneel at Karl’s bedside, Nataliya presented and carefully cradled the baby boy into Ser Karl’s arms with tears in both the little boy’s and Nataliya’s eyes. Ser Karl carefully grabbed the babe and cradled him gently as Nataliya slowly moved her face towards Ser Karl, her lips agape into speaking words in Karl’s ear, ‘Adeypapej, this is Karl Isaak..' Though partially deaf, he heard Nataliya’s voice ring through his ear drum, his mouth agape with an astonished look. Tears, again, formed and welded into the Old Knight’s eyes.. He stared into Karl Isaak’s eyes; the blue-ish orbs you can ever imagine, a sea formed into Ser Karl’s imagination as Karl Isaak’s Iris looked like fluffy white clouds. A flashback came into Ser Karl’s mind when he was a child as he looked in a mirror. He remembered having sea blue eyes, just like Karl Isaak’s, the same colored brownish hair. Isaak Amador, Ser Karl’s brother playfully pushed him against the mirror, ‘Tag, vyr it, Karl!’, both of the little boys chuckled; the scene dissipated. The memory washed away, as the old man was back into reality. The old knight softly hugged Karl Isaak against his chest and slowly, Ser Karl’s heart abruptly stopped with Karl Isaak in his arms…

Nataliya Amador attempted to suppress her tears, at least for the moment, as her relatives gathered within the room. Deep within her heart, she held a glimmer of hope that the tiny bundle before her would grow to embody even half of the greatness embodied by the elderly Amador knight. As Ser Karl's heartbeat came to a halt, Nataliya recollected and clung to that young shard of hope, cradling him gently in her trembling hands.

"Oh how much you have to live up to little Karl.." The Baroness of Mondstadt whispered to the infant as she recalled the legacy of Ser Karl Ruslan Amador. "...such strength and honour."

Ilaria Amador let out a sigh, making her way to the church so she could pray for the loss of her family. "May GODAN keep vyr soul, hauch-aedypapej... Vy have brought this family honor, ag vy deserve to rest."

Meanwhile, Liridona Amador sought to comfort her twin, and perhaps allow the poor Baroness to rest by watching over her young nephews... ( @cherrybud)
