The Father, The Sorcerer, The Alchemist, all collected in one body to bless his children and the sons of Horen.”

« I say that there is power in the nephilim’s speech. Dare I say, there is power in our very intent. What if we could take intent and take it to a boil? This would be alchemy fit for a dragon. »

 - The An-Gho giving his hypothesis to his own Heralds.

Draconic alchemy is an ancient, long-forgotten practice, which was recently recovered, of manipulating matter to create potions using the material plane’s resources and draconic reagents that were gifted by the Arch-Drakaar, Azdromoth. Often associated with flame and heat-related practices, which often involve a fusion of processes between mundane alchemy, Draconic body parts, and/or manipulation of Draan.

In Draconic folklore, it was believed that these potions were mainly created by Azdromoth to serve nobody but the sons of Horen to protect themselves from outside threats, while there are rarely potions that are made to aid Azdrazi themselves, especially when they lack the ability to indulge potions. These potions were given as gifts to saints and rulers for accepting them in their societies peacefully and for Heralds to utilize, due to their limited magical abilities.

It was believed the ancient knowledge was lost after Iblees and his followers completely wiped out the knowledge, making most of the Azdrazi forget about its existence, and it has been one of their goals to gain the secrets back, for The Titan’s pleasure.

Reagents:

Liquid Draan:

Spoiler

Sign(s):

Aether

Fire

Symbol(s):

Heat x3

Burning x2

Light x1

Rage x1

Appearance:

A substance, commonly known as Draconic mana, that gives a light glow.

Location:

The bloodstreams of Heralds and Azdrazi.

Harvesting:

When a herald or an Azdrazi focuses their Draan into a certain part of their body (e.g their palm), they allow the substance to be extracted. The method of this extraction is usually by way of slicing the skin open and collecting the blood. The boiling of the blood thereafter will result in the separation between the reagent and the plasma. For every pint of blood, there is a vial worth of Draan.

Ordained Heralds of Azdromoth can only extract 1x vial worth of Draan every 3 months (3 OOC days) due to them not being completely Draconic. While Nephilims can extract as much as they can, however, it is usually advised 1x vial per OOC day, in order to not affect their inner-flame negatively. Feat Heralds are unable to extract Draan.

Raw Effect(s):

Draan on its own can be served as a heating and dim-lighting reagent, which is the reason why Nephilim Blood can be stored in lanterns to be served as a lighting material. However, Draan differs between Heralds, Ordained Heralds, and Nephilims, and it is believed it acts as their mana, just like liquid mana for ordinary mages.

Redlines:

-Draan on its own would never cause burns to someone. It would only cause a discomforting sensation akin to someone holding a warm bowl of soup for too long without protection.

-Draan must be focused by either Azdrazi or Herald in the area they wish to cut before extracting it.

-Draan has a similar lighting as a Redstone torch.

-Draan cannot be extracted from Feat Heralds.

-Differences between Herald and Azdrazi Draan are purely aesthetic. Azdrazi Draan would take a colorful shade of their Dragonsflame.

Recipes

Bane of Malghourn:

Spoiler

Brief Description:

Legends in Draconic Tales state that It was believed that this potion was created by Azdromoth himself to serve as a punishment to Malghourn for creating ‘slaves’ to serve him while their main source of survival was feeding onto the people Azdromoth swore to protect. Hence Azdromoth decided to create a potion in order to aid the sons of Horen in protecting themselves against the slaves of Malghourn, which turns their blood into a toxic, burning substance that would nullify the use of blood to the Silitis & Corcituras, and any other type of Vampyre. The blood would turn into a burning, poisonous substance that would reverse the effects of normal blood.

Recipe

Salt Water (base)

Vial of Draan x1/x2

Vial of  Liquid Aurum x1

Vigour x3

Poison x2

Creation (Optional, only if it requires a specific process):

1.Begin the process by getting a cauldron quarter-full of salt water.

2.Add either a vial or two full of Draan and mix until the salt water has a bright orange glow into it, and then add a vial full of Liquid Aurum until the mixture is near gold in color.

3. Add 3 units of Vigour and 2 units of Poison afterwards

4.Wait until the cauldron boils out half of its content, leaving ⅛ of the cauldron remain, then turn off the heat to cool off.

5. Once cooled down, collect the remnant of the solution inside a container to be used after.

Effects:

Upon drinking the concoction, the user would be protected from vampire attacks for either 15 OOC minutes (x1 Draan Version) or 30 OOC minutes (x2 Draan), or till the remainder of combat for both. The blood would start to boil once contact was made with a Vampire, acting as a highly concentrated corrosive acid, granting then second-degree burns on contact. Upon feeding, the vampire would feel the blood had no feeding benefits, rendering it useless, while the blood drunk would be highly toxic and agonizing to drink, making the blood almost impossible to feed on. If a vampire decides to still feed on the user, it is most likely that the vampire will die before the user. When the potion’s effects fades, the user would feel extremely ill due to increased body temperatures (hyperthermia) for an entire OOC day, causing them to be as weak as a Voidal Mage. It is heavily advisable to not consume two potions in the same day, whichever one is, or else the user would die from health complications, such as kidney failure and hyperthermia.

Redlines:

-This Potion only works on Vampires. Frost Witches and other Beasts can still draw blood with no side effect

-Hyperthermia must be roleplayed for a whole OOC day, with fever-like symptoms

-Those with a Healthy Body mutation are not immune to hyperthermia.

-Vampires touching the affected blood would feel like concentrated corrosive acid burning the skin.

-The effects would either last till the remainder of combat or 15/30 OOC minutes, depending on the type of potion created and whichever comes first.

-If a Vampire attempted to draw blood, they would be repulsed and hurt. Drinking the blood will give no positive results, and perhaps the Vampire may die before the user dies from blood loss, if they insist on ignoring the excruciating pain from the burns to feed.

-If one drank the potion more than once in an OOC day, the user would die once the second potion effects faded from increased body temperatures & poisoning.

-Rare Recipe; it must be taught in roleplay.

-Requires ST Signature

Dragur’s Wax:

Spoiler

Brief Description:

A product created by mixing lard with Nephillic dead skin in order to create a fire-resistant wax that may be applied over objects or skin to temporarily protect them from burns and flames.

Recipe

Lard (base)

x1 Vial of Draan

2x Draconic Scales

Lethargy x2

Endurance x2

Creation (Optional, only if it requires a specific process):

  1. Get a decent chunk of Lard and place it into the Cauldron and heat it up inside boiling water where it would dissolve.

  2. Crush 2 chunks of Draconic Scales until it forms a fine powder inside then chuck it inside the Cauldron.

  3. Mix thoroughly both until they become soft and almost liquid-like.

  4. Add x2 signs of Lethargy and Endurance in order to give the wax properties of heat-like resistance.

  5. Wait for the water to boil out and cool down until a hard wax-like product remains inside the Cauldron, scoop it up until it fills a jar worth of wax.

Effects:

Upon usage, the item / user would be immune to burns for a limited amount of time. (4) emotes for 1st degree burns, (3) second-degree, and (2) emotes for third-degree burns in combat only. Meanwhile for up to 45-60 minutes in non-combative situations. This however has no effect against mal-flame or true draconic flames. Upon contact, the flame would instead eat away the wax, keeping whatever is beneath it untouched while the wax and flames eat away each other. Once the effects are over, the user would have an uncontrollable sense of itching that would keep one unable to emote a combative emote for a whole turn, while moving 4 blocks max.

Spoiler

Chart:

The item will be used to soak up the regents. Depending on the item, it will require more. Use this chart for reference:

Small: Anything the size of a Beach Ball-sized max. | (1 Jar)

Medium: Size of a Labrador / Halfling max / 1x1 block. | (2 Jars)

Large: Size of a regular descendant or 2x2 block. | (3 Jars)

X Large: Size of an Orc/Olog or 3x3 block. | (4 Jars)

Anything larger would be used on Events only under ET supervision and would require more than 4 Jars. The Amount depends on the ST’s request.

Redlines:

-This potion would not be used to give mechanical advantages (i.e swimming in lava) though walking through a path of flames is fine. As long as it has a reasonable end.

-The flames and the layer of wax automatically disappear when in contact with each other.

-The wax has no effects with Malflame or true Dragonsflame.

-Requires ST signature

-Rare; must be taught in Roleplay.

What is the point of creating liquid draan as its own Reagent when you could just use liquid mana?

As for Bane of Malghourn hypothermia makes no sense, heat stroke or shock should be used instead for the negative effect. Hypothermia would come from your body being cooled while heat stroke comes from becoming too warm. Then moving from hot to cooling too fast could cause shock with more uses of it.

As well how many emotes is 15 or 30 ooc emotes equivalent to for its duration since it is a combative use potion.

Also what's really the reason for draugurs wax? Ordained heralds have a spell that can prevent then from being hit with fire and azdrazi are immune to fire bar true dragons flame and malflame. There's also items like rokodra which have a similar yet better effect than this potion. It just seems like Alchemy bloat to make yet another fire proofing item especially since its generally guarded to the Azdrazi community with liquid draan as a Reagent

- liquid draan should just be liquid mana, it generally makes more sense and avoids the potions being needlessly blocked.

The use of azdrazi scales is good for something like the wax since that can be obtained whether or not you ally with the Azdrazi

You clearly have misread the entire thing. I did say HYPERthermia, not HYPOthermia. Which means the body temperatures would increase more than normal whenever feeling sick. This is mainly used to balance out the use of the potion so the Corcituras would not starve to death.

If you read the introduction, Draconic Alchemy was not really made for just Heralds but also for regular humans.  Liquid Draan is just the 'lifeforce' of which Azdromoth blessed the heralds to utilize their spells or magics.  Hence, it would be a necessary reagent for it to differentiate between regular alchemy and Draconic, just like Necromancers with Lifeforce and Naztheraks with Rakir. Making it just Liquid Mana would be out of place, especially when Azdrazis themselves cannot extract that due to their anti-magical properties, so why would it be called draconic alchemy if it’s just no different than the others? It also plays an important role in not making it widespread, just so it wouldn't be overused and overpowered. If all things fail, least I can do is just submit the Liquid Draan as an addition to the Canon Energies.  As for how many emotes in combat, Its really up to the ST to decide on that.

Though if you have any more concerns, feel free to shoot it <3

Draan is held within the marks branded onto a herald, I don’t see how channeling it into your arm and then bleeding before extracting the draan, gives you the substance. The process just doesn’t make much sense especially with how Draan works with something like binding.

From what I’ve seen in the past from ST is that nearly any MA is capable of creating liquid mana but I’d check depending on the canon source with a case like necromancy or naztherak. That being said, Azdrazi are not anti-magical in the sense you’re saying with them not utilizing a form of mana. Dragonsflame does have properties that let it interact tangibly with magical beings and spells but it is not Thanhium or auric oil. Azdrazi, and by proxy I assume heraldry, use anima as a source of energy.

This means that Azdrazi have mana in that from: “The main ‘purpose’ of anima in mortals and deities is to facilitate mana production. There is a direct correlation between how much anima a soul has and its magical potency.

And emote count with irl duration is in pretty much any potion with a lasting effect, but I’m not sure exactly how those limits are calculated between emotes and minutes or if that’s added later by ST or not. I simply asked because I’m used to seeing it everywhere.
