TO THE ROYAL HOUSES ALSTION, D'ATRUS, STASSION: I am writing this letter as it has been brought to my attention that the color purple (and the combination of purple and gold) is associated with your families, and while this is all well and good, I was recently approached by a human merchant while buying dyes, who queried why I was using 'Balianite and Aaunic colors'. This, I found deeply offensive, however I have not lodged a grudge, as I have been cautioned to assume ignorance rather than malice. All the same, I write to you now to dispel this misconception. Elder Clan Starbreaker, that being among the Elder Clans of Urguan, founded at the dawn of our race, has utilized the color combination of purple-gold-black since the year 1650, when it was adopted by my father, Kazrin Starbreaker, as the previous clan colors, gold and sky-blue, had caused too much confusion between ourselves and Elder Clan Goldhand, who utilized gold and royal-blue. During this time period, the House of Horen favored purple-black. However, as you well know, (and I, for I was there) the House of Horen was dissolved, therefore, purple-gold ceased to be Horenic colors, as there was no longer a Horenic dynasty. The utilization of these colors by my clan does, in fact, pre-date your families, and your nations as a whole, and I have proudly worn them now for over three centuries. As said, I will assume ignorance rather than malice, and so, formally and politely request that you adopt new royal colors, to differentiate yourselves from my clan, or at the very least, recognize my clan's seniority over them if you continue to use these colors.

Your reasons for retaining usage of my clan's colors are understandable. So long we are in agreement that they are, in fact, Starbreaker colors first, foremost, and originally, then I find the status quo agreeable enough.
