question about this- when it comes to hostage situations, it states that whoever the captive is can leave after 2 hours (unless royalty). in this case, are they free to just ss out? or would they need to just emote escaping? or would the people who are guarding the area/the person who captured them in the first place decide?

These changes are just for pursuing combat with soulstones. SSing out after a lapsed capture timer is still fine.

Question, if some one breaks the rules..
Why would they not get a Warning or a ban like every other type of punishment

Why would adding a Villainy blacklist be a good idea?

This is just a trial run to see how it might work, but realistically this either replaces or adds on to the 2nd or 3rd warning infractions which precede a ban in the current system. Think of it like a premium warning.

If we add navy movement can I institute blockades or dam my enemies' harbors? Can I build circumvallations around my enemies and Caesar the crap out of them?

Why does

"missing with line of sight constitute hinderance"?

So even though the person is able bodied. Running etc

And someone happens to miss a thrown rock or spell they're still hindered???

Is that what this means? Because that's stupid and prone to trolli g and arguments.

If they miss it shouldn't count towards hindrance imo - because by definition of hindrance they're not hindered. If it hits that's different.

Imo, I'd think in most cases, something is throwing/firing a projectile with some intent to hit the fleeing person or hinder their ability to flee, and the fleeing person must make some effort to avoid such dangers. If someone is doing low effort/troll emotes of throwing things to extend a flee without actually trying to impede, I think that would be rather easy to catch by a mod and just be bad-faith CRP.

we have magic blacklists because magic in and of itself is a restricted element of the server. villainy is not a restricted element so why are we reintroducing villainy blacklists? cannot express how much I disagree with this

I guess my simplest question is... why? for what tangible reason? if someone breaks the rules enough to warrant punishment, why mitigate that punishment by still allowing them access to the server at all? what's the point? why is simply enforcing the rules and banning people for things that are already against server rules not enough? ignoring the conceptual issue with it there's no way this can be implemented without introducing convoluted rules and case-by-case scenarios

this sucks please don't do villainy blacklists, just ban people if they break the rules

Punitive and restrictive measures to prevent poor roleplay of the very worst works way more effectively than banning.

Taking away types of roleplay that these people thrive on make so much of a better impact.
I did some blacklists when I was admin and effectively killed the momentum of really bad actors, they’re effective and I really hope the mods are liberal with them.

side note boat meta PvPCRP upgrade is crazy funny

This is to take into account the fact that spells and Bow emotes take 3-4  emote counts to do, and often times people choose to honour rp over roll. The person fleeing could, theoretically, just say *dodges and waste those emote count entirely to ensure their escape.

kek, omegalul, ROLF, lmfao.

im gonna wait and see how this rule is implemented cuz i wanna see if they also made sure to include a varying set of protocols for the number of situations I can already see that they're going to have to resolve or maybe absolve themselves of any wrong-doing by directing players to a different staff team for resolution. Hopefully they thought this one through enough.

General Roleplay 7.1

7. Your inventory, actions (ex. punching), and mechanical location are considered admissible in RP. You may not roleplay items that you do not currently possess in your inventory (this excludes small, non-combat and non-magical trinkets such as rings and necklaces).

Does this also include needing to have a suit of armour in your inventory if you want to wear one in RP?

This one has been on my mind lately as there are people that only put on an armour skin without carrying any sort of armour in their inventory.
