What will make it difficult is if your guy joined from xyz pvp server the week before and can barely string a coherent sentence together. In which case, them not getting through the filter means it's working as intended

I don't think recruiting off server is a problem. Players who were off server have stuck around and assimilated to the server. Olpx, larry, sebby, smallest_clouds there are many who have stuck around and become LOTCers. There have been many pvp recruiter waves that preceded vinovia. I get that LOTC is uncomfortable with pvp and warclaims and is moving towards DnD but I think its ridiculous that the staff ethos is 'we should have fewer people participate in our content'.

 

I think writing peoples apps is bad and wrong. If people are on the server and have bad quality rp then they should be banned.

Just seems like an overreaction. Ringo is perma banned and the back of vinovia is broken. Blackvale is gone, ferrymen are gone, flays are gone, reivers are gone. There are no pvp groups left.

I also don't think recruiting off server is a problem in and of itself. Imo it becomes a problem when the off server recruiting is specifically for war. Because war on LOTC is pvp, players who join specifically for war are joining for pvp, not for RP. So while some may have stuck around after the fact, there are plenty more who don't.

 

If there are people you meet on a pvp/factions server who you think would genuinely enjoy RP, by all means invite them along! It just speaks to bad intentions when these people are only invited at the inception of a conflict, and that this recruiting is done en masse, quantity over quality.

 

I don't want to back and forth in forum replies anymore, so if you did want to talk about this further my discord dms are open :) If not, we can just settle on having a fundamental difference of opinion, which is also okay

The Administration Team is yet to clarify how conflict is exactly supposed to work with the currently ambiguous metaplay rules. These new war rules make no reference to that point and merely contribute to generate confusion and uncertainty with regard to the enforcement of the server rules amongst conflict roleplayers after the latest metaplay ban wave.

 

The lack of action of the Administration Team regarding the aforementioned matter is currently causing a massive loss of conflict players and conflict groups who feel abandoned by the Administration Team, which seems to favor non-conflict players and non-conflict groups.

 

Furthermore, I believe it is very self-explanatory how most of the players who seem to be fine with the current enforcement of the conflict rules simply have never engaged in conflict situations in the roleplay at all. The reality is that conflict situations in the roleplay (wars, coups, rebellions, raids, ...) often bring disputes between both of the parties involved and, therefore, requires server rules that are clearly outlined and are not subject to the undisclosed arbitrary interpretation of the Administration Team.

If a player is about to be banned and it leaks back to them giving them an opportunity to log on rq there should be repercussion's to them then logging on with the soul purpose of distributing their items around, i think its a bit unfair :3 especially when the people who've lost items to tos n perma pcv'd players can now never get them back bcs of this ruling.

Why need pvp groups for conflict. Just need to escape every conflict leading to the intervention of some pvp group w nothing to do w it or becoming a toxic mess of old scores (haense VS X group). Then normal ppl will have more fun and want to pvp more and not look at big conflicts as same old same old behind the scenes crap instead of actually being abt real rp stuff.

 

Its more fulfilling anyway if ppl feel like they matter and arent just some grunt running around doing as commanded by some1 who appeared solely for the conflict and has no real stake in it beyond pvp video and ooc bandana rivalry.

Modern problems require modern solutions.

 

Disable pvp and make it so war is done through actions of roleplay then deciding it all ends with 1- x amount pvp battles. Make war actually have length to it aside from mere farming runs and faction tiles to rp skirmishs or to destroy stuff.

 

And before ya say "players don't got time"

 

Then dont do something ya wont commit to and let rp take over instead of this dead recruit pvp from hypixel stuff to then never come back 95% of the time. Love the fact theres a means to enforce the method of having skme more experiance then the afk farms for eligibility.

 

This is semi serious rant :thinkfish:.

 

But yea, more rp needs to be done for war in general. Too much stuff relies on metaplay In this era and its boiled down even more to just a faction mechanic that has only been used for conquest. You will never see any other wargoal used on this server less its deliberate. Ty for my 12 pm ted talk. :3
