Alex your fellow admin handled a pcswift ban report 2 years ago and approved racism so long as it was tasteful. Servers a joke and so is avoiding consequences. It’s common sense to avoid harmful topics, it’s common sense to NOT do things that make people feel uncomfortable. These rules should’ve been implemented when telanir made a stance saying “these aren’t the values we want on lotc” instead you’re using pride month to virtue signal rep to try and get people to forget. I won’t forget, admins have banned my friends for 3 months to half a year for meta play, you don’t get to walk away from this without

We've had threads that hashed this out for years but the Admins just ignored them all until they decided to rush a rule out with 0 thought or nuisance.

 

Like, should using IRL slurs IRP be banned? Sure. And while I have literally never seen this happen (despite claims to the contrary), people shouldn't be hunting down gay characters or anything like that IRP. It's a good thing to limit RP to a degree that it doesn't make people uncomfortable. Same reason we allow murder but not grape, racism against elves but not against black humans - some forms of hostile RP are too real and traumatic for many players and make it impossible to separate RP from OOC. That's all well and good.

 

But it has to be within reason. Should we ban armed robbery RP because we surely have players who've mugged IRL? And we make a big deal about how this is a "medieval setting, strict techlock" when it comes to guns, but now we're gradually banning characters having any attitudes that don't conform to 21st century Western norms. Don't you think it'd be a bit ridiculous if a bandit warlord at war with Oren, slitting the throats of its peasants for fun in Coalition War #12478, obediently respected the Emperor's transition and avoided using her deadname like a good progressive liberal? Well that's what he'll have to do under pain of ban.

 

The next step, when the sexism rule comes in, will be to ban nobles if they respond to their wives aborting their heirs with anything other than "you go, girl!".

Isn't it great how great of an emphasis there is being put on being "homophobic", "racist" and being "transphobic". But when someone of the said community of the LGBTQ+ makes fun of an IRL religious person due to their traditional values that are being practiced such as marriage between man and woman there is an immediate bias and the religious person is immediately made fun of. Funny that is.

 

I recall someone and multiple people making the claim that Jesus Christ was “gay” and claimed that He had intercourse with His apostles, no reprimanding was ever done but I guess that just proves how scared people are to be put up with this bullshit. Distinguish the IRP and OOC for once in your life and stop making the claim that because someone says this IRP that its because of their IRL religion, see a psychiatrist at that point or find a religion.

 

I haven’t been online for a long time but that is simply because of this type of ideology being forced upon and having to act along with it.

There is a distinction between wanting a marriage between a man and a woman and saying that not being able to be homophobic anymore is an impediment or "ban" on one's religion.
