My motivation:

As I said before I'm mainly interested in planning the towns and cities (and roads, no straight boring ones...), there is a lot of talent on the server, and people build beautiful buildings, but the thing I want to fix is that a lot of those cities don't have a good layout (bad for RP, looks unrealistic). A lot of cities are also build too fast, without having a change to grow as a good community, this is partly their own fault (Alras for example, too high prices, always building new things), and partly due to the choices of other people (Places of the spawn/capitals of the races). I want to help improve this to provide a better roleplaying experience for everyone.

I don't know how well received this idea might be, but if there was a clear cut wall around the main capital (which should be a small compact city with too much running water and maybe a 4 or 5 block high wall) then the area around the walls should be unprotected to let slums come up. It always bothered me that there are so many homeless people but they can't settle anywhere. Typically terribly built structures are built right up against the walls of cities and they get burned down when a siege happens. I mean it would need to be regulated in a way; no towering, no strip mining or unrealistic structures. I think it'd be interesting but I do see the set backs with it that would make this idea too much of a hassle.

We need more Saints, Aenguls, and Daemons to worship. We have Saint Daniel and Aeriel and that is it. We have the nameless god but everyone seems to believe Aeriel is the chief deity of Aegis. I think we should probably do away with the god of Aegis and replace it with a monotheistic religion that can be manipulated. The Aenguls and daemons that each race chooses to worship should play a larger role in each nation, and human saints might not be worshiped by the other races.

The humans need an Aengul or daemon of harvest, the forests, the mountains, rivers, ect. Like patrons of specific crafts. Then we can have our saints and heroes like Daniel and unnamed heroes we don't have many of.

A more organized inner city would be lovely more gridlike, but the further out it goes the less organized it gets. Larger buildings in the middle smaller poorer buildings on the outside.

We should also start with two or three towns since the humans are the largest race. The capital, a border town primarily farming, a fishing town, and a mining town. Just so we have the essentials and everyone isn't just ridiculously homeless all the time.

While playing skyrim I have noticed that there are a very vast amount of daedra that certain races adopt as well as certain clans. It got me thinking of how we can possibly influence the new world and adopt new lore with the process of developing richer player based lore. I know this may be difficult but if you do in fact want more wars and conflict between the races then religion would be an excellent excuse. Religion has been the center of conflict for millenias, one of the more prominent clans, the Teutonic order, is based off of devout Christians exterminating the pagan religions.

Im not saying we start making shrines to talos or anything but I do think it would pose some exciting new RP contrary to the usual "praise Iblees" "aerial will prevail" with the all powerful undead and enlightened, which no offense to you guys, does get a little stale over this much time. I think it would open doors for players to explore different aspects of RP whether it's a priest, perhaps a warrior monk protecting his shrine from followers of another diety? Etc.

If you do enjoy this concept I could perhaps assist in writing lore. It would have it's similarities with elder scrolls polytheism but it would stop there I would make everything else from my original ideas

Ninja,

As I have discussed with the group in the past, I'd like to continue working on religious development, specifically applied to the humans, along with the development of a sovereign religious "capital" within Oren, similar to the Vatican. If anyone is interested, we can form a group to work on further developing the "human" religion.

Ninja explained to me how the city will be in sections. Each district has its own walls, so you have to fight through every section to even get to the keep. So maybe a religious district?

Ps: redskye made most of the castle's foundation, I think pepper just finished what red started

Religion is going to be much more closely looked at for Aegis 2.0 and expanded upon. No longer will every race be beholden to the same creation story and religious beliefs. There will be room for other spiritual views. Although, you might want to check out the Druids now, they have that whole nature worship thing going on...as do the elves.

A bit off topic, but since your back, Chad, we should talk. As Lore Developer, religion ties sort of closely to what I do, which I know your involved with. We should share thoughts sometime.

C'mon people suggest stuff! Any suggestion is a good suggestion, and we need more ideas to develop.
