The Mountain of our Fathers, or Alorin for short.

Why is your character starting this village/settlement? What is its purpose?

In Mountaintamer culture, one of the greatest tasks in life is to claim a mountain for yourself and raise your family there. Alyssi also believes that her family back home, far away in their Aegis mountains, are dead, and feels that is up to her to both preserve and prolong the Mountaintamer culture and way of life. She has recently been spurred on in her quest to "tame" a mountain after the birth of her child and what she believes to be the urging of the spirits.

What type of political system or leadership is within the village?

Government

The Mountaintamers are led by a council of six elected officials. The council is made up of four priests or priestesses whose roles are to commune with the spirits and let their will be known, an Elder, generally one who has served on the council before or who is very wise and the current reigning Mother or Father.

A new council is voted upon by the people every four years, except for the Mother or Father, who is chosen every ten years. A council member may step down at any time and for any reason. They are allowed to name who they would like to be their replacement, though it is ultimately up to the council to decide.

Their main purpose is to convene during times of hardship or war, or whenever an important decision must be made. When times are otherwise peaceful and calm, the council goes about doing whatever their other duties are, be that hunting, farming or sinking drunkenly through the streets.

Roles

Wolf's Hunter/Huntress - The head priest/ess for Wolf.

Bird's Seer - The head priest/ess for Bird.

Bull's Warrior - The head priest/ess for Bull. Also acts as acting commander over the "army" in times of war.

Boar's Craftsman/woman - The head priest/ess for Boar. Sometimes double as the head merchant. The head merchant's role is to lead caravans from the homelands for those wishing to trade with outsiders.

Since there will be few residents, Alyssi will act as Mother till a full council can be formed.

What sort of behavior will residents exhibit? (Race relations, nation relations, etc.)

The Mountaintamers will be a rather peacful group who spend their time hunting, telling stories, feasting and just generally relaxing. They don't view any race or nation as inherently evil, and would only attack to preserve the safety of their home.
