Asulon, Antagonist Lore Recap

Hey there LoTC,

Shiftnative here with some lore for ya, most of all of what is listed below has actually happened through-out the servers life and has proven to be quite a tale. Just about all of which has happened, stems from in-game happenings.

Villager Lore

"Villagers from the west, came to Aegis shortly after the Ascended city of Haven was destroyed. These villagers built quaint homes on the very land that harbored the powerful race. It was not long before bandits visited the land along the White Road and the villagers were run out of their homes. With their hamlet looted and taken, they fled westward from once they came.

They watched as Aegis burned slowly from tip to tip and knew they too would be forced to flee. After the warriors entered Drauchriem, the villagers veiled their faces and followed behind the races of Aegis into the obsidian portal to what was known as - "The Verge."

Once the villagers arrived in Asulon, they quickly found the remnants and ruins of the ancestors - or so they believed. Many relics and texts were recovered by the villagers and eventually many clues tied toward an island referred to as, "Adyton Island"(Not to be entered). The texts spoke of a catacomb so old and safe-guarded that it is said to hold ancient keys to the past.

Before the villagers were strong enough to act however, the infinitely prosperous and powerful races of Aegis opened a mining colony on the very land they sought to protect. The villagers quickly intervened and purchased the northern end of the island from the miners and named their town "Lysistrata"(to break loose). They did not tell the miners just what lay on their end of the island and they sought to keep it from the rest of the realm.

They immediately established borders with the miners and with the agreement met, it meant the catacombs would be safe. Until unknown miners, or explorers found their way beyond the borders of this agreement and looted the catacombs the villagers have fought for. They were found desecrated, tomes and relics strewn about and in the pockets of many."

This final act pushed the villagers to the breaking point and they fixed their gaze on dark arts. Crafting scrolls and manipulating creatures of their choosing through texts found in their ancestors ruins. These once common villagers slowly began to become more and more like cultists.

The miners whom establish the mining quarry at Adyton island were soon raided by pirates and forced to start a new colony elsewhere. They did so at what was known as "Xanthos" isle, to the west and deep within Xanthos mines a sandstone ruin, two books written by Wilven Adonan and an Emerald block were recovered by explorers. These explorers distributed the books as they pleased and it was not long before they ended up in the hands of the Villager cultists.

Here are the two books below,

Now that the villagers know just what may lay to the east, they have been looking for a spell strong enough to clear a passage.

Twenty years or more ago though, Karik Dwarves uncovered two drakes in the belly of their ancestors halls. The drakes spat fire and destroyed much of the city, chasing the dwarves out of the kingdom. Rumors and legend spread over Asulon and as time passed, the myths grew fewer and tongues quieter. Until a miner, banished from Xanthos for thievery strolled about selling ancient goblin books, written in common. Speaking of the goblin over-hearing ancient Karik Dwarves whispering about drakes eggs in the city.

Many turned the thief down, as he would not allow them to view the tomes contents or thought he was a fool in believing such an old tale. Until a cloaked figure offered to trade the thief land and the he obliged - but this thief was indeed clever. The tome was one of three, and he knew he could make a far better profit selling them individually. So he sold the other tomes to the Villagers, knowing how angry the Xanthos miners would be if they knew he gave their enemies stolen goods from the mines.

Once the villagers had purchased the tomes and their lord read them over he decided to act swiftly by sending their drakes to Kal'dwain to destroy the Dwarven ships. However, the Wandering Wizard intervened and assisted the Dwarves in slaying the winged beasts.

At this point, the Lord of Lysistrata has become livid and seeks to carry out one final act before fleeing eastward through the fog toward the land our characters ancestors were too cursed to make it to. (LoTC 3.0)

We hope to carry out the Lord of Lysistrata's final act sometime in November and I hope this got us all reading from the same page ;]

and remember, much of this has been preserved by not Meta-Gaming. Let's keep it that way!

Thank you for reading

Small tomb, lapis blocks inside with a single crypt with a sloped ceiling with parts of stone brick and parts of the walls of just smooth stone? Was one of ruins I came across during Tenshar's digs in Adyton, but he left it in tact and untouched with whatever loot was there still in the crypt, but I assume by its condition he was likely the first, so more must of found it even after he resealed the the path to it since part of Tenshar's explorer roleplay is crypts and graves are off limits, playing against the odds of something bad happening is never a good investment. I loved finding things in Adyton, like the two original journals (Not any of the journals mentioned above, mind you) and exploring the second ruin near by and having urasept stop by to check it out, loved that it had descriptive signs telling you what you were meant to see.

Honestly this world has been much more storyline driven, with events connected in ways only the very well informed can see, and it's been pleasant. I only hope the next one continues on this path.

(feel free to edit if anything here might give something away)

TL;DR, Can we ride dragons and shoot fireballs yet?

:P

Very nice to see all of this information collected in one place. I've been waiting for this story to unfold since the first video. These events and locations have been a pretty nice progression, even though I haven't been able to experience or explore them all entirely. Good stuff, keep it coming. Ned Lud'Gorkil's still looking for burning bones and black mushroom goo fire.

I feel sort of at fault.. cause I was part of the group that sort of.. hijacked the village that spawned where haven was .3.

The Lysistrata villagers shall destroy you all~!

Though in somewhat more seriousness, I look forward for the Event Team and GMs to work together for the upcoming events. >:3
