I agree with the idea of making it members, but giving the members restrictions/donators perks. You might go and say "Well duuh, of course you would you non-donator. Noob." but honestly, if only the donators could make them then the shops would still be spread few and far apart. So maybe make it so that members can make 1-3 shops? This might seem like a lot, but there are hundreds of items to sell, and each chest would only be able to sell a few (I think).

Also, if possible I think it would be great to implement a system which allows you to right click (or maybe left click, either way) the chest that the shop is based from as if you were opening it, then it display the menu type thing which has the items sold and their prices. One more thing, I think it would be nice for it to show stock, as many plugins don't and it can become extremely annoying. Just my two cents.

I like every part about this idea except for the 500 mina part. I believe that the cost of a shop should be even more. In real life, when a person opens a shop, risk is a very large contributing factor in a shopkeepers worries. If you made the price higher, people would actually have to consider making the shop and maintaining it, rather then seeing a bunch of abandoned tents and people that wouldn't actually be able to afford a shop with their character.

I'm sure this has said before but I'd like to see the shop price increased, to give it more of a risk factor so players are forced to seriously consider this to avoid a multitude of unattended shops.

I am disappointed by the sheer number of people calling for higher prices for shops. There seems to be some sort of attitude that the average player shouldn't be able to do anything. Combined with excessive regions and the sheer number of applications to be completed, I'm surprised LotC gets any new players at all.

Is there no such thing as a poor stallkeeper? Where are the peddlers? This opportunity should not be limited to the kings, queens and mob grinders.

If anything this fee would increase the RP, now players may band together to create a shop and have an actual business rather then it being set up a region, come back once a week to refill it. Which was one of the problems in Aegis.

People feel a greater accomplishment when they work for something rather then something they can get easily. Which in effect would cause them to like their shops they worked for more and take care of it better. A Higher fee does not make it impossible, it makes it so players don't set up non-rp shops. Not everything you have to work for is the sin of the server.

Money is not an indicator of RP quality, and high fees do not prevent non-RP shops. A quality roleplayer will form connections to restock their shop and make it a central part of their RP, as they should. A poor quality roleplayer will always fulfil the bare minimum of the game mechanics, regardless of initial cost.

The idea that a higher fee will somehow force non-RPers to RP is a far-fetched at best. It just won't work, and never has. However, raising the cost will create a headache for those who are not well-established in the server, and those who prefer to RP rather than running out to the wilderness to make minas.

This seems like a VERY good idea. I just want to see how long it lasts and what bugs it has before it enters LOTC, since all shop plugins seem to last a day.

Also, the price of creating a shop should be raised BECAUSE poor people would never be able to hire a shopkeeper. So before people can hire a shopkeep, they have to sell their wares THEMSELVES until they have enough money, understand?

And we also don't want people joining the server and immediately having stores...

The plugin would be extensively tested due to it being coded by our own coders, ensuring its as close to being bug-free as possible.

To continue on my previous post, teacher caught me during physics, if this plugin is tested to the point where it makes the "god chest" im possible and keeps the non-physical aspect that i loved then i will absolutly support this. I would however prefer minas returning to a non physical form i like the idea of physical banking things but not the physical mina themselves it would make the bulk transactions i usally did impossible to do safely becuase 1 peice of paper would hold an entire kingdom's budget and if a supprisingly common buggy mob finds you you get blamed and murdered RP'ly for a OOC thing.

Personally, I'd like to only have certain shops able to buy items FROM players, perhaps a GM has to add the capability, and the shop owner in question has to provide good, solid reason WHY their shop should do so.

Personally, I think the vast majority of shops SHOULD NOT be able to be sold to, players should only be able to buy FROM them. The exception to this in my eyes is perhaps having shops specifically set up by a City Leader to buy materials like logs, stone, food, etc from it's citizens, so it can somewhat automate giving payment to city workers.

Just my 2 cents.

I completely agree with this ^^

Yes, a poor character would not hire a shopkeeper. No, that not mean they cannot have a shop. The logical solution to that is to set the NPC's name as your own, and run the shop yourself... not deny the opportunity of a shop to those who are under-established on LotC.

On that note, the ability to temporarily dismiss your shopkeeper NPC would be nice. I can imagine players RPing their shop when online and using NPCs when offline ^_^

So I think you have to buy the shop area then buy a npc and have it so you buy more npcs to sell more items but you have a limit of npcs. does that make sense? and what do you think of my idea about directly interacting with the npcs like we did at the bank almost? like you have to right click them and all that so that its a physical thing not a walk within distance, type some commands and leave.

You should make a limit for mina bills, and the rest kept virtually in a "strongbox"
