-Players should not act like staff have no feelings or life.

-Players should consider greatly before blaming a staff member, who was chosen by trusted people to help out.

-Staff should add a reason to the modreq instead of just: Null. They could say "What do you mean?" or "I cannot do that, sorry."

This is what I think should be added.

To be quite honest, it is not staff that I have a problem with. It is the other players that bother me. When Asulon first came out, I remember that my soulstone took me to the elven city. But when I died, I went to cloud temple. I hated that, because If I got lost, and wanted to go back to cloud temple, I had to use the soulstone to go to the elven city, and then sail for 2 hours to find Cloud temple. So I posted my opinion, and got close to -5 rep, because other players who are "role-players" said to kill myself, and that is totally RP, right? wrong. How is it RP to kill yourself to transport yourself? But I was satisfied to find that fast travel was added in, but I can tell you that I was not happy other players, and in the end I was not sure that argument with the community was really worth it.

However, I do feel like I do not get to know the staff very well, and that would be nice, but I also do not think that the staff should have to say "have a nice day" unless they really mean it. A player can say "Have a nice day" and still not mean it at all. They would just be saying it because they feel like they have to.

I agree with these. As was said, the 'have a nice day' thing kinda makes it, it's always a pleasure to have someone actually show that they care about helping out the players after.

While staff RP'ing is fun and all, I'd rather staff be more focused on being staff than a player, although being a staff member and having the perspective of a player in important.

As long as the GM's don't lock themselves in channels, I'm happy. I know we could always message them if we needed something, but what if we wanted to just chill and talk? I personally feel weird PM'ing a GM, going "Hey Danny, can I have the pass to your channel?" It just makes me feel as if I'm intruding in their fun. That's me personally, though. Apart from that, I think these changes will be the things that save LotC.

I want staff to RP out some modreqs. Lol

Un-RP build?

GM:

*The house falls in due to its shoddyness*

Instead of

/modreq Un-RP build?

"Your modreq has been complete ; Comment: NULL"

GM:

//wand

//set grass

You have a right, to think or feel how you like about me, I well not force you to respect me or require you to do so.

But I wish to correct you on the fact that I controlled both the Humans/Orcs with little rp, First off when I took over the Orcs I was not an Admin, second when I took over Renatus I never took over all the Humans, I did do weeks of Rp until all the nobles recognized my Claim to Rule over Renatus, and then I worked from there to rule all the Humans there was no instantly take over humans.

Also I never controlled both nations at the same time when I became King of the Renatus I already had stepped down from being Rex.

I do not know what are you basing your opinion off of because I am quite sure you were inactive at that time.

sorry i have not been able to reply till now, at school. yes i was semi-inactive then as i have been most of my time on the server becuase of lack of real internets. im soryr i wasnt clearer in my earlier post, i didnt mena to imply you ruled them at the same time or that you had no RP for the position, but the RP for it i witnessed was well..lacking for a position of such importance. when it comes to ruling the orcs i know you wernt admin i RP'ed with you alot back then, i also agreed wiht the amount of RP it tookf or rule to take over the rocs due to there lore and the "government" of the orcs. What i dont agree with is the way you have RP'ed somethings and the way i ahve heard you talking to people in the orc TS. thw way you RP has offended many people, and the good you have done has not outweighed the bad. you scream at people who dont follow the lore of the orcs, yet you dont do anything about the elfs who havent follwoed lroe in along time? why?

Commendable ideas, I look forward to this coming into play, it should be conducive to a healthy role-play environment!

Players should be aware that the staff isn't out to get them and the staff should be aware that the players can be trusted and are reasonable people.

Great.

Though.

I think it's sad that you need to make rules for things like this.

It is really common sense.

At least from the place I got raised, born and live right now..

Be nice to each other.

Be open minded...

:)

Great to see something happen.

Better late than never.

I love this system. It touched on anything I could think of to improve the staff-player relationship :)

Here are my thoughts in no particular order:

  • No staff member should be in charge of a nation. Rather, a select few staff-members should be assigned to supervise that nation.
  • The staff need to be far more open to all players who provide strong, valid, and professional arguments. Hearing our opinions is a good first step, but I would like to see the admins answering questions in OOC chat, TeamSpeak, etc.
  • The power of the server seems to be spread way too thin. There are so many Admins and GMs now that I've lost track! I feel like we should go back to the times when only the most capable, trusted, active, social, and amicable LotC contributors were Admins.
  • The staff need to be professional representatives of our community. No trolling; Cut the laziness; Write presentable, organized, well thought out, and - for the love of God - grammatically correct news and lore posts; Do not put down or ignore the community; Roleplay with us more; Streamline current server plugins and develop new, engaging ones; Test, test, test! And do it on a test server unless it's absolutely necessary to put the server into development mode; Up-time = Play time = Satisfied Player; Be organized.
  • Staff members should personally work to make themselves more helpful and well-rounded people or else I think you deserve the community's unrest.

*If I add anything else I'll make an edit below here.

EDIT: Why so many server groups bro?: A, GM, FM, VAT, AT, ET, MT, LM, XS, Guide, Nation Leader. Don't you think some of them are a little vain? This corroborates what I was saying about the power being spread too thin. Of course the counterargument is that these positions are necessary for the ever-growing server, but it just naturally seems excessively bureaucratic.

Also, remember the Golden Rule. Treat others the way you wish to be treated. This applies to both players and GMs. If you wish for another player or GM to treat you with respect, you must also treat them with respect.

But i was told the golden rule is don't get anything the health department cant get rid of....

Anyways, I love these rules and i'd like to point out that i try RPing out of my group and other people tend to be unwilling to. could it be a suggestion that everyone try to RP out of their group? i'v seen a few GMs role-play with random people. I think its the players that don't RP out of their groups.

I personally think that if the staff tried to be too friendly all the time people would complain then too. The staff will never win.I have experiences.
