Embarking Toward A Solution [Nominations]

Elindor

Recommended Posts

Elindor has become so tired of all the talk from so many elves. He cannot bare to walk through the square anymore for the assault of opinions and empty claims. He walks up to stand in front of the well with a large piece of paper in hand. He clears his throat loudly and waits for a moment to have his voice heard.

"I have had my fill of these ideas being thrown around. Let us make some movement towards the future today."

He holds up the paper for all to see that it is in fact blank,

"Write the names of those you wish to nominate as a leader or leaders of this nation. This is nominations only so if a name is already up there is no need to write it again. Keep in mind what the nation requires: someone to handle money matters, someone who knows education, a voice that inspires, and above all else a face that represents us the people. I care not how they govern, and by the time we come to casting votes I should hope a system of governing would have been decided upon. But today I ask that you bring forward the names of those that are fit to lead."

Elindor places the paper upon the fountain, pressing his staff against it for a moment so that it magically holds. He tosses an inky quill into the air as he walks away.

After some time a few names remain on the list. Elindor returns on his way out of Malinor to examines the progress.

With only a few serious conciderations nominated, Elindor pulls down the notice and uses it to wrap up a raw trout. He mumbles something about a lack of maturity and then leaves without making eye contact with anyone.

((Please make all nominations clear so that others can quickly scroll through and +1 the name))

((some bookkeeping. I will update it as we go so if someone is on the list please don't nominate them again.

To avoid 'silly nominations' please second a nomination by +1ing the nomination reply, rather than writing your own reply and making things more lengthy than they need to be.

Nominees will require at least 3 +1s to make the list. Once they have that many they don't need anymore. We aren't voting for anything meaningful at this stage.

If you want you can suggest a role or title for your nominee.

Self nominations are valid.))

**Cir'dian steps to the board, looking it over with a smile. He slowly and very fluently writes down the name "Knox" On the board, before making his way off, humming merrily. **

Vanir looks at the board, and is struck by a question.
He scribbles a question by it.

"Nominations for head of what government? For what positions? We need to be told what is available."

Elindor walks out of the Tavern, having checked on their supplies, and returns, glancing over at the notice. He sees the question and scrunches his face up.

"For what is none of my concern. That will be the result of many long and boring conversations that may or may not be done before a group of worthy leaders is chosen. If you are so concerned then figure out how you would like the nation run. I just want to get things moving and care not for title."

Having meticulously watched nigh-on every note being placed upon the courtyard's surroundings, Bircalin takes attention as he spots Elindor placing his own note clearly seperated from the rest. Holding a mild understanding of Elindor's wisdom and typically articulate responses, Bircalin shows a greater deal of interest in the occurrence.

Having finished reading the paper placed upon the well, he nods approvingly to himself before deciding to not yet add his own name for the understanding of other possible candidates to prove themselves. His misty eyes cast their gaze frequently to the note, awaiting the responses of others dutifully.

Aelor Dread chuckles softly, his void filled helmet staring at the paper motionless. He also scribbles down the name "Knox," quickly.

Vanir, understanding what Elindor means, is still unconvinced.  ((Not sure what format your reply was in - note or speech, so consider mine ambiguous as well))

"But...if we do not know what positions they are to be nominated for, then what good is nominations at all? I have a new plan about the government I have been readying, and shall soon present.  I prepared it with..." Vanir trails off, his eyes showing sadness and a strange anger.
Taking a breath, he picks up his train of thought. "Well, I have a plan that has been prepared.  Perhaps nominations should be on hold until we decide on how the government will actually work? That seems to be in question at the moment...
And, well, if I can, I'd like to nominate myself to help set up a new government. Actually do something for the Mali, because they are made up of and voted in by the common Mali.  One that will be more active, if you know what I mean.

Replies with just as much ambiguity.

"And I will not stand in your way for a moment. But when you do have an established form of government you can thank me for having taken away the task of calling for nominations. When it comes time to hear who the citizens desire to represent them you may consult this list."

He places a quill in Vanir's hand.

"I am done talking and hearing others talk. Yet I will not walk away like some I have seen. These Mali are the ones who must comply with government. It is their preference that must be both feared and respected. Let us give them the power and stop talking about doing it."

Vanir shakes his head, fearing he was misunderstood.

"I am sorry, I meant no offense. I agree with this, and your reasoning. I just want it to be effectual, and understood."

He hands the quill back, his eyes seeming apologetic.

"I don't wish to be flippant with this. I shall do so, but I must think upon it first."

Cinder steps forward, putting his hand on the coal at his chest, unlocking it and writing thusly.

"Verin Etitlan. Longtime citizen of Malinor. Former Bard."

He shrugs, then puts the note on the area with it. He doubts he will be chosen, if he was? It would make for even more stress. He just walks away.

Arahael glances at the sheet, her eyes then flitted up to Elinder. Her lips parted slightly as if to say something, but then she presses it tightly to a thin line. Walked away.

With Azel gone, our options are limited. I support the mindlord, Polgrath. Azel's appointed sucsessor.

Ev notices the post, and attaches an unsigned note to it in distinct cursive.

"I also support Mindlord Polgrath."

Finds the note pinned nearby, he smirks and then smiles, knowing his opinion to be different than most, he begins to write a letter.

"I find that single leaders become corrupt, I appoint who the people vote in, and by people not the wealthy only! Every soul in Malinor should vote! And decide upon members for a council, from which appoint new laws at the hands of the people, the people choose whether it may be used or not used.

Happy he let his opinion out to the general public, he leaves, heading out for Kastoria.
