Alan 1815 Share Posted June 3, 2013 Sup again everyone! :) Just want to know what everyone thinks of the current Iron Mine! However, before you begin furiously typing away at your keyboard, note that I do NOT want replies complaining about the current mining system itself, as we are aware that it isn't the best (to put it mildly) and we are working on a new system as we speak that will be out as soon as we can, but rather I'd like to see some feedback and opinions on the actual mine. Although, if you do have a legitimate complaint or concern with the mine, please be sure to be constructive and offer us ideas for solutions rather than simply tell us what you believe the problem to be! If you are unsure as to how you should respond to this thread, here are some questions that you could answer. How does it feel exploring it? It is too big or too small? Should it be more dangerous or perhaps less? What do you suggest be done for the next mine, whether it's aesthetics or design? I and the rest of the GM Team would love to hear some input so that we can continue improving each and every mine that we release!
Elindor 666 Share Posted June 3, 2013 Are shops going to stop being supplied by GM iron? If so then I have no further comments about it other than Good Job.
Navin_ 99 Share Posted June 3, 2013 looks great, however you could stop teasing me with the large amounts of iron blocks.... :P
Dun_Irongut 104 Share Posted June 3, 2013 If these mines are to really supply all of Anthos, they must be quite expansive. More ore, more danger, more space (nooks an' crannies as well). In addition to this, Dwarven benefits? Sorry for the rather general statements, I'll try to form a more cohesive set of thoughts in a bit.
Caln McHarnish/porkchopp2 71 Share Posted June 3, 2013 It is extremely nice. So far I haven't died yet so let's put in more traps! Exploring is fun as I was always turning the corner expecting some arrows to shoot into me. The lava does hurt you quick though, and it is a fun place to go to. Alan 1815 Author Share Posted June 3, 2013 Great comments guys! Feel free to give more detail in your replies though, get creative! Suggest anything that you want to see in the next mine, whether it's as simple as an aesthetic section where you walk under a waterfall, or if it's a dangerous area where one must shimmy across the thin ledge of a gorge to reach the other side! I've also heard quite about traps and more danger, but I'd love to hear what you guys personally would like to see in regards to that. Maybe a path where the ground crumbles as you walk through it, or maybe some traditional booby traps where a wrong step will lead to arrows shooting at you or a boulder chasing you Indiana Jones style? Let us know!
ARCHITECUS 4788 Share Posted June 3, 2013 mo iron mo danger
TornadoWatch 364 Share Posted June 3, 2013 More iron. A LOT more iron. This 20 blocks every 14 hours doesn't cut it. At that rate, one month's worth of iron going to one faction will not supply an army for one single battle. It must be increased GREATLY.
Kairn. 17 Share Posted June 3, 2013 If these mines are to really supply all of Anthos, they must be quite expansive. More ore, more danger, more space (nooks an' crannies as well). In addition to this, Dwarven benefits? Agreeing with this, as well as another mine idea for when in-nation mines are added. Have a mine in Kal'Azgoth, which is expansive, but the entrance area is completely devoid of ores, causing large bands of dwarves to need to make multiple IC day trips into the deep catacombs. Of course I'd want this to rewarded with rare-but-large deposits, but it's all up to the Gms of course.
Raomir 1855 Share Posted June 3, 2013 I haven't visited the actual Iron mine yet. However from what I read in the launch post I believe I have a good amount of knowledge about it My main concern is that there is far to little iron in the mine. In the post it says there are roughly 20 iron ingots, that's almost just enough to make one set of Armour for one person. And in addition to this, it says the mine resets every 14 hours. I feel like that is just far to long and if you want to make it that long, then at least increase the amount of Iron in the mine. You said you think it would cause a random influx of iron, I disagree with this as well, 64 iron ingots would hardly cause an influx of iron. As the iron mine is now, it doesn't even affect the economy in the slightest, because the one person goes into the mine, gets his iron, makes his Armour and that's that. So I hope that in future mines this problem is addressed or perhaps you could make a change to this mine, but a change definitely needs to happen, because as it is now, barley anyone is getting anything out of the mine. Stag 3231 Share Posted June 3, 2013 I love the mines. I have done three mini-events in them and overall I just really appreciate the atmosphere of the mine. It is things like this that make this server shine for me. Sure the way ores are received is a little off but the mine itself is beautiful! I hope the second mine is even more expansive and perilous than this one. Let me know if you need help! I would love to help design it!
Merkaken 516 Share Posted June 3, 2013 The mine itself is great. I'm just not too happy with the whole 14 hour long respawn time is the only thing I could complain about.

I'm not certain but perhaps the intention is that there will be one or two more iron mines that will be released later on to help make iron more accessible. Anyway, I know most people will complain about iron being too rare but I hope that this will make it so that more people will rely more and more on more accessible and cheaper alternatives like leather, chainmail or hybrid combinations (example iron chestplate with leather boots and pants and a chainmail helmet). Lago 2572 Share Posted June 4, 2013 Perhaps reduce the respawn time a little? Or better, have the respawn time a random time between 1 and 10 hours. That way you can't predict when it will be full again based on when you mined it.
Stag 3231 Share Posted June 4, 2013 Lago of what I have heard is what they are doing the new system will far excel the current one.
