They have no fixed player limit and could grow if they want. And why wouldn't it need a spotlight? A spotlight doesn't mean showing what they do, but turning attention to them. If Oren was a tiny little ratty town with a handful of players it would need a spotlight, something that makes people turn to it and remember they are there. Perhaps even think "Hell, I've never played this race but now that there is something that might attract more RP to them, I might just try!"

Thats how it would be here.

(Not saying Kha lands are ratty, I love how they were built.)

@Tornado

Well then cease the war and try to improve relations.

I apologize, I had thought they had a fixed player base for some reason.

I just don't think it makes sense that a small island nation all of a sudden has a private iron mine, yet a nation with actual mountain ranges does not.

The Spanish conquistadors also come to mind. Just saying, as we don't have machine guns and stuff like that.

Hope it will be noticed that iron is the main resource and if dwarves have this then..yay? Emeralds, lapis and quartz can be easily bought from a GM-shop or players for a small price why should this promote nation trading? Iron and gold are the main mineral used and if one nation only have this then yeah there is a monopoly situation. Why sit on the elves by giving them emeralds..There are miners in the elven race just as there are miners in [insert whatever race you want here]. Giving a nation one mineral is more contributing instead of having Dwarves getting all the candy.

Well, firstly they do have a Volcano which is always rich in Minerals. (If we had diamonds, they'd be rolling in them).

Secondly, I think there is also a balance factor, sure you might have a mountain range but you're already the strongest nation on Anthos, will it really hurt you to have to actually go to other nations to get something instead of doing it all yourself. As Alan said it promotes diplomacy/trade between nations, etc...

And thirdly, not all mountains ranges are rich in iron. Maybe your own is a coal-rich range but lacks iron in it.

Actually due to independent capitalist merchants, trading isn't an issue AT ALL.

There's literally no trade that occurs between nations, because. for one example- everyone's always at war...

Actually, a quick google search on 'Volcano mining operation' only brings to results a mining operation based on sulphr...

And also, total human mountain ranges:

1. Abresi/Crownlands (Lots of mountain here surrounding the Capital)

2. Furnestock (Plenty of mountain)

3. Kaedrin (Mountain behind the Rose keep)

4. Hansetian mountains (World's biggest)

5. Mountains/ridge surrounding Green County

It's... really something remarkable that none of these mountains have any iron from an RP perspective.

Honestly, don't worry about it. There are countless work arounds. If all else fails, just do a constant raids to get what's needed. Issue easily fixed.

Too bad that's going to be OOCly blocked.

I like how one side of the ongoing war gets 100% of the new iron mines. Balance.

Look to the statement regarding OOC halting to IC conflict and situation. If someone seriously tries to stop what's happening IC OOCly, report them. It's against the rules now, unless I'm missing something.

Balance exactly. Since when did Oren lose a war?

There's ways to 'ICly' fix it.

"You wouldn't be able to get on that boat to raid us!"

"The Kha islands can't be invaded because of the thick jungle!"

"Metzili saves the Kha!"

... Y'know, like the shield that got put up over malinor once.

And... Wait.

You're saying that because Oren doesn't lose wars, it's OK to totally deprive them of iron mines so they (hopefully) lose a war? Last time I checked, it wasn't because of some kind of total deprivation of iron that the dwarven alliance lost that last battle.

Quartz? Cheap?

8 Quartz blocks are over 1000 minas. The dwarves should get all the candy, they build their cities underground and mine like crazy. Yah, there are miners in the elven race, but not as many miners as the dwarves or the other nations. The elves shouldn't get iron and stuff because they live in forests.
