I personally don't like any of these ideas. All of them allow for certian players to get the horses, I would like it for all players to get a horse by playing on the server for some time

And.. you can BUY a horse from those certain players.. or rp with them enough to maybe get one as a gift.. or steal a horse from one of those players..

In all honesty I don't feel like paying for a horse, my character does not value minas as a currency and it actually should never be valued as one, times are simple and you should keep them simple, you are making it hard for us if you make such a fundamental aspect of the game currency related.

Wait, we won't just accept that certain environs is feasible for horse species to exist in? AKA Horses in Minecraft? :3

Very Very Very Very Very Low Spawn Rates and Long Long Long Longitty Long Breeding Timers.

Idea 2

I want someone to start a rickshaw-like service... Driver rides a horse, leashing another horse or horses where the player/s can ride on and be taken to their destination. Gives the player a chance to talk with each other while heading somewhere; something that makes sense to occur, but is difficult with MC mechanics. I mean, I'd pay to have someone do the walking for me~ It's like fast-travelling, only not as fast and with more RP opportunities XD

First I love the /walk command, although would it be compatible with riding horses?

I like the idea Acornlad has, make them spawn at a very, very low rate and increase their breeding timers. Maybe making them breed once every few days oocly. Or maybe even a bit longer.

What would happen with my character if the GMs had all the horses to start? She has three horses already, she was gifted them by a close friend when they were foals and has raised them herself, all RPly. Recently one of her stallions has bred with her friend's mare. The filly was born and my character got a new job breeding and caring for horses. Anyways, my question is would I get those horses to start? I believe anyone like my character should be given their horses already RPed and therefore have a more realistic ease of horses into the community. Maybe GMs can have some affect too, but I believe the players should have a bigger impact.

i'm not sure if this was mentioned but, from everything iv seen lore wise about horses to varying races, again not sure if lotc will implement this but, some races don't like to use horses, and some races like the orcs for example would even scare horses. Dwarfs with their short stature prefer to be on the ground.  only races iv seen lore wise, who likes horses would be humans and elves, and the halflings would use donkeys or the young. just wanted to input this, again not sure if anyone mentioned this.

We should update to 1.6.1 now, with horse spawns at zero then figure this out.

Horses to everyone, just let them mc spawn and people tame them. Honestly this should be used to sort out our problem of taking a long time to get to capital. For example 7-10 minutes of sprint jumping down the road to get to Kal'Azgoth. The Gm village is a bridge to OOC anyway, and now we're using them to sell horses? Just let the players sort it out, I mean in some cases we need Gm's to sort things out. But I hardly think that horses in Minecraft require Gm's to hold us by the hand and sell us horses. So just let them spawn a lot  and the players can sort the rest out.

Horses need to be player run, and need to be widely available. As Dave said above me, sprint jumping is not fun for anyone- horses may help with population issues, or at least be a quality of life boost.
