Yes and by utilities I mean lockpicks. Lockpicks will be made by Tinkers, as Blacksmiths will already have plenty of work to go around.

A black market of these would sound intriguing haha. It may be more though, but I don't see any further necessary tools other than lockpicks. x3

*Cough* Crowbars/Doorbars *Cough*

This seems a lot better than just roleplaying it. Good job ;)

I must've missed this topic and I made a post in ideas about Lockpicking. I'm going to repost it here.

Since new year the changes to lockpicking state that you may use it to enter a home, but not a chest. One of my characters I specifically designed to be a burglar/heist man. With this new rule, this takes away from a large portion of my characters RP. I'm not whining and I am perfectly content if this rule sticks, I'm simply offering a proposal to fix the current system to give a chance to people like myself to RP as the villain of their choice.

My idea is as follows, when choosing to lockpick a chest you have to set a predetermined list of items you are looking for. Then after completing the lockpick RP successfully, as we had it before, the GM administering the 'event' searches the chest for a limited amount of the items specified on the list. If none are found, your efforts would be moot and you get nothing from the chest. Limited to one or two chests per household/day.

The GM's doing the event could also call upon an ET member or make an event themselves more often too and actually stop the thiefs or slow them down and attract attention atleast.

There would be a list of items you cannot search to prevent the whole "doing it to get rich" and promoting the "doing it to get what I need" type of villains. There would also be a couple generic groups such as food, wood, or saplings. Limits would be put on valuables no more than five or so ingots could be hauled off at a time, aswell as no more than a stack of any block. Items such as slimeballs, string, building blocks, would all have to be searched for specifically.

Anyways this was my best idea for a solution and I really would enjoy lockpicking of chests making a comeback.
