  1. A ghastly figure's gaze pours over one of the letters, a quiet sigh escaping him. He shakes his head, lips contorted in a small frown. "I should have done more to warn her. Enjoy your rest, Navi. I will see you soon."
  2. The orbs of light have always harmed regular folk. Personally, I think the whole "holy magic only hurts spooks" is super problematic. It lets holy magic users bullshit tiring, purely combative spells as ones used to "test" dark magic users to see if they're actually tainted or not, something that for the longest time has been a huge redline that holy magic users have repeatedly tried to violate as of late. Making it so they can hurt normal people is hardly an advantage, if anything it means they can't pull a "dark magic test" out of their ass with god-given spells meant purely to be combative.
  3. Not to toot my own horn, but there are several hubs that pretty reliably have RP happening within them. I'd refer to some of the place shighlighted here.
  4. I guess one other note I'll toss in is that how Tah has been perceived and RPed has changed vastly over the past four or so years. Initially, Tah was basically a nice Aengul, not much more. But eventually clerics started RPing him differently/interpreting what being the Aengul of Purity meant, and the lore eventually caught up with that. Not sure when Farryn started being a cleric, but it very well could have been during the times of Tahariae the Nice Aengul rather than Tahariae the ****. Also, get rid of the lame utterings and stuff, make them optional flavor stuff it's much cooler that wayyyyyyyyyyyy.
  5. In the past, shades could be healed by priest healing but it would be more than mild discomfort, instead being really painful. Not sure if this was meant as an intentional change or not, but saw that it said they would just face mild discomfort and figured I'd mention that. Not sure what the larger dispute is regarding shades, I admittedly haven't read all of this, but I am a shade and an LM and am happy to discuss things accordingly.
  6. Yah, the LT and MT basically never do the whole "x deity sends down a message to its followers informing them of y person's crimes and breaking of their oaths." However, it happens very occasionally when a deity magic user does things like going on killing sprees or torturing innocents.
  7. Remus, having already been informed of the situation at hand, finally takes the time to read one of the pamphlets. He chuckles, crumpling it up and tossing it aside. "I really don't get why they have to throw such a fuss. They were given three rules and they broke them. No matter, you wish to throw a fit when we've ousted you for murdering innocents, go right ahead." He proceeds to head home to play with his Switch.
  8. Icarus pins a copy of the Ikur'onn Sohaer System beneath the notice, whistling as he continued about his day afterward.
  9. GM Activity Project Links 7/18 - 7/24 Hail friends of Malinor. Today I’m here to provide you with the third activity project release. Above there’s a spoiler with links for our methodology, data, and the previous releases if you require more extensive information about the project. However, if you’d like a short overview of the project, our goal is to make it easier for players to find roleplay by regularly releasing information about region activity. I’d like to apologize for getting this one out a little bit later than I intended. I’m going to try and have these released every Tuesday from now on, as each period of activity project checks end on Monday. Like last time, I’ve compared each region found in this week’s data to last weeks’ data. Additionally, I’ve added an adjusted percentage of players in active regions which only takes into account players on Tahn, Asul and Ceru. This is because I’ve found that when there is a large number of people not on one of these islands, it’s often due to staff members in non-RP multiverse worlds rather than regular players sitting at spawn, causing a the percentage to skew downward slightly. Lastly, there were a few less checks done than we had last week, and a few days with markedly less data. It’s my hope that we can avoid this in the future, but there will unfortunately be times where real life inhibits members of this project from doing more checks. Fortunately, because this data is still an aggregate of three checks per day, we can still gather some broad trends regarding region activity from this even with some gaps. Now, on to the data... The Data If you took a moment to read the document linked earlier, you’ll know that we marked down any region that had 5 or more people in it consecutively. For the sake of this project, we will consider that to be “active.” I know it’s a bit arbitrary, but the line had to be drawn somewhere, and we think this is a good threshold. The following locations were found to be active on over 75% of our checks between July 18th and July 24th. -marbrandfief (Haense) -veris (Veris, previously 50%+) -orccapital (San’raakh) The following locations were found to be active on over 50% of our checks between July 18th and July 24th. -welvescapital (Linandria, previously 75%+) -warhawkeland (Leyu’celia, previously 50%+) -enchantryguild (The Enchantry, previously below 25%) The following locations were found to be active on over 25% of our checks between July 18th and July 24th. -island_highelf1 (Norland, previously 50%+) -ponce (Ponce) The following locations were found to be active on at least one of our checks between July 18th and July 24th. -dwarfsettlement1 (Tal’Ardoth) -guilddragur (The Library of Dragur) -mardonfief3 (Avon, no activity last week) -mardoncapital2 (Auguston) -arcadia (Arcadia) -welfsettlement2 (Metz) -suticacapital (Sutica) -mcdruids (The Wandering Grove) -helvescapital (Haelun’or) -azmarvalley (Tal’Azmar) -norlandisland2 (Norland, no activity last week) -dwarfcave (Jornheim?) -snelfcity (Velaris, no activity last week) On average, approximately 53% of players were found in regions with 5 or more players in them (the remaining percentage including spawn, staff members in the build world, etc.). This is a decrease of 7% from last week. An adjusted percentage (not counting players outside of Tahn, Ceru and Asul) is 56%. On average, approximately 58% of players were found in regions with 5 or more players in them when 100 or more players were online. This is a decrease of 7% from last week. An adjusted percentage is 61%. On average, approximately 79% of players online were in Tahn. This is an increase of 4% from last week. On average, approximately 3% of players online were in Ceru. This is a decrease of 2% from last week. On average, approximately 11% of players online were in Asul. This is a decrease of 1% from last week. Analyses For those possibly viewing one of these threads for the first time, the goal of this section is to offer some more subjective analyses based on the impressions of those doing these checks. Some may be drawn from the data, but that won’t always be the case. The thing that stands out the most is the shift toward Tahn. The past two weeks we’ve seen an increasing portion of the server population head over to Tahn, with decreases happening for Asul and Ceru. However, this likely was at least in part due to Asul’s largest settlement, Veris, having a number of people dedicated to LC, and the decline of Sutica in Ceru. Things have seemed to be picking up in Asul toward the end of this check period, and should continue to do so. Likewise, it would seem that folks are spreading out a tiny bit, with a slightly smaller percentage of the playerbase in an active area during our checks. However, I would in part attribute that to a number of LC areas popping up that are dragging folks away who would otherwise be RPing. That could be wrong, however, and it will be hard to figure out what is our “normal” until we have more, longer-term data. As for timezone specific regions, San’raakh and Ponce seem to continue as slightly European-favoring regions. The Enchantry seems to be a bit more popular in American afternoons and evenings, going into Aussie times. The rest seem to not majorly favor any timezone particularly. I already mentioned this, but I found this week in particular that I often performed checks while several staff members were in other multiverse worlds performing staff duties. This means that they contribute to the number of players online, but have no chance of being found contributing to a potentially active settlement during the check. I think not including these players in the active percentage is a better reflection of overall server activity, which is why I added the adjusted percentages. Conclusions My hope is that this (late…) update was valuable as well, and that the additional information provided is useful. All of the important/previous stuff is in a spoiler at the top of the page, rather than linked throughout the post. I’ll continue posting these as best I can, hopefully returning to the Tuesday schedule. However, following next Tuesday’s post, I’m going to be releasing a larger activity thread that tracks the course of activity for the entire month of July. I’m not entirely sure what this will look like yet, but I hope for it to showcase some of the locations that have been most active and be more than data and observations in boring text format. Also, if any of you would like to do me a favor and look at the spreadsheet with the data and click the region info tab, there’s some holes/uncertainties regarding names of regions and what nations they exist beneath. If you all can help me with that, it would be greatly appreciated! Likewise, if you’re the PRO (or a representative of the PRO) for any of the regions listed in this or previous threads, feel free to contact me, as I have an idea I’d like to run by you. Similarly, if you’re going to be running an event for your settlement, feel free to contact me or comment here, and we will try to have a check done at that time. And as always, if you have further questions about my methodology, or ideas on how the staff can use this data, that would be great! Thanks for the positive feedback and expect more of these in the future. Special thanks to @Creete, @Rammer, @Jaeden and @PorkNchopS for the assistance, @Harold and @Harrison for the support, and @Malimom for being a friend.

  12. Vidarr sighs as he reads over the piece, the tired man's gaze hanging upon it long after he'd finished. Finally, he shakes his head. "Nay, this is not an Empire for true men. We cower lowly in the shadows of our forebears. These are wise words, Odo, yet they will go unheeded."
  13. Uncertain, but it certainly would help their chances of getting land at the beginning of next map.
  14. As of yet, probably not, though it might influence who gets land on the next map. If this changes, we will warn groups before it happens so they have warning beforehand.
  15. Awkward, these all previously said 75%. Apologies for the confusion.
  16. Whoops, somehow missed that one at the bottom section... FIXED
  17. GM Activity Project Hail friends of Malinor. Today I’m here to provide you all with the second release of information regarding the GM Activity Project. If you’d like a broader explanation of why we are doing this and how we hope to potentially use this data, I encourage you to read the initial post and my methodology. However, to keep this short, our goal is to make it easier for players to find roleplay by regularly releasing information about region activity. This time around, along with the data, I’ve shown how it matches up with last weeks if there was any sort of change. As always, if you have any questions or thoughts on other ways this data can be used, feel free to let me know. Now, on to the data... The Data <- link If you took a moment to read the document linked earlier, you’ll know that we marked down any region that had 5 or more people in it consecutively. For the sake of this project, we will consider that to be “active.” I know it’s a bit arbitrary, but the line had to be drawn somewhere, and we think this is a good threshold. This is consistent with last week. On average, approximately 65% of players were found in regions with 5 or more players in them when 100 or more players were online. This is an increase of 2% from last week. On average, approximately 75% of players online were in Tahn. This is an increase of 7% from last week. On average, approximately 5% of players online were in Ceru. This is a decrease of 1% from last week. On average, approximately 12% of players online were in Asul. This is a decrease of 4% from last week. Some Subjective Analyses Just like last week, I wanted to include a little section for some things I noticed, even if they aren’t strictly data-driven observations. The first thing to notice is that there were a great deal more regions to pop up as being “active” given our definition, even though there were 21 fewer checks than the previous report (that one was done over a longer time). However, I don’t actually think that is particularly indicative of roleplay “spreading out” as one might initially believe. For one, a few groups had sizable LC projects leading to some of their more active members focusing on building instead of driving roleplay, seemingly pushing players who would normally roleplay in these areas to look elsewhere. Secondly, I have heard from a few different groups that they very intentionally have been working on increasing activity following the first post, causing them to pop up on the list a few times. We also still seem to have horrible sleep schedules. Our activity is fairly high late into the night for Americans, but proceeds to drop then until early afternoon, or early evening for our European friends. Get more sleep folks… As before, it seems most settlements aren’t very timezone specific, especially the most active ones. The exceptions to this rule include San’raakh and Ponce, which are definitely most active during European-friendly times. While it didn’t quite make the 25% threshold, Tal’Azmar seemed to be somewhat regularly active in American evenings/Aussie times. Conclusions Hopefully this second update proved valuable for everyone. If you missed the links, the previous thread is linked here, the methodology is linked here, and the data is linked here. For the foreseeable future, I think we’ll be releasing these updates every Tuesday, pending complications or player feedback. Also, if any of you would like to do me a favor and look at the spreadsheet with the data and click the region info tab, there’s some holes/uncertainties regarding names of regions and what nations they exist beneath. If you all can help me with that, it would be greatly appreciated! A note for nation/settlement leaders, if you're going to be running an event which you think will attract a sizable crowd, feel free to let me/others involved know. We will try to do a check at this time to record this in our data, so long as it is player-driven roleplay. And as always, if you have further questions about my methodology, or ideas on how the staff can use this data, that would be great! Thanks for the positive feedback and expect more of these in the future. Special thanks to @Creete, @Rammer, @Jaeden and @PorkNchopS for assisting me with checks, @Harold and @Harrison for support, and @Malimom for being everyone's friend.
