  1. Music County of Chrósty Culture of Chrósty Chrósty, being a march, is a hot pot for a mixture of culture and beliefs. Peasantry of the county are a mixture of both native Osvanti and resettled Kiralski, with both also representing the split in Jozsefite and Vaseric within the region. The harsh winters and Kemijar raiding ensures a difficult life for the peasantry itself, ensuring fortified towns bolstered with magitech engines to provide heating within the winter. The Jozsefites of the county resent this usage of magic, however outright refusing this aide is rare due to the severe winters that blanket the county, especially after the thermal springs of the region were cut off from across the border. A feudal society, the peasantry are beholden to their local lord, the baron or the count Chrósty himself. Those who live within the cities of the county however are beholden to their burgomeister, an elected official of the town that administers the people in the service of their lord. The noble class of the region is burgeoning and powerful, highly militaristic and disciplined, they control all the cards in Chrósty. Nobility of Chrósty are deeply Vaseric, ascribed to the central doctrine of the church. They sponsor the Magitech guild, specialised in the area with heating enchantments. History of Chrósty Source The March of Chrósty has existed on the Osvanti border for the two centuries since the initial push. The Lords of Chrósty, House of Lasko, held the border for the vast majority of that time, until 1682 and the extinction of that line. Sandwiched between the two rivers from the Tatra Mountains in the west, the Vistula River to the south and the Warta to the north, the great lake Mamry to the east, the Chrósty is a bastion on the border. Originally a simple county, they entrenched in their cold northern lands, the slow advance of the Vaseric faith bringing with it the aids to the living standards of the county. The fortified cities therefore gave rise to a heavily entrenched magitech guilds, the local guilds being some of the most skilled in heating enchantments, in order to keep the winter easier to weather. With the formation of the Empire, Chrósty sworn to the growing empire, the cultural Kiralski started to seed the land with migrants, encouraged by programs from the heartlands. This seeded land grew in population so that the northern border was secured, a flat plain where the Kiralski Hussars reign supreme. Great forts and cities, bolstered by Magitech have ensured a hard border in which the Militarily supreme Osvanti are repulsed at this short border, so much so that the skirmishes found on this border is the only real form of conflict that has been seen except for the Lewki War of 1665. This war saw the extinction of the Lasko line, the former barons of Lewki being raised to their place, the Książek family. Vaseric to the core, the rise of the Jozsefite sect has worried the county, the culturally Osvanti converting like their northern brethren, albeit with some persuasion due to the engine-fuelled comforts that the north requires for an easier life. Religious strife however is currently kept to a head, especially since the Trazimir to the southeast is close enough to give even the Chrósty worry. Religion The Chrosty are a mixture of both religions. The ruling Książek are staunchly Vaseric, and their investments in the Magitech guild has ensured that the population of the County has Vaseric leanings. However the close proximity to the Osvanti means that Jozsefite believers are not rare within the borders, and an uneasy peace remains between the differing sects. The House of Książek Source 1698 - Witold, Count Chrósty A formidable Marcher lord, Witold has held the northern border for thirteen years. Named by some in the Sejm as the ‘Northern Ogre’, he is known to be a repulsive looking man. However, the activity on the border keeps Witold engaged in skirmishing and has garnered a reputation of a warrior Marquis. A staunch Vaseric, he encourages the use of magitech throughout the County, ensuring the prioritisation of warming magics to keep the winters of the north as manageable as possible. The lord frequently skirmishes with the Hakala of Alaskylä, but both houses have a deep respect for their century long rivalry. Source 1702 - Klara, Countess Chrósty Klara, the wife of Witold, is the daughter of a southern house, a family from the heartlands of the empire. A formidable woman, and the second daughter of the family, she has taken to the north like a fish to water. An intelligent woman, well liked by her adopted homeland, she has championed the magitech guild and is deeply pious to the Vaseric faith. Source 1720 - 1739 Dobrogost, The Eagle of the North The son and heir of Witold, the Eagle was a great commander of men and a rising star of the Empire itself. A feared warrior and general, he led Witold’s Hussars and developed the battle plans to ensure the new amarta płomieniowa, the flame cannons, became a staple for the northern border. During the Fourth Trazimir War, Dobrogost led Chrósty’s men to war, being an officer for the Imperial Army. During the Imperial rout, Dobrogost led a foolhardy charge of the limited amount of Hussars left, gaining time for the Imperial army to leave but losing his life, and that of his men, in the process. Source 1723 - Otylia, The Maiden The only daughter and now heir of Chrosty, Otylia is an unmarried young woman. Charming and slightly learned, Otylia lives in the shadow of her now deceased brother. While still doted on by her father, she knows that the family is in dire straits if it is indeed to survive. At the tender age of 18, Otylia is versed in the dangers of the Sejm, her place in the empire, and the politics needed to ensure her families survival. Map of the Realm
  2. Its a shame vortex is being removed. While the plugin wasn't great (sorry its true) there were kernels of a good plugin in there. Sorry for your time spent Nick but atleast theres a positive change. (now make terra plug in have 24hr cooldowns and 12/6/3x drop rate for building mats/misc blocks/metals! No more walking, want more rping!)
  3. As ex-ST, I do like CRP but CRP is LONG and a pain and I find when done in a position outside of people you know or in an event, its usually VERY bad, tiresome and ends poorly. PVP, even if I'm bad at it, isn't a bad thing and really mechanics do need to be embraced by the more grognards of the server so we can do the important legal roleplay I love to do. Also item limit is based.
  4. Turn I Kingdom of Ratae - Music - Upon his throne in Atran Rex Saleric stirred, his aged form slowly shifting as the King woke from his most recent slumber. Having failed to feel well-rested for decades, Saleric’s eyes opened to gaze upon the court in front of him, readily assembled as the pre-appointed time had arrived. The Lich King noted the various Ducēs, Magi and other sycophants awaited his attention. “Perhaps now is the time…” He mused, before he nodded to his consul. “We have performed as last ordered your Majesty, the infrastructure is in place and the rioting ended years ago. We believe we have finally reached stability and peace.” he intoned, the man equally as ancient as the Rex himself. The report continued into the minutiae, as Saleric continued to listen to the man. A vision of the kingdom slowly started to form within his head, the people and the borders, the land still to conquer. Internally he began to feel a ***** form of pleasure, alien to any mortal man. “It is time, my fellows.” Saleric spoke, as he raised himself from the throne as his powers returned to him, “It is time for Ratae to finally seek out its future outside of the colonies… Send them out.” He added. Forests were cleared for new industrial suburbia, the undead work teams driven by their living overseers. Deep in the outer reaches of the colonies, land was cleared for more industrial development, the raw earth itself cloven to feed the growing need for stone in the days to come. The small fleet of Ratae itself busied itself, ships being pressed into selling excess horses and iron, while two small groups of ships readied themselves for a long voyage into the sound, travelling explore far shores. A small band of men, living at that, travelled to the border city of Solarius, preparing to breach the jungle into the wilderness inside the continent. Actions Construction of 5 Boneworks [1 Adjacent to Atran, 4 adjacent to Itona]. Construction of 4 Quarries [2 in Corcius, 1 in Partium, 1 in Pergius]. Recruitment of 500 Light Slingers, 500 Heavy OH Infantry and 550 Light 2H Infantry to Legion I Ratae The movement of the Legion II Lunius to the North-East of the Kingdom. A caravan is sent north through the jungle with 2 units of warhorses and 20 units of iron to sell to the marketplace and Nictlacachi respectively. [Mod] Rimor Aurius Siusutia explores to the north-east of Ratae, heading out with a small cadre of men, in order to pierce the depths of the jungle and survey the land for future expansion. [Mod] Two pairs of exploration ships travel east and west from Ratae, following the coastline of the continent, with the aim of establishing formal diplomatic missions with the Kingdom of Luoyang to the east and the Nations of the northern tip of the continent.

  6. One of the posters manages to find its way to far off lands, landing in the lap of a family of Kaedweni peasants. After much haranguing they manage to persuade the town alderman to read it to them, for being lowly peasants they cannot read. The grandma gasps and the children scream, the mother goes pale and the father turns red. After much consternation the father of this family, the simple Tyrus family, loudly bellows. "That order is dead and gone! Our fore bearers spilt blood and gave their lives for the Rose and the Chivay dynasty! These people know nothing of the Kaedweni, so they should leave things lie and come up with their own ideas!"
  7. The Kingdom of Ratae The Colony ‘The archives do speak of a colony, ‘Ratae Corieltauvorum’ or so it was then… Perhaps they used to be of Elraic? It matters not, they diverged an age ago.’ Over one score year, two centuries ago, waves of colonists settled the coasts of Ratae Corieltauvorum. Emerald seas; golden sands; and plentiful harvests, Ratae was the poster child of colonial life for the citizens of Elraic. For the initial year, cities were built and land parcelled as civilisation came to their shores. Five primary coloniae dominated the area, the modern cities of Tiranmia, Etrinal, Itona, Gasonia, and the capital Atran. The land, while fertile, proved difficult to dislodge from the tribal locals, the Corielta. Evil winds and strange news slowly drifted back to the empire as these tribes fought for the land they historically inhabited. This came to a head four years after the establishment of Ratae, when the colonial legions marched on campaign to weed out the Corielta themselves. Villages were massacred, families scattered and the land given to the colonists, with dire consequences to follow. The Fall ‘Ah yes here, the Empire abandoned the colonies once they stopped being economically viable. Shame, they originally had such potential.’ It started slowly, a creeping sense of unease and dread that draped over the colonies. Fields slowly started to fail to blight, animals were born with malformities, strange stories drifted out of the outlying hamlets. Interest in the colonies slowly dulled down as these hardships began to multiply, the remaining colonists persevering in the increasingly dire straits. Figures started to appear at the edge of the colonies, strange wraiths that haunted the steadings. The first plague swept through the colonies like the reaper himself collecting the dead, bodies piling upon the road side. The support from the Empire was strong in those days, the depths of the aid greatly alleviated the suffering from what was seen as a ‘one off’. This misconception however was challenged only a few years afterwards. Famine struck, and while support from Elraic again was utilised, a secondary plague hit the colony hard. Fear of the growing disease and aware of the economic impact of the support required over such a long distance, the colonies were abandoned and left to the winds of fate. The Tyrant ‘We are unsure of his origin, but all we know is that the Tyrant seized control in an iron fist’ As the colonies collapsed around them the faith in Sehula waned, the colonists becoming ever more despairing in their failing state. The piles of the dead began to rise as reports of phatoms stalking the streets of dying city wards began to spread. From the great city of Atran, the capital of the Ratae, a low rumour began to spread that the spirits raised were simply the souls of the dead, willing to return to aid the living. Saleric Artenian, a minor functionary and an integrated Corieltan, began to express a new approach to his peers, where Sehula was a false god and can only be replaced with the people themselves. Slowly this cult began to take hold within Atran itself, spread by the zealous followers until Saleric himself ascended. This event is heralded as the beginning of the Kingdom of Ratae, where Saleric declared himself Rex. The colonial government attempted to resist this coup, wherein the souls of the dead inhabited the bodies of the dead, rising up to protect their new lord. A long and bloody crusade took place over the next decade, Rex Artenian solidifying his position in the colonies. Over the next two centuries, the kingdom remained insular, developing their society to integrate the new beliefs and the role of undead within. Now however, the Ratae are awakening, ready to march into the jungles to claim new lands. 12. Yet again the green tags are stifling my roleplay! I want my legendary purple gear now!
  13. Why did you misspell Squawk and do we pronounce your name "squ-ak"?
  14. Godfrey for a good first pick regardless of his leg ups Solid second choice would be every captain of the salvus shields
  15. Just to reiterate what everyone has said: Well done on your first piece of lore; while its not perfect it would have potential! If, that is, there wasn’t a similar magic in place! But you seem fairly okay with this. I’d say, like the others, look at the current accepted lore. Both to find a good basis on how magic currently works on the server (point based systems are a little archaic atm) and what current lore is around. Remember: Lore can be little things too, so don’t fret by making a new magic and CA!
  16. Thats my point Alaric. The only instance of being a white kha SHOULD be to either BE a tlatanni or imitate one. Its like walking around dressed the same as jesus and going “Oh no, I’m not pretending to be jesus I’m just doing me.” as you walk around in robes, bearded and long hair as your crown of thorns dig into your head.
  17. Also people who are ‘bleaching’ their fur do so with the limited technology of LOTC, I mean what are they using? I understand people who bleach their Kha’s fur and I actually think they should be allowed to, it’d create interesting RP as long as the person doing it is FULLY aware of the implications. Kha who bleach their fur would do so (I can imagine) to impersonate a tlatanni. Any other reason is... Well it kinda spits in the face of Kha lore from its inception and they really don’t understand the race that they are playing. Possibly edit the redline to ‘No bleaching to white fur except for the explicit reason to impersonate a tlatanni’. At least then people would recognise the gravity of what they’re doing in roleplay. Just a thought, otherwise ban white kha completely.
  18. Voting gets you lootboxes? Lord of the Fortnite?
  19. It looks good, and acceptable lore; I hope a community can be built on it.

  22. Whats the hate on canonism? It has no magic, doesn’t conflict with lore, and just permeates academic writing rp.

mogroka didn’t start it, he just encouraged it to finally be rp’d and taken seriously.

all the scriptures and dogmata and stuff were defined long after his time, and the basic premise of it(monotheism, the four brothers, etc.) was literally the server creation lore. al’khazar was built with a cathedral with a giant cross on it before the server was even released – and you had priests since basically day one

that’s one of the reasons why it’s rly dumb to **** on canonism being too unoriginal or not fitting in with the rest of the server etc. – we just took the server lore and ran with it. not our fault that everything canonism was built off was later retconned.
