  1. The mother of Catrin Solene, one Mattea Asadha, read the missive first before passing it on to her daughter. She watched her face as she scanned the letter, waiting for her reaction... @Roza
  2. "Excellent work, sweetling." Princess Mattea pressed a smooch to the top of her daughter Catrin's head, and enveloped her in an encouraging squeeze before leading her off by the shoulders. "Now, come. We must decide what to wear..." From there, the two made off into their vast, vast closet.
  3. OK THIS IS EFFING AWESOME IM GONNA MAKE A SONG W FKNING HANDBELLS????
  4. Someone give @Daisya warning point for reserve posting
  5. Mattea waited in the gatehouse, anxious to pull the lever that could save the day.
  6. “Sheesh!” Cried an old-as-dust Pétrine monarch. Be it from the Seven Skies or the very land of Aevos where she was last known to dwell, one may never know. All one could say was that Renilde and Uther did indeed cross paths, and even perhaps came of age alongside one another as their realms matured beneath their guiding hands. “Rest peacefully, Tar-Numenatar. I hope to join you soon for mead.”
  7. “Heavens yes.” Princess Mattea murmured from within the vast confines of her closet. Her fingers trailed along fabrics: silks, tulle, lace itself, or even that one leather piece she had… But, it was another dress that came to mind — one not in Mattea’s possession — and she would have to write a friend to ask if she could borrow it on such short notice. Mattea took to her desk, picked up her peacock-feather quill, and put on her sealing wax to melt over the nearby candle, beginning to write like she was, indeed, running out of time.
  8. “This is ******* wild,” says Mattea Asadha of the Petra.
  9. MANTLE OF JOYEUSE RENEWED Penned by Sorrel Tulpe AUCLAIR —— Atstana de Regne Petrère 182 I, Sorrel Tulpe Auclair, Viscount-Consort of Joyeuse, on the day of my son's wedding, officially announce Guillaume Rollante Auclair as the rightful heir and successor to the Viscounty of Joyeuse. Throughout my life, I have worked hard for the good of the Petran people and the prosperity of our beloved Commonwealth, while also doting on my family amid my wife's disappearance. It brings me pride and confidence to pass this responsibility to Guillaume. His strong character, wisdom, and commitment to our family make me certain he is ready to lead us forward. From this day forward, let everyone in the Commonwealth know that Guillaume Auclair is now the official Viscount and representative of our family, holding all rights, titles, responsibilities, and privileges of the Viscounty of Joyeuse. Additionally, I announce my retirement from active duty within the Swords of St. Emma, along with my resignation from all political offices, so that I may enjoy the tranquility of my later years. As I place my seal and signature on this writ, I take my rest with gratitude and pride. I wish my son Guillaume wisdom, courage, and compassion, so that the Viscounty of Joyeuse and our Commonwealth may prosper for many generations to come. Too, do I wish he is blessed with many happy years of marriage, and that he gives me many grandchildren. For the last time, Sorrel Tulpe Auclair, Former Mayor of Vallagne, Former Second People’s Seat of the Garmont Assembly, Loving Father and Former Husband

  11. THE TRIAL OF THE TATERS Penned by Her Highness Mattea Asadha —— Atstana de Regne Petrère 180 Foreword This missive chronicles the legal entanglement of Agrippa Auclair, the “Tater Tyrant." It details the trial proceedings, the charges he faced, and the memorable happenings all prior to his verdict. This was all due to a series of unfortunate, potato-related events. The proceedings were overseen by none other than Blademaster Symon Stafyr, with a jury composed of noble minds: High Chancellor Athaenis Vourkehardt, Princess Mattea Asadha of the Petra, Prince Joseph Aurèle of the Petra, and Sir Thomas von Theonus. The prosecution, Cesar A. J. Komnenos, stood firm for the plaintiff Sir Hart Stafyr-Leomonte, while the defense was undertaken by Lady Amelia Reinhold, representing the accused: one Agrippa Auclair. The Charges Agrippa Auclair, once a noble lad of moderate decorum and extensive appetite, stood accused of by Sir Hart Stafyr-Leomonte, a knight of fine reputation and frequent target of misfortune: Assault Attempted Murder Culinary Insolence during Military Assembly Sequence of Events: As Agreed Upon by All, Sadly During a meeting of the Radiant Guard, Agrippa, a then-squire, most irreverently munched a potato amidst sacred discussion. Told to cease, the lad doubled down, dramatically dropping the potato and sneezing directly into the face of the heir to the Commonwealth, Prince Joseph Aurèle. For this parade of offenses, Sir Hart stripped him of his squirehood after the meeting. Agrippa proceeded to attack Sir Hart, hugging him around his middle from behind, and dropping both of their bodies backwards - this maneuver is otherwise known as a 'Waldenian suplex'. (Please refer to the attached diagram.) The suplex turned into a beating so thorough, it left Sir Hart with a broken collarbone and several less memorable injuries. Defendant’s Plea Grief, claimed Agrippa. Grief and unrelenting emotional turmoil over the death of his beloved grandmother — a woman remembered fondly around the Commonwealth for her expertise in healing. Plaintiff’s Response Sir Hart, while sympathetic to the loss, found being suplexed and walloped to be an inappropriate channel for that grief. Understandably unpersuaded, the Plaintiff insisted that no amount of sorrow permitted an attempted murder-via-hug. Final Folly Just as the tide turned heavily toward a guilty verdict, Agrippa again attempted to execute the forbidden suplex — this time upon the Komnenos lawyer. However, the Komnenos, being both part man and part what seemed to be a siege weapon, reversed the maneuver. Agrippa was launched through the floor with such speed and force, it is said a crater remains in the living quarters of the Red Bastion, a hole in the ceiling where the map room sat above, ruined. Agrippa was carted off by the surprisingly strong Gummy Yog, resident goblin and President of the NGS, to the Vallagne Clinic. The Komnenos lawyer dusted off his tunic and resumed legal counsel without comment. The Verdict After deliberation, the jury came to its verdict: Guilty. Agrippa Auclair’s sentence is thus: Stripped of Noble Status: Degraded from lordling to common man. Dietary Rehabilitation: A regimen of “suitable nutrition” in lieu of potatoes. Man-at-Arms Service: Assigned to the ranks as a humble soldier until redemption. Healer’s Quest: Charged to find and fund a physician to mend Sir Hart’s broken arm. In Conclusion Let this serve as a reminder to all: grief is no excuse for out-of-place potatoes, unsolicited suplexes, or impromptu wrestling matches with lawyers made of iron. The Commonwealth will always uphold its justice and so we pray that the young Agrippa will rise anew: healthier, wiser, and with fewer violent outbursts of the emotional sort. Until then, we pray that our courtrooms remain upright, our nobles remain examples for our people to follow, and above all: our potatoes remain on their plate, where they belong! 12. Princess Mattea of the Petra slept through the announcement. It wouldn’t change her life much, anyway. It wasn’t as if anyone had say or as if they’d been asked for an opinion, so why should she trouble herself? ”Interesting,” she uttered, unsurprised and disinterested.
  13. Mattea hurriedly mailed in her registration for the joust, looking forward to the opportunity to brandish her cherry blossom lance again.
  14. Weeks prior, when Therin had returned from his adventures initially, Mattea had gathered the travel-weary brother into an embrace. “Welcome home,” she emphasized to her brother, prior to leading him into the Citadel and updating him on the affairs of the Commonwealth.
  15. Princess Mattea, amid organizing her closet full of an absurd amount of outfits, was delivered the invitation to her good friend Connie’s wedding by one of her many, many children. Mattea smiled when she recognized the seal, and looked back to the many dresses all hung up, trying very hard to decide which one to wear to the occasion, and which one to gift to Constance herself. Decisions, decisions…
  16. for the Issued and averred by Her Highness Atstana de Regne Petrère 172 BY THE ORDER OF MATTEA ASAHDA, PRINCESS-REGENT OF THE PETRA, Our loyal subject, Evelina Valkonen, is hereby granted the title of Baroness of Valkanfeldt. The lands upon which she is seated shall henceforth be known as the Barony of Valkanfeldt, and she shall hold the right to pass this title to her heir when the time comes of her death or abdication. With this elevation, the house of Valkonen takes upon the responsibilities and expectations of an esteemed peer of the Commonwealth, to uphold its values and uplift their fellow citizens from all walks of life. They shall respect the sanctity of the Commonwealth’s laws, and play a diligent role in leading its future. ≋▐ TEMESCH OF THE PETRA ▌ ≋ ≋▐ THEONUS | REINHOLD | STAFYR | AUCLAIR | VALKONEN ▌≋ S I G N E D , HIS GRACE, Therin Thelonius Adil of the Petra, Archduke of the Petra, Marquis de Val d’Estenou, Count of Temesch, Torm Marian, and Moere, Viscount of Mies, Baron of Garmont, Vallagne-en-Petra, Eagles Peak, Hrenthorne, Wittenbach and Resmore, Protector of the Meadows & Defender of Liberty HER HIGHNESS, Mattea Asadha, Princess-Regent of the Petra, Countess of the Phoenixsphere, Grand Chamberlain of the River Court
  17. “You have done so much for us, and so this is the very least I can do for you.” Mattea squeezed her brother in a hug, kissed his children each on the head, and gestured to the wagon of provisions awaiting their departure at the gate. “Be safe on your travels; we will be here when you get back.”
  18. Princess Mattea smiled at the three outfits her Master of Robes, the modiste, made with his own two hands. "Incredible work, as always, Yommy. I cannot wait to see what the feminine collection looks like!"
  19. "Didn't voidal mages aid the Holy See during the war?" Asks fellow Canonist Mattea Asadha of herself, scratching her confused little head. "This is quite worrisome, yet just as one could've foreseen..."
  20. I think it is natural to care about the things you’ve spent hours upon hours cultivating, only to have someone randomly (don't care if it’s an orc, a regular bandit, or someone on an opposing side of a war) come up and kill you or war your nation for total destruction, then tell you to touch grass afterward when you’re upset. A lot of RP’ers put in a lot of effort into creating their characters, getting their magic, getting their special feats, etc. On the other side of the coin, a lot of communities have spent an unquantifiable amount of time creating their culture, their individual niches, their hubs, etc. It’s hard to differentiate IC/OOC intentions when the frustration of all you’ve created is being destroyed or stolen (or even the threat of it). It’s even worse when people of an opposing side are DM’ing you things OOC about how they will make an xyz out of your nation, or how you should give up (again, OOCly). It’s like destroying someone’s diorama and ripping up the story they’ve written surrounding it, only to say, “Well I mean, you couldn’t stop me from destroying it, so does it really matter? Get over it!” I’m not saying you’d do this, @DrunkPapaBear, they’re just my thoughts and experiences over the years, and most importantly, during this conflict.
  21. Princess-Royal, Mattea Asadha smiles at the depiction of her best friend, Queen Nadya, surrounded by the loyal soldiers of the Rosen Banner. [!] A letter was later penned to the Haeseni Queen on the Royal House's stationary, bearing the crimson Royal Seal of the Commonwealth of the Petra. Darlingest Nadya, Don't you know pink goes good with green? You must add a brooch, to give the armor your flair! ~Mattea
