  2. αӄαӄɦɛʅ-ӄɛᵲʊӄ Akakhel-Keruk, also known as the Ashen Vision, is a malyker institute which vows to provide its disciples the necessary skills to better themselves in cultural understanding and self-defense. It is a bastion and brotherhood for malyker within and outside the Khanate, seeking to unite each and every dark elf through a proper restoration of the people. The disciples trained and fostered here are not servants or personal soldiers, but warriors who choose to represent themselves, their ancestors and the blood of Helun-Velulaeya: ythaen or ythael. A modern concept known as Bevonulel forms the basis of Akakhel-Keruk’s three core responsibilities set for its students. It can be described as a state of great conflict that affects the lives of the malyker and the people they care for. Anyone who seeks guidance from the institute works to temper their body, mind and soul in preparation of such conflict, so that they may prevail by any means necessary. The Ashen Vision believe that close adherence to the obligations below, along with the preservation of history and the guidance of ancestors often overlooked, will allow the malyker to succeed in Bevonulel and bring to them a prosperous age of silver moonlight, where the culture may distinctly flourish alongside their orcish allies and elfen cousins. VELURV - Learnedness is necessary in preparation for Bevonulel. One must come to understand the world around them and be receptive to the constant change of the material. Disciples are expected to seek out knowledge as the first maehr once did to assess any situation, whether it be conflict or otherwise. To fail is to be stagnant, plagued by archaic minds and ignorance. OHKEMUM - Humility is necessary in preparation for Bevonulel. One must allow themselves to think pragmatically and reduce ego where it could cause harm, grounding themselves to realism. Disciples are expected to toss away hubris and show their true strength in the face of conflict or personal affairs. They must respect the power of others, even opponents, to avoid underestimation. To fail is to be overcome by delusion, destined to fall from a high horse only they can perceive. SHADARHAR’LUTH - Conquering oneself is necessary in preparation for Bevonulel. One must toil in all aspects, forcing themselves to become unwavering physically and mentally. Disciples are expected to train through relentless practice and conditioning, remain focused on their goals and any consequences that could arise from them, as well as abstain from actions that contradict these responsibilities and prevent themselves from having clear thought. To fail is to become weak-willed, powerless against the conflict ahead. Akakhel-Keruk is currently seeking books on malyker history as well as wizened maehr and potential disciples of different creeds and backgrounds to help establish foundations for malyker success within Cauróst, Lurak, and Braevos as a whole. Tools will be provided, and more complex methods of defense will be offered to those who show great effort to the cause. We will not allow ourselves to become stagnant, nor corrupted by the Ibleesian taint which has torn some of us apart. Whether you are of the Great Houses of old or a nomadic ashlander, write to me or leave a letter within my offices in either aforementioned demesne if interested. Requirements: Malyker or any ally of the Princedom of Cauróst Willingness to learn of and/or practice the following: Malyker history and culture Honoring the deceased Self-defense with and without weapons The aforementioned obligations (and charity) Demons, warlocks, weirdos and other evildoers need not apply ʋɛʅʊӄ αɛȶɦ ʂȶᵲψᛪᛪψ Councilor of Cauróst, Sanryr of Akakhel-Keruk, Elven Hero of Du Loc
  3. "Bless," spoke Veluc, who cheered on his new allies.
  4. An ashlander devoid of any Great House blood cheers on at the result of an orcish khanate and elvendom's combined effort, ready to bring about a new age within the Southern Dominion.
  5. defender is so much better not even close. for the majority of my playtime on the server i have spent it doing magic larp on my free time, yet the last thing i want to do is spend 80 years arguing with some void+dark magic stacking minmaxer/rule-stretching sorcerer (none of them are cool enough to fulfill the role of wise benevolent mage) or HEMA larping “it bounces off. farther reach btw. 6’5 300lbs btw” knight who swears he can perform the gimbletop technique found on page 74 of the dooble manual (none of them are cool enough to fulfill the role of heroic barbarian) who decides to pull me into a fight for little more than a lol or gotcha. the issue of only seeking victories through one avenue of play plagues the mindset of lotcers and leaves everyone brain-rotted and selfish. it’s why CRP with anyone who doesn’t consent beforehand becomes a terrible experience for at least one of the parties and always a waste of someone’s hours. same could be said about PVP except that with PVP at least half the defenders are okay with it while as little as none can enjoy random CRP. let people have the freedom of choice to defend themselves against actual bad faith players and put conflict into their own hands when it is sprung upon them without warning, whether CRP or PVP.
  6. Philip Montalt, now an elderly monk retired to the harsh deserts, recalled the very day his father and his close companions led a true Petra to victory in the name of Salvian. He remembered the ceremony that took place thereafter, in recognition of both heroes and knights among the people - where he had met his wife and witnessed his father's elevation to Grand Knight. Yet above all, the memory which stuck to him the most was his family's expulsion, and the ill-willed removal from their keep at the blink of an eye. Following the footsteps of Pavel Ivanovich, he sought for his grandchildren, nieces and nephews to bring about the Petra he once knew.

  9. The fight was redone so that the issue of PvP turning off (which affected our side as well, causing some of us to die in the middle of a crowd we once couldn't hit) was solved and a fair fight for the both of us could be had. It worked fine afterwards, especially when folks were reimbursed with better gear than they had. They did as well as they could for the mistake, and all was fair in the end.
  10. erm. . . guys... they're gonna find out about the ferryST project...
  11. definitely needs more to it and a stronger identity beyond the healing and darkspawn stun/shield looking away from the mechanical things + formatting, squak made a good point that the magic should take from the new tahariae post and incorporate the new themes and lore found!

  15. Good read, and thanks for creating a community that’s brought me a lot of fun and genuine RP every time I come to visit. Making your own decisions and figuring out what you have fun with / what you find interesting is the best way to play the server.
  16. will try my best not to repeat xark ellie femur (i agree w/ all of them) while folks of 'light' and 'dark' can do things associated with the other, it doesn't change that deities of all sorts view the other of the two as not OK. i don't think it's supposed to mean they can't be 'redeemed,' but more that the deities themselves don't believe ixris' children can prove any use to their cause (or do believe they are actively detrimental). LOTC's setting in regard to deity stuff is a lot more harsh/unforgiving. on a more OOC side of things, the RP avenues for a cursed child to work on the side of holies exist already. don't need a magic app to be a xannite or fight against evildoers. magic's cool, but maybe the player can focus a part of their character into trying to understand why they're seen as unfit or doing their best to prove themselves to their god w/o the need of red font color on a forum post. it's limiting but in a way that fosters more RP than not. best thing to do is to make fun out of it. and despite what folks have said earlier, the main aspects of tiefling larp are given to the player directly: succumb to vile temptation and accursed heritage or push against it by your own means :D
  17. Dope. I’m fine with typing a bunch of emotes but at the same time drawing a circle shouldn’t be that long. +1 also can’t wait to see the guide that’s being worked on.
