  1. Elathion, who had once smashed that very same bell only for it to be repaired, nodded approvingly as he heard of his brothers' daring attack on the heart of the Xannites' stronghold. "What a splendid day."
  2. Elathion tucked a sheath behind his sash, preparing to ride for the West!
  3. A CA does allow them to be blacklisted when they emote like this if only ST had the balls to enforce it.
  4. Elathion rode past, and saw the strange totem aflame and destroyed... He pondered on the structure, and wondered which ancient people's heritage they had opted to burn. As it sure wasn't an Azdrazi structure.
  5. agree for musin and hou-zi but we must keep kha locked or the furries will be back in force
  6. [!] Another note found itself pinned to roadsigns around the midlands, and in the lands of Lurin and Vortice. "Beware | Vampire Florian and those who seek to hide them Last Saint’s day, an encounter near Haense revealed another man, disguised as a Vampire. This individual, known as ‘Florian’, stands accused of having kidnapped a child from the crib, and of being a vampire. He was being apprehended by a Lurinite Atronach, 'Prometheus', who was deadset on testing him. Another lady, who introduced herself Naexi Miramaris and claimed to be the mother of the children this ‘Florian’ was accused of kidnapping was present and offered to test the suspected vampire. We oversaw the testing, which showed no results, but the atronach was not convinced, and insisted we test with his gold dust infused salt instead. At this, Lady Naexi Maramaris began to leave the scene, and it soon became apparent why. Upon testing with the Atronach’s salt, the blood began to boil as it would with a vampire. It seems fair to conclude that Naexi attempted to trick us with fake salt, or perhaps sugar. The vampire was apprehended, and turned over to Haeseni and Vortician authorities thereafter. The Vampire freely admitted to, and taunted Vortician authorities with having possession of the baby he was accused of kidnapping. He’d state that if he were slain, those who now had him in custody would not find out where the kidnapped children were. At this time, it is unclear why Naexi would attempt to aid a vampire who stands accused of kidnapping her own child, but it stands to reason there are nefarious plans for the child. It is unclear if she herself is a vampire, other type of darkspawn, or a mere accomplice. If either of these two individuals are to be seen, they should be apprehended, thoroughly tested and questioned. ‘Florian’’s appearance could be described as lithe of build (potential mage? caution is advised), with black, shoulder length hair and green eyes. He appears to be human with pale skin akin to a normal highlander or heartlander He did not significantly resist apprehension upon discovery, and acted in a very frightened manner before that, potentially to breed sympathy and throw people off his scent. Naexi is a wood elf, with tanned skin that is fairly light for wood elf standards, dark green eyes and long, pink (dyed?) hair. She has freckles on her face. She stands at approximately 5 feet 6 to 5 feet 8. Her neck and arms displayed burn scars. She seemed protective of the vampire, attempting to prevent further testing by the atronach. Unsure of the exact relationship between the vampire and this lady. At the time of the encounter, she wore purple earrings. As usual when dealing with these nefarious actors, caution is advised. Signed, E."
  7. [!] A missive was attached to a variety of noticeboards and roadposts around the midlands, mainly in Celia'nor, Haense, Petra and Aaun. "To whom it may concern, take note of the following; While the paladins claim to have recently cured 'Bug' the orc from Vampirism, he has seen fit to throw his lot in with the evil that stalks these lands. Recently, he has come to the aid of Vukosav 'the black' in combat, attempting to use magics to oppose those who were fighting this notorious vampire and demonsorcerer. While he was unsuccesful in his attempts, and fled the scene upon Vukosav's defeat, it is clear that he still aligns with the servants of the Archlich. The descriptions of these miscreants go as follows: Vukosav is a lesser vampire with the ability to, atleast, perform demonic sorcery. He is in possesion of several items imbued with magics, including enchanted clothing. He has long, greasy black hair and a black mustache and goatee. He wears an eyepatch as he is missing his right eye. He stated he resides in Haense, though I'm unsure if this is true or mere darkspawn lies. He did attempt to teleport away to the keep of Gashadokuro prior to the encounter, but failed to do so. Bug is an orc, who was recently, and may again be a vampire. He has green skin. He has a green scar over his right eye. His hair is shaven, except for a mohawk, and he has a stubbly beard. Often seen wearing some kind of cuirass which barely covers his whole torso. During the encounter, he was casting magic and speaking in old blah. I suspect he was trying to cast some form of shamanism, which consistently backfired on him. Guess the spirits do not approve of aiding darkspawn. Caution is advised around either of these individuals. -E."
  8. "Cured, mayhaps, but he still aided the vampire Vukosav! To no avail!" Elathion grumbled, peering at the salted head of Vukosav!
  9. "Would this make 'em fairweather friends?" Elathion asked the empty room around him.
  10. Elathion was ecstatic with the victory, the wry feeling of before washed away. It took a long time after the battle of Elathion to calm down, and he soon took to his steed to go and scourge the countryside for fleeing thralls.
  11. Honestly, lore creatures that have to suffer major cooldowns, have their character locked away for x amount of time or require an extansive process of revival to be playable again after death are simply incentivized to try and avoid dying at all costs in encounters. Strip that shit out please, it doesn't make it any more fun for any party involved

@Unwillingly Yeah sorry about that... Was riding a dumb train of thought at that moment.

It had more to do with viewing it through the lenses of the ever favorite concept of "immortality" and how it provides no real 'point' at all and infact makes you be OOCly more worried over death since it now actually has penalties for said creatures. For example you could just become an elf and never consent to PKing your character on death and you could still have them live for up to 20 IRL years before they grow too old. (Which of course isn't an issue! This is in the end of the day a place with the goal of creating stories, nobody should be able to forcefully kill off another's character before their player is ready to put their tale to an end themselves..!!!!!)

That was the idea, entirely divorced from the fact that the creatures that often possess said immoralities are inhumane entities that have grown detached and separate from the rest of descendantkind down to their very soul having been altered and being creatures that most often than not, retain said immortality by eating the bone marrow of newborn infants or smth. On which point I 100% agree with you, OF COURSE and creatures that have abilities that center specifically on murderizing people should face penalties once they are actually vanquished so that they are even the smallest amount more careful about who or where they attack

This wasn't mean to be interpreted as "Darkspawn should have the exact same respawn mechanics as your average unremarkable person", just how having your character become actually immortal is not all that special really

@UnwillinglyYou're not wrong in saying that people really not wanting to die is a general issue and not found solely in people who have CAs that have death restrictions. I still think that being a CA that may not be able to play for XYZ time or until someone does ZYX to revive them WILL contribute to this attitude.

I just think it's not a good thing to implement these death restrictions and then usually, use that to justify a CA being very powerful. There you get situations where CAs are both frustratingly powerful in CRP AND really averse to losing and dying because it locks them out of their persona.

I also think it's contraproductive to promoting fun villainy rp coming from these CAs. For example, a player might want to go out to do villainy but, they realise they have an event in 2 days, so if they die, they can't attend due to the respawn mechanics, so they either don't go out and do that rp OR do go out but be really unwilling to die.

I really don't see any benefits to any of the CAs that have these restrictions. You're punishing CA players for doing these encounters and losing. I don't think the people who win these encounters get more enjoyment out of the encounter knowing the enemy player's character won't be around for a week.

if you dont want a respawn mechanism, go play a character that isn't a CA, it's that easy.

  12. Elathion, who is definitly a lightener, reads over the document with a grim look upon his face.
  13. "What point is there to requesting this when the treaty clearly outlined that Winburgh was to be dismantled and a monument to the fallen be constructed? Their defiance is not in the face of Haense alone, but in the face of all the Covenant. The treaty does not bid them to live under Haeseni rule, it bids them to leave the Midlands alltogether and live elsewhere." Grumbles Flemius in a mechanical manner as he reads over the missive in between siege weapon inspections.
  14. "Compare us to paladins?!" Said a Nephilim, far away, equally enraged as he read over the report. "This pontiff doesn't know what he's talking about! Allied with darkspawn? Bah!" He shook his fist at the sky in impotent rage.
  15. Besieged (Credit to some AI generator on google images) One moment, they were charging up the hill, through the snow, smashing through the raider flank. Heavily armored cavalry men had overcome traps and storms of arrows, overwhelming the enemy thralls, swiping them and their mounted allies off the ridgeline. The massive keep loomed overhead, defiant in the face of a siege. Cavalry faltered, snow began to sweep them away, and yet, it was a moment of triumph… A warrior had taken their leader down the mountain, and was confident he would slay him in mere moments! Triumph was his, the foe was beaten! Soon, they’d be swept from the mountain entirely! Then, in the blink of an eye, this champion had escaped, stepping into foul shadows and disappearing, and the reality of their position set in… Most of their mounted men unhorsed, many trapped beneath the snow, a few slain, more injured. A warhorn sounded from below the mountain, and soon, they would be attacked from the rear by fresh raiders. Crawling to his feet, the warrior looked around, helping to pull another man to his feet. The retreat down the mountain was cut off by a mob of raiders, and so, the Haeseni around him began to call for a retreat into the safety of the fortress walls. The warrior’s heart sunk in his chest. It was not the first time he had taken part in an engagement that had gone south, but it stung nonetheless. As he waded through the snow, the cold began to set into him, fought back only by one feeling; rage. Soon, he was within the walls, near a fireplace, which banished the cold but failed to dissipate the rage. The warrior was seething at the turn of fortunes. Those around him agreed that, at worst, this was a draw. They had smashed the enemy with minimal casualties and reinforced the keep, but the warrior felt cheated and determined to make those responsible pay. It didn’t take long for the warrior to convince the Rutherns to give him access to their store of cannons, ballistae and ammunition. Soon, he would begin to ply his deadly trade and the forces arrayed around the keep would know no rest. Much to his pleasure, the Ruthern lords were diligent in their work, and had ample ammunition stored in the keep, and a sufficient amount of powder to match it. 5 positions were set up for cannons, and the warrior ‘requisitioned’ a few unfortunate defenders cursed with having to help him hauling ammunition and cannon pieces up to the walls. The warrior was pleased to find out the defenders were no stranger to using siege equipment, having recently besieged several fortresses in the midlands with success, and so, they set to work; soon, none of the shadow raiders would be able to pop their head out of cover without fear of cannonballs or ballista bolts taking that head off. With his resolve steeled and his cannon positions established, the roar of guns soon disturbed the quiet, with persistent bombardements of targets around the walls of the massive keep, whenever they presented themselves.
  16. Elathion took note of the Cerusil's passing with mixed feelings... Nonetheless, he poured out drink for the fallen warrior as he stared across the battlements of a besieged fortress.
  17. yeah please do add pigs, and while you're at it, readd rideable polar bears and make goats rideable so the dwarves get smth cool too.
  18. Elathion smiles the sun's smile as a productive meeting led to a splendid agreement!
  19. Lothar slapped the palm of his hand against his face as he read the report. "Oh, Brothers... Have you no tact?"
  20. As long as this isn't use to find weakspots in armor where there typically are none For example, a Corcitura shouldn't be able just "*slashes at the weakspot in their armor!" even though realistically slashing through a full plated opponent's armor would be very infeasible. Corcitura should still go through the same measures to defeat armor as everyone else
  21. Elathion prepared his armor and his Oyashiman style blade and headed out to the West, determined to fight the undead scourge.
