  1. "Wohoo!" Cheers Flemius, as he reads the missive before heading out to toil in the mines.
  2. Flemius inspects freshly cast artillery pieces with a keen eye, getting ready for the battle!
  3. "Don't jump!" Flemius heard from a stray voice, before the captain spurred him on! "Get him!" The Machine pounced upon the Veletzian below, hacking him to bits!
  4. Flemius nodded, reading over the missive. "One step closer to peace on Aevos."
  5. "And where would we get that coal? Veletzian coal mines to fund their war effort? No thanks! Lava reactors are clean and safe!" Flemius grumbles, shaking his fist!

people who reserve a forum reply pot at all re just dumb

  7. Lothar nodded grimly as he heard of the battle, though he could not attend. "Far from over, but going in the right direction, at least."
  8. Flemius cheers as more allies join the fray!
  9. Elathion cries as, once again, a treaty calls for the demise of his people, despite them doing NOTHING WRONG!!!
  10. Flemius finished off a dark elven warrior. "Die, fool." He stated with a mechanical voice as he slammed the back of his longsword into the warrior's face, until naught was left.
  11. A bloodstained automaton whirls through the streets of Whitespire, slaying Veletzers, both fleeing and standing their ground with his longsword.
  12. Elathion shook his head disapprovingly as he read over the ever growing group of missives. "So eager to bring about death and destruction upon their own kind, and for what?" He asked, as he paced through the office of his ship. "To provoke and to be easily provoked, seems to be way of the land these days. If twisting words could twist reality, why twist reality for such nefarious ends?"
  13. "Once again, the undead try to set the Nephilim against descendants, for they fear that draconic fire might bolster the descendant's defense against the dark. You foul spooks are living on stolen time, and it is coming to an end!" Grumbled Elathion from his ship!
  14. There is a genuine case to be made for not allowing mods tied to either side to moderate a conflict situation. You can't expect these people to truly be unbiased, no matter their intentions. Additionally, the post @Fireheart's screenshots refer to may be official rules but they're not in the rules tab, making them virtually impossible for people who don't know where to find the exact post to reference. Moderation should update the rules to include these. Just 'makes ya think' instead of making a point isn't a good way to convey what you would like to see changed, though.

  16. "Oriens... Orens?!" Elathion gasped, going to ring the alarm bell in his hideout, though no one else was around to hear.

  18. Don't really get being so upsetti spaghetti at a group trying to get their realm somewhere.
Don't try to stop people from trying to branch out and set up their community somewhere, even if the result is another Elysium.

      what ferdingtonguy said
the creation of new realms are fine so as long as they can maintain their activity or else we get situations where realms with a peak of 2 - 3 people regularly exist

Idk much of what happened, but the Vikela allegedly kicked everyone out of their discord over the lurin incident after trying to pvp them & failing

That, and I've never seen Vikela with more than 3 ppl at a time

It'd be better for them to vassal under another place, because they don't seem to have the unique culture nor playercount to really justify a whole tile to themselves- nor do I think they have the maturity to lead a nation, based off that discord thing & them reporting comments critiquing the realm app

this isn't just my opinion on vikela but all of these realms (esp human ones) that're more or less the same & don't seem to have the unique cultural identity & playercount to rationalize them not just being another vassal

A place that cannot sustain itself in the long run no matter whom they are will seemingly always fail in the end. Sure there are no activity checks but that doesn't stop someone from going to conquer them.

I'm unaware of the Incident where they kicked people out their discord- I think if that's true then that only goes to show how much progress has been made since their "Rising"

However this status is a general statement, any vassal or soon to be settlement who cannot sustain itself, without a dedicated community and a leadership thats also mature is sadly going to crumble, sadly thats how things happen.

but who knows, this world is filled with mystery- that's just how the future works.

  19. Elathion looked upon the two tied together Kazin'kul tusks he gained on the road to Aaun, and decides to ride for Numenor.

  21. "Strong, regenerating bones, on account of how much milk has been drunk."
  22. Lore looks great, though I do have a concern with the addition of orc strength. Way back when, orc strength was removed from Azdrazi for, presumably, balance reasons. This CA has access to more powerful spells than Azdrazi and has orc strength ontop of that, which would probably make them a bit too much of a powerhouse. I understand this is an endgame CA, and thus signicant power should be expected, but the same applies to azdrazi, with not too dissimilar of a transformation to boot. Other than that, it pwetty good!
  23. I do think that in general, the server has improved community, toxicity and safety wise since say, a few years ago, but we've still got a long road to go. It's very positive that for the most part, communities grooming their young members into subscribing to an abhorent, racist and hateful worldview has been purged. Similarly, I think safety is taken much, much more seriously than prior to the whole tango ban situation. This is all very good and I hope we can continue this trend. However, in more recent times, we have also seen the administration team repeatedly unban very serious offenders AND repeat offenders of toxicity rules. Xray as often as you like for all I care, but if you've consistently shown to be unfriendly and hateful to people who don't align with your IRP goals or your IRL worldview, you really don't need to be given a 2nd, 3rd or 4th chance. Likewise, players that were toxic and got banned but have since mellowed out may not be so mellow if they're put back into potentially stressful conflict situations. I've seen plenty of cases were people swore that someone was reformed or grew up, only for them to be just as toxic the second they got thrust back into mineman wars or mineman politics. It's easy to be chill to others when you don't have a stake in any of the conflicts going on. I also think that in cases of toxicity, harrassement, etc, victims should be approached, in private, for their opinion. It shouldn't require them making a big forum post and getting a community riot in their favour for their comfort on the server to be protected from past offenders. Bring back villainy blacklists. I feel like very often, people who constantly get infractions and bans for conflict related stuff come back from their ban, join back up with their previous group of bandits/mercenaries/etc and fall right back into the same behavior. A villainy blacklist did work, and allowed players the chance to explore other avenues of the server without the stress of player versus player scenarios, and it may teach them to appreciate these other aspects of the server. Clearly defined boundaries to this blacklist are essential, though. I really do not believe that villainy blacklists are as restrictive as some people think. You're still allowed to defend your hometown against outside threats. If all you are willing to do on the server is attacking others IRPly, that's fine, if you do it in a fun and amicable way towards your opponents, but if you are unable to do that, maybe consider doing some other RP during your blacklist (like learning a new skill on your character, or exploring a new place). A big addition to the villainy blacklist should also be the return of rules against "poor villainy". If you're just going around robbing lone wanderers of everything of value constantly, while trying to press for pvp, being unkind to them, or putting in low effort emotes, that should be an offense for which you could get a villainy blacklist. When I joined, it was this way, and quite frankly, it worked decently enough back then. If you're to be a villain, you should atleast put effort into providing something worthwhile and not be uncaring about how the person on the receiving end might experience your RP. We're here to provide RP to eachother and that should be fun for both sides where applicable. Also, CRP is still inherently unfun and still needs a lot of work and streamlining. 1v1 me on Baldurs gate, scrub
