  4. forums getting hit with another 70+ reply naz amendment if you wanted to be really radical (and simpler tbf) you could just make naztherak unable to conceive CC at all, but christman's suggestion of 1 per naz is fine too. the ideal outcome of this would be that cursed children become less of a self-isolating element of the lore and it would encourage use of the bane as it was originally intended, to be a woeful and malevolent CURSE upon unwilling participants and not a cute family RP cosmetic

  6. “Heave, heave! Onward, o’ Dawn Treader!” The exhausted chimes of elven shipwrights and mariners puncture the drum of boots and wood, rickety wagons hauling voyage rations aboard and the crack of sails unfurling high upon the masts. A small assembly of elves crank the ship’s capstan, whose chain-links shudder one by one until its anchor bursts from the waters, seaweed and slimy muck clinging to its surface. Their skin burns a crude shade of red and glistens with a warm veneer of sweat, thin strands of hair sticking to their heat-beaten faces, yet they smile the sun’s smile. · · ─ ·✶· ─ · · The ocean's waters shimmer like little shards of diamond beneath the light of the high sun, radiant and burning and bright. It gently warms Dawn Treader's main deck, whose wooden floor thrums with the joyous rapport of dance and song, bare heels and twirling gowns sent into rhythm by elven maritime shanties. Two elves were wed over the waters this day, laughter trilling through the drum of their union’s song. They await the new world ahead, and they too smile the sun’s smile. · · ─ ·✶· ─ · · The eastern sun shafts through nestles of pine needles and spindly branches. The eastern woods thrum with latent energy, their canopies watching dutifully— and with such curiously— over the slow trek of wayward elves. They would lay claim to a craggy peak overlooking the woodland, and work with haste. With time, the woods had been tenderly cleared, supplemented with kindred tents and drapes to house the weary and weak whilst the fervid set to work. Yearning sets their hands into motion, while hope tempers their tired hearts, and they smile the sun’s smile. D E C R E E O F E L H A L E R N ’ Y U L L N Issued by the Ivory Crown & Grace of the High Prince, 1st of The Deep Cold, 257 s.a. Plainly written is the birthright of Cauróst, our righteous domain. The Ivory Mission decrees it the duty of her people to guard the nobility of elvish blood and dignify the mighty banners that came before them. Though only the most ignoble of elves would deign to challenge this edict, often in favor of today's comfort or tomorrow's pleasures, it is the deeds of the ambitious that shall protect the comforts of the complacent. History would witness haughty elvenkings and vicious warmongers weaponizing the prospect of elven unity as a tool of vanity and self-fulfillment. Indeed, incendiary propaganda and reckless tongues would suggest it is the will of the Princedom to invoke the mantle of Malinor. While the legacy of elven unity has been, and perhaps shall always be well within its grasp, what stays its hand is the fundamental recognition that Malinor was not a conquest, but a home. Yet, however gentle this truth may seem, it is the duty of the Princedom to act with such unerring resolve that it would steer away treachery to the legacy of our people and the banners that came before ours. It is the recognition that stewardship cannot be realized without conviction, nor conviction without honesty. It was the folly of those who came before us, and shall be the folly of those who come after us to neglect these principles. While the mantle of Malinor has earned its due reverence, it is the will of the Princedom to forge a legacy of its own. Thus, she bids elvendom this: reject the weakness, the indignity, and the apathy that has encumbered the late hearts of our kin, for legacy scarcely honors the hermit, but rather the bold. Cast aside callings of indolence and idle pleasures, and turn your gaze towards those whose hearts burn— turn your gaze towards the laborers, the dreamers, and the visionaries of elvendom alike. Should you find this dignified message agreeable, you are invited to our honored Eldertide to witness formal address from the Ivory Crown and her reverential promise to the people. Signed, Galahad Ílumrin High Prince of Cauróst, Prince of Malinor & Eldest Son of Húrin Ibarellan

  10. this is neat, very niche yes but it's refreshing to see posts as they just plainly relate to peoples' personal interests. cool stuff!
  11. obviously seeing stuff like "it's manageable unless you're an NL or equivalent" doesn't have me thrilled about interacting with whatever this plugin is, it feels extremely neglectful of the fact that people in leadership positions have jobs and IRL obligations that can be difficult to balance with what's supposed to be a hobby. so yeah my bad if I've been a little venomous towards seeing this plugin pushed forward I guess? to be blunt it feels shitty, and that's not even mentioning the profound but unsurprising lack of communication or community feedback on something evidently so controversial, if not even unfavorable by the majority and I think the lack of organized feedback is attributable to the fact that there's been no coherent reasoning for this plugin in the first place, and the best players have right now to speculate on is screenshots being passed around from discord and in-game conversations and word-of-mouth. there's no direct, tech-side messaging on 1. the purpose of the plugin 2. what it hopes to accomplish (this especially) maybe this stuff worked when we were all 12 and in middleschool but I'm 22 and would rlly like to just use this server as a creative outlet, as would most other people. there's zero reason this couldn't have just been a custom food recipe plugin divorced from vanilla foods, and if you don't confidently believe that people would interact with it were this the case, then it's not a very good plugin
  12. I think if people cared about farming RP nearly as much as they say they would literally just play farmer characters. go emote tilling the fields and herding the sheep and milking the cows and feeding the chickens with your friends. make custom food items described to be baked FRESH from the field of your farm. go hire farmhands and pay them in RP to tend to your animals and gather your crops. somehow you cant do any of this but a food plugin is whats going to be more fulfilling for you?

  13. what I especially love about this is that it allows people to play artists and painters in RP without the expectation of actually being able to draw OOCly or using AI images, which I think is a setback for most people. great job :)

  16. "mass mechanic avoidant spam" if u want people to stop having to counter ridiculous mechanics with ridiculous builds u should be promoting giving petty theft a region-based cooldown. whinging at ppl for finding ways to counter petty theft mechanics instead of channeling all of this anger towards the people who spam /smash on 40+ doors and windows at 3am is so so silly

  20. "this ritual is already sparking a bunch of toxicity" even though the rite isn't even implemented yet. the raid yesterday went relatively fine aside from the usual CRP hiccups, and most people were RPing with each other cordially, I'm unsure what you're referring to when you cite toxicity if not for the two people on the defender's side who were being completely uncooperative the entire time in spite of a mod verdict at some points. like you can feel how you want about the RP I can't control that but engaging in hysterics about how toxic and abusable this amendment inherently is, is silly and objectively wrong though if there were people on the attacker's side who were actually engaging in backdoor toxicity w/o our knowing by all means just communicate that with us in DMs
  21. as rigorous mentioned the "huge advantage" in question is just that we'd have to disconnect someone two times as opposed to one, I'd encourage u guys to look at this with some more nuance than me just wanting to powerboost myself. I'm washed and I don't have the time to scheme and constantly hunt people and lately I've just been sitting in the backdrop of other peoples' plotlines (which I'm okay with). don't drink the koolaid pls I'm not an evil OOC plotter
  22. Omitted lore is marked with Strikethrough Changes are marked in Bold Current Lore: The Disconnection Ritual Although a False-Prince will never truly find himself free of the Pentacle's shackles, those who are spiteful enough to do so may render his magic inert. He may either be forced into a life of soulless itinerance, or find it within himself begin his journey with a new, far more macabre goal in mind, such as gaining revenge on those who dare cross him. New Lore: The Disconnection Ritual Although a False-Prince will never truly find himself free of the Pentacle's shackles, those who are spiteful enough to do so may render his magic inert. He may either be forced into a life of soulless itinerance, or find it within himself begin his journey with a new, far more macabre goal in mind, such as gaining revenge on those who dare cross him. Note: This amendment does not work retroactively and is only enforced upon all disconnects post-acceptance. If the LT want, we're open to discussing modifications to the ritual to make it more costly since the purpose here is to make it a permanent, one-time disconnection. Purpose: It’s narratively clunky that Naztherak disconnections currently operate on a two-strike system. The magic has always promoted a very self-cannibalizing RP culture of infighting, yet feels as though the disconnection rite, what should be one of the most punishing spells available to the magic, fails to reflect this by allowing for an arbitrary second chance in RP that feels contradictory to the will of the Rokul as we understand it. The hope with this amendment would be to allow for a more fulfilling and consequential narrative experience, given there's no real reason RPly or OOCly (that I can think of/am aware of) to allow for one to be reconnected if you aren't even regaining the slots when you get DC'd the first time. I'm open to feedback and dialogue on this, as I acknowledge I play a Zar'akal and won't be subjected to this myself.
