  1. The Festival of St. Lucien 8th of Sun’s Smile, 22 S.A. [!] A depiction of the Luciensburg square in full festivity! All are invited to the first festival within the grand city of Luciensburg! Travel past the East Fleet and down the road toward Yong Ping to find the gates of the newly built city of humanity. The festival will begin with a consecration of the city’s church, followed by a brawl, drinking tourney, and several other festivities within the city’s square. Be surrounded by food, drink, and celebration as we honor St. Lucien and our founding within the lands of Almaris! Consecration of The Church of Blessed Jon Renault The Bishop of Luciensburg will start the festival off with a consecration of our newly established city’s church. Under God’s gaze, we will bless our place of worship in His name. In doing so, the people of Luciensburg and their guests will honor our devout following of the Church of Canon, and have a few moments of reflection and celebration before the festivities begin. The Brawl The art of proper brawling is returning to the lands of humanity with the establishment of Luciensburg. Any man or woman interested in competing in a fist fight are welcome to do so during the festival. The chessboard will temporarily be transformed into a fighting cage for the festivities, in which competitors will prove their strength and skill. The victor of this brawling tourney will receive a 200 minae prize as well as a trophy of their success in combat. We encourage people from all cities to participate- may God guide you to victory. The Sword in the Stone While the joust is ongoing, a peculiar and most beautifully forged sword may be found buried deep in solid stone in the Luciensburg square. Only those with extreme precision and strength may be able to unsheathe this blade from its rocky prison. The first man or woman to successfully draw it from the stone may keep the weapon for themselves. This means that the sword in the stone is first come, first served, so make sure to arrive early. Each participant may have only one chance at drawing the blade. The Drinking Tourney The last of the planned festivities will take place just outside of the brawling cage. Tables will be set up around the square, heavy with kegs of rich beer. Competitors will be served rounds of lager until only one man or woman remains capable of proving their sobriety. The victor of this simple event will receive a mina prize of 150 minae, as well as the prestige of being the heaviest weight drinker in all of Luciensburg. 7. AULIC COURT OF THE KINGDOM OF HANSETI-RUSKA ve Krawn z. Ruthern 12th of Msitza and Dargund | 367 E.S. Jovenaars Ms. Eleanora A. Mannox (Presiding) Ms. Erika Kortrevich (Assistant) Mrs. Reza B. Gynsburg (Assistant) Prosecution Lord Matyas Baruch Defense Ser Alric var Ruthern (Defendant) Lord Aldrik Baruch (Legal counsel) Testimonies Lord Stefan Vyronov Lady Annika Vyronov Lady Marie Barclay Her Majesty, Queen Mother Isabel Barbanov Mister Igor Kort Lord Ramdir Amador Corbin Wick THE FOLLOWING CHARGES WERE BROUGHT AGAINST THE DEFENDANT; 404.01: An individual who intentionally inflicts bodily harm on another shall be guilty of the middling offence of assault. THE FOLLOWING IS THE VERDICT BROUGHT BY THE JOVENAARS; Jovenaar Mannox, joined by Gynsburg and Kortrevich; The Defendant, Ser Alric of House Ruthern, is found guilty by unanimous consent on the charge of assault, to which the punishment is a branding upon the arm and a monetary fine of 300 minae. THE FOLLOWING IS THE RATIONALE FOR THE DECISION FROM THE PRESIDING JOVENAAR; On the charge of Assault; Jovenaar Mannox delivered the opinion of the court In the case against Knight Paramount Ser Alric Ruthern, the consistent evidence of bodily harm on the personage of the alleged victim, Lord Stefan Vyronov was sufficient to incriminate the former for abusing the power of his office to physically intimidate the latter. While inconclusive testimonies gave conflicting details concerning the duration of the choking incident on the part of the plaintiff, the Aulic Court ruled that Ser Alric’s motive to silence Lord Stefan Vyronov was more likely. Evidence given by key witnesses, including a dossier by the Haeseni Royal Army and the damage to Lord Vyronov’s neck by the Surgeon-General compelled the court to find guilt on the charge of assault. The overwhelming testimonies of witnesses who noted the lack of injury upon Lord Vyronov’s throat upon entering Ser Alric’s office, and the presence of such injury upon exiting led the court to believe such wounds could not have been caused by any other party. However, the court perceived exaggeration of Lord Vyronov’s injuries due to the reasoning that a severe choke lasting the duration of a minute and a half would almost certainly kill a man, and gaps in witness accounts and medical reports given throughout the trial led to further doubt. Due to these uncertainties, the court decided on the finalized lightened punishment for the defendant. The defense noted severe distaste between the two parties for unrelated issues, aiming to bring into question the honesty of why such charges were being pressed. However, due to the testimonies provided by Lord Stefan Vyronov, Lady Marie Barclay, Mister Igor Kort, and Lord Ramdir Amador, the evidence of assault committed by Ser Alric was undeniable. It is so ordered.
  8. Kamila Baruch, one of three children that struggled on despite their father’s abuse and mother’s agony. One of two, really. The woman, too, had been crazed for nearly a decade, since the death of their eldest sister. She mourned the loss of the only brother she had recognized since she was a child, soon falling into a fitful sleep under the stars- one full of frightful memories of yelling and crashing. Lina Baruch mourned the loss of her uncle alongside her siblings and cousins. The pack of Baruch children felt the ache of this loss, despite Matyas’s faults. He was the only man they had ever seen lead their family, after all.
  9. Annaliese Baruch-Kortrevich welcomes her father into the Seven Skies with open arms. She had always been his favorite, and he hers. “Welcome home, Papej. It’s been too long. It’s time to rest.”
  10. Lina Baruch is once again reminded of why she calls her role model “Mister Fire” as the young girl scampers through the streets of Oren searching for customers! “Quality produc’s fer sale! They’re legal and everythin’!”
  11. Lylianth Ithelanen situated her plated armor upon its stand, sighing lightly in her painfully quiet chambers. Her days of anger-fueled bloodshed were over, it seemed - at least for now. Her Other had been avenged, after all, and his murderer had suffered at her hands.
  12. "Step back into the light, friends." A war-torn Lylianth Ithelanen murmurs, standing nowhere near a fireplace to resist her elven urge to burn parchment! Her partner lay dead, and yet she welcomed them.

  14. A certain mousey-haired elfess sharpens her blade in the forge of Camlannen, grieving the loss of her partner. She bears freshly made markings of the Ithelanen; her set of dark plated armor laying at the ready nearby. - "His life was worth a thousand of theirs." Lylianth utters.

The game of Bottezk Zvaerdz Bottezk Zvaerdz is a game originating from the lands of Hanseti-Ruska. Using wooden tops created intentionally for this entertaining battle game, competitors release their tops in the wooden Bottezk Zvaerd arena to test who the strongest player in the realm is! This game can be played by 2+ players, although standard-sized stadiums will become rather crowded at around 8 competitors. Rules of the Game I. To begin the round, the competitors must count down from three and declare “Zvas supae vy!” (or “Let it rip!” in common) and release their tops into the arena at the same time. II. The last to remain spinning in the arena will be named the victor of the round. If the victor’s opponent fell, the victor receives +1 point. If the victor’s opponent was knocked out of the arena, the victor received +2 points. IV. The first to reach 10 points wins the game. V. If playing with more than two players, add 5 points to the end goal for each extra person. VI. When playing with more than two players, you may earn points for every top that was knocked out or knocked down. [OOC Rules] I. [Each player rolls out of 20 when the round starts. II. The player with the highest roll wins the round. III. A player who is beaten by more than 10 in a roll is knocked out of the arena. If the difference is less than 10, they are only knocked down. The average Zvaerd weighs approximately 3oz and is carved from solid wood into a heavy-duty spinning top. Official Zvaerdz have detailed engravings upon the top, otherwise known as facepieces. Official Zvaerdz may be purchased from the Roger & Co. shop. The shop currently offers Golden Crow Zvaerdz, HRA Zvaerdz, (LE) Koeng Josef Zvaerdz, (LE) Koenas Isabel Zvaerdz, and (LE) Lord Manfred Zvaerdz. Zvaerdz can be made by one’s self; however, size and weight may be inconsistent. (LE) = Limited Edition The Arena The Bottezk Zvaerdz arenas consist of large, shallow wooden battle stadiums, which resemble oversized serving bowls. The interior wood should be sanded smooth for maximum spin. These can be found in various locations around New Reza, or easily carved on one's own. Signed, Eleanora Mannox
  22. Ve Prinzen i ve Jard A Haeseni folktale 12th of Jula and Piov, 345 | 12th of Malin’s Welcome, 1792 I write of a story told to me and my brothers by our mother, Marya Baruch var Ruthern, back when we were children many years ago. As the last of her children, and as the sickness spreads throughout my bones, I saw it fit to write this tale down on parchment for the first time since it was originally told generations ago. I dedicate the first written version of this folktale to my four sons: Karl, Rickard, Aldrik, and Varon. May they grow to be strong northerners, as their family before them. Centuries ago, in the faraway lands of Vailor, the isles of olde were riddled with the marring of violence and warfare. The unjust Duke of Courland, removing his vassals from their lands to expand his power, had angered his human neighbors. The strong men of Carnatia and Vasiland allied their forces and set off to battle against the Courlandic threat, led by an ancient Barbanov. During one such battle, that of the Battle of the Curon Forest, the Coalition was in trouble. The forest was slick from the heavy rainfall as the troupes pushed on through the tree cover. The commanders had abandoned their steeds miles back, being unable to pass through the dense underbrush and hazardous mud. The two commanders led their men onwards, toward the awaiting enemy. The Duke of Courland commanded three times the forces of the Coalition, despite this knowledge, the brave soldiers marched forth. The Courland forces hid among the trees not far off, lacking in strength and honour but not in wiliness, they brandished alchemist’s fire. As the sky grew dark and night fell, the troops drew to a halt, setting up camp not a few miles from the front lines at the orders of their Barbanov commander. They didn’t dare light a fire, eating stale bread for their supper and sleeping atop the boggy earth. Throughout the night, the Courlanders lay in wait. As dawn broke, the soldiers ate their measly rations and proceeded, cautiously, deeper into the forest. The Barbanov leader sent a scout ahead, knowing they were drawing near. Unfortunately, it was too late, in the blink of an eye, everything around the troops was flaming. The shattering of glass bottles sounded through the trees. The commander’s boot slipped with the startling sudden attack, and he was thrown to the muddied ground. His voice rang out over the shouts of his men, commanding them to get back into position. Following the Barbanov’s every order, the soldiers pushed forth, but they were beyond outnumbered. For each Courlander cut down, another two sprang up. The commander led the push nonetheless. As they started to lose ground, the commander realized his men were losing faith. He called out loudly, but the clash of blades and the sounds of combat drowned him out. Through the trees ahead, however, he could see something running. As it drew closer, he realized what it was. A massive northern stag, larger than a fully mature horse, burst through the trees. He continued to fight as the beast ran directly to him, leaving trampled Courlanders in its wake. In a moments gap in the onslaught, the stag lowered itself to the ground, and without hesitation, the commander hoisted himself onto its back. The Barbanov’s voice boomed louder now as he called out to the soldiers of the Coalition. Far more Courland uniforms now lay still. The commander and the mighty stag cut down all in their path, and the soldiers followed suit. All at once, an arrow whistled through the air above the battle, and pierced through the commander’s chest as his steed was midstride. He toppled from the stag, the life seeping from his body before it hit the earth. The men nearest him bellowed in rage, but followed as the stag pressed onward. Their commander was gone, yet they pushed forward until the entire enemy force lay still in the mud, and the victor’s banners were waved high. The stag retreated back into the forest from which it had come, and a cheer of northern glory echoed from the men on the battlefield. Despite their losses, they had won. Signed, The Most Honorable, Marya Annaliese Baruch-Kortrevich, Margravine-Consort of Korstadt
