Charity for Whitespire, 1942 The extent of flooding in the Royal Capital of Whitespire. 2nd of Harren’s Folly, in the year of our Lord 1942. Hear ye faithful, no more than a few days past has a giant wave washed over the city of Whitespire, flooding its streets and destroying the homes of a great many of its denizens. In the wake of such devastation it cleaves to us, those united by the Faith, to provide for our fellow man in his time of need. Saint Amyas’ Hospital is actively looking for students, and aspiring medics and physicians. Taking part in the medical field is a great opportunity to have a positive impact on other people. It is located in the clinic of Whitespire, Aaun Positions of the Clinic Head Physician | Julietta Haverlock The Head Physician is the most advanced person, overlooking the entire clinic. This role carries the most responsibilities, that range to management tasks, and leading the school itself. Julietta Haverlock is on maternity leave, so myself, Leutwin Barclay will be picking up on the roles of a Head Physician. Clinic Councilors | Leutwin Barclay The members of this society are appointed by the Head Physician based on their experience and contribution. They have the ability to perform a wide variety of surgeries, and other medical procedures. Councilors carry the role of an administrator, working alongside the Head Physician. Physicians Physicians have advanced skill, and have the capability to deal with most medical procedures, and surgeries. They have knowledge on treatments, and other methods. To become a physician, you will need to serve the clinic for some years, and take lessons. Medics Becoming a medic is the most common thing that happens in the clinic. A medic’s experience doesn’t require a large amount of surgeries, but they have capability to perform procedures to save the life of a patient. They are encouraged to be taking lessons, whilst carrying the medic role. Students Students will be found carrying this role, if they wish to work up in the medical field. Acolytes of the clinic can have any amount of experience, and will be warded under the Councilors, if they wish. Students will be required to pass tests at the end of their training, to be considered a medical professional. New tasks and challenges await our Principality every new day. In accordance with the positions announced at the inauguration of Merryweather and by the authority granted to me as the Prince von Alstreim by His Majesty, the King, I announce the establishment of the first Princely Council of Merryweather. The council will consist of six members and its main task will be to assist the Prince of Merryweather in his reign and to advise him at times of need. Members of the Council, with the exception of the Bailiff, are appointed for an indefinite time period, which stipulates that the end of their term of office is marked by resignation, removal from the Council by the Prince of Alstreim blood or death. Each Council member must have been a citizen of Merryweather for at least five years prior to appointment and must have demonstrated skills that will assist them in fulfilling the duties of their specific position. Each person who sits on the Council is accountable to the Prince of Merryweather directly, without any intermediaries, as it is the Council members who enact the laws of the Principality and should ensure that these laws are respected. He is the first Sheriff to be stationed in the office located in the heart of the Principality, right outside of the Schloss Ulrichsburg, and the same office will be the seat of the next Sheriffs of Apfelberg after Herr Vanderrecht retires from office. DER KOMMANDANT DER RANGERS VON MERRYWEATHER The Commander of the Rangers of Merryweather Dietrich Faust is someone who needs no introduction to anybody in Aaun. A capable and loyal soldier, always standing at the side of Prince von Alstreim. His faith in the Alstreim cause is supported by his brave deeds, for it was he who tracked down and then killed many spawns of Iblees on behalf of the Prince. Now, officially for his service and merit, he is appointed the Commander of the Rangers of Merryweather so that he can continue to track down darkspawn and bring them justice in the name of God and the House von Alstreim. As the Commander of the Alstreim levy, the Commander has the authority to: I. Promote his soldiers to a higher rank. II. Track down, in coordination with the Sheriff, darkspawn on his own and fully at the expense of the Principality. III. Execute, publicly or privately, not only the spawns of Iblees but also criminals if the situation requires such measures. DER LANDVOGT VON APFELBERG The Bailiff of Apfelberg Anyone who has spent time among the people of Merryweather knows the master trader, champion at cooking, Boon, very well. His presence as well as his support is invaluable. From the very beginning, he faithfully stood by our cause, providing us with quality meals and good company. Now comes his time of trial, as he is appointed the first Bailiff of Apfelberg for the next four years. As head of the Merryweather community, Bailiff has certain authority: I. Collection of taxes from residents of Apfelberg and other parts of the Principality. II. Organise local festivals where every culture present in Merryweather will be promoted. III. During the election of the next Bailiff, the previous Bailiff can vote for himself with the power of one vote or another candidate with the power of two votes. Despite the hardships and tough, rocky terrain, we built our new home on the slopes of the Langkette Mountains. May it serve us for many years to come and, after our death, for the next generations who will inhabit the territory of our beautiful Principality. ANNOUNCEMENT OF PASSING Penned by HH the Prince of Merryweather & HRH the Dowager Lady of Alba In the year of our Lord, 1935 Following the discovery of HH, the Prince of Merryweather, it is with great sorrow that we, the Royal House of Alstion, announce the passing of our Crown Prince, Henry Charles. The remains of the Lord Alba were carefully returned to the Hand of Horen where the Household could pay their respects. With a passing such as this, the Royal House requests a mourning period of five months following the death of our beloved Prince and heir, and subsequently vigils shall be held in the coming months. DIE OFFIZIELLE KLAGE IM NAMEN VON BOON UND BANE Official Complaint on behalf of Boon and Bane Penned by the Princely Scribe, Konrad Lipa in the year of our Lord, 1935 [ ♪ ] It has been three years since the bloody war between the Canonist League and the Free Duchy of Adria came to the long-awaited end. For most of us, it was the day we felt like our lives were going to be normal again. This was the case until the quiet and unobtrusive life of my two subjects, the internationally famous, merchant brothers, Boon and Bane, ceased to be so. Working by the sweat of their brow, making their quality products, the brothers have long been the subject of ridicule, insults, threats and defamation against the brand that the brothers represent. If that fact was not enough, all the insults and rumours come from the mouths of our citizens. People who, like these two, God-fearing brothers, serve the King and country. Both brothers are not afraid to advertise their local, Aaunic business across all lands of Aevos - from Talar’nor in the west, to Lurin in the east, from the heat of volcanic plains and frost of frozen tundra in the north, to the warm sands and jungles in the south. The brothers had long restrained their tongues so as not to complain about their tormentors, but when an axe was pressed to the chest of the larger of the brothers, and the second was harassed by two masked men, after he was seen speaking to the people working at local pizzeria - that was the last straw. As the Prince of Merryweather, I will not tolerate intimidation and oppression of my people. All incidents were supported by the words of witnesses, so there is no question of confusion or deliberate framing. This lawsuit concerns two individuals - Ramwold von Bardenwig and Gofdazz, the orc. It is not my wish, as their liege lord, to make the accused face the Whitespirian judges but if they decide it is the way they wish to solve this matter, let it be so. TWICE CURSED A POV post by the young Lady Viktoria of Stran. Viktoria wondered if she was twice cursed. She never thought much of the first, her family's curse, even as it did tend to affect her day to day life but now.. Now, she stood by her youngest sister as her heart ached and her stomach churned. She explained what wardship was, but did not explain its reasoning. War. The child had wished she could say the war never affected her, but she knew of it as long as she could remember. One of her first memories was herself at the mere age of three, toddling along behind her eldest brother within the refugee camps of Aaun as they chased after a Goat. She beamed and laughed, not knowing any better as threats were made upon her family's livelihood. And so it continued. One moment after another. Her mothers title stripped away, and thus her heirship in turn. She had become simply the Lady Viktoria then, and it took her time to find her bearings. And then the end of the world, or that of the land of the Almaris as she knew it came and a whole new war began. It was different, it took away what she knew as a ‘home’, if you can call a refugee camp home and simply sent her into another refugee camp, one in Savoy. Time passed, and she found herself in a new land and this time, in a true to GODANI home. Vaska. --- Things were looking up, or so it had seemed. She went from place to place, all kept succinctly within the Kingdom of Aaun. Vaska, Minitz, Whitespire. Repeat. But it became her new life and one she came to enjoy. She did not live in a tent but instead had a room. One she could call her own, with paintings decorating the walls, and embroidered pillows of her own making strewn everywhere. A day came, though, in which she visited Whitespire with her eldest brother. Viktoria prattled on, as she often did, about the interview she did for the mayoral candidate just earlier that day. First a man, then multiple came to them, claiming she had committed a crime! Viktoria had no idea what crime she could have committed, and the men did not wear the armor of any of the places of Aaun. In fact, she did not recognize their armor from anywhere. She tugged on her brother's hand, some anxiety there, as the small girl of thirteen wished to get away. Her heart pounded, frantic and not sure what to expect. They grabbed at her, yanking her from her brother who soon pulled her back and a fight broke loose. It was all such a blur and it all happened so fast. A sharp pain came, having taken something sharp, she couldn’t even be sure what sort of weapon it was; straight to her gut. Viktoria collapsed upon the floor, and she cried for her brother, bony hands pressed over the injury at her waist. The pain was debilitating, and the last thing she could remember was one of her fathers men stepping in front of her prone form, standing before her. The next she’d awoken, everything had hurt and blurry faces were seen before her. Her brother, and her family were not among them. She was in the Minitz clinic. Her brother in the Whitespire clinic. The siblings were separated, unsure if the other were alright. --- It took some time to heal fully. Her movements were careful, and she was not allowed to step foot outside of her home during then. Vaska had become Stran sometime before her injury. A great pride that made her beam, further so when the King so graciously accepted her petitioned gift, as she’d improved in her embroidery. And finally, some time later, she was healed. She didn’t go anywhere without her guard anymore, even if she were with one of her family members and things seemed to be getting back to something better. The bandits, though, they kept coming back. Always causing trouble, and always seemingly running the moment things had gone bad, attempting to entrap those back in their homeland; Adria. And so the day of the royal wedding came, and the Lady Viktoria made way for the basilica with her guard - and soon afterwards the palace. She took note of her dear friend, Leutwin who seemed to be nowhere to be seen after that of the wedding and she went in search of him about the palace as the feast took place. There was no sign of him, the young girl of now fourteen unaware of her friend being tortured by those who sought to take her previously. And so she explored, and she spoke to others, until she came to a standstill within the palace gardens. Her father and the Princess Adeline spoke and a deal was made. She is to be warded. She would move to the palace. She would see her family less and less. Why? War. Viktoria wondered if she was twice cursed.

The City of Whitespire, called by many as New Paradisus 21th of Horen’s Calling, 1927 THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF PARADISUS; OR THE GOVERNMENT OF THE WARDS We find ourselves upon a new land of plenty and paradise. It has been some time since our settlement amongst the new heartlands, we have built, lived, and thrived. But a matter of importance is upon us, we must also be governed, most importantly our glorious capital of Whitespires requires a tool to represent its great citizens. And so it shall be. The Crown grants the Municipality of Whitespires privileges under the Gradic Rights which outline their autonomy and freedom from serfdom. The Gradic rights were originally given to the Imperial City of Felsen during the reign of John II, a Johannian Holy Orenian Emperor, which allowed for greater autonomy to the city through a series of municipal rights many centuries ago. These rights came from a series of laws which gave privileges to the burghers, exemption from serfdom, and the ability for self-governance and self-defense. THE GRADIC RIGHTS, c.1557 Hitherto the populace of this town shall be referred to as any legal landholder within municipal authority. Hitherto does the populace of this town have the right to waive feudal privilege and govern itself. Hence the town has the right to choose a leader from amongst its own. Hence the town has the right to produce and publish laws and rights regarding itself. Hitherto does the populace of this town have an exemption from serfdom. Hitherto does the populace of this town have the right to freedom of travel. Hitherto does the populace of this town have the right to collect tax, tolls, and impose fees. Hitherto does the populace of this town have the right to petition it’s lord. THE LORD MAYOR OF WHITESPIRE The elected executive of the city, to serve a term of six years in service of Whitespire. Perhaps one of the most important positions within the municipal government. I. The Lord Mayor has been bestowed the responsibility to head the municipal government and delegate to relevant individuals by assigning them to a post within the government and sacking any unfit individuals from their post. II. The Lord Mayor has been given the authority to veto any law, ordinance, statute, or amendment which has been passed by the Assembly of Whitespire provided that said legislation does not have a two-thirds majority. III. The Lord Mayor is hereby granted authority to banish any lowborn from the City of Whitespire. IV. The Lord Mayor is hereby granted authority to evict any convicted villain from the City of Whitespire. V. The Lord Mayor is hereby responsible for the duties of his subordinates, lest there is no one to complete them. VI. The Lord Mayor has been given the power to order construction and demolition within the City of Whitespire. MAGISTRATE OF WHITESPIRE The Magistrate of the City of Whitespire is elected by the Council of the Wards, with assent from the Lord Mayor of Whitespire. I. The Magistrate is instructed to sit as judge for cases brought to court by the common citizens within the City of Whitespire. II. The Magistrate is hereby charged to oversee the grievances of the Citizenry. III. The Magistrate has been instructed with the enforcement of Canon, Royal, and City Law, in the case of noble, common, and natural law. IV. The Magistrate is tasked with the implementing, retracting and redrafting of any laws they deem fit from the set of City Laws. V. The Magistrate is given the ability to appoint deputy judges, to act as overseers of cases when the Magistrate is unavailable to hear them. VI. The elected Magistrate must be certified by the Justicar of Aaun. THE STEWARDRY OF WHITESPIRE The Stewardry of the Municipality are directly under the purview of the Crown and the Royal house, being administered by the Office of the Seneschalty. The Stewards operate mostly independently of the municipal government, however, their voice and opinions are invaluable to the dialogue of the Council of Wards due to their various duties about the capital. With such, one of their number shall be appointed by the High Seneschal to represent their ideas and interests within the wardly council. The Steward-Representative is tasked with the following duties: I. The Steward-Representative shall represent the opinion of the Seneschelty to the Council of Wards II. The Steward-Representative shall also argue the opinion of the Seneschelty to the Council of Wards III. The Steward-Representative shall bring forth legislation they believe will be beneficial to the stewardry and the royal municipality. THE WARD REPRESENTATIVES The City of Whitespire consists of four wards; the Noble Ward, the Merchant’s ward, the Southern Ward, and the Church’s Ward. From each of these wards representatives will be elected, one from the Southern and Northern Wards, one from the Noble Ward, and one appointed by the clergy from the Church’s Ward. Each representative shall serve a term of six years. These Representatives are tasked with the following responsibilities: I. The Representatives are tasked with showing the will of the citizens within the Wards they head. II. The Representatives are tasked with the making of laws for the capital’s jurisdictions. III. The Representatives are tasked with having a meeting of the city’s council every two years THE COUNCIL OF WARDS The Council of Wards is the legislative body consisting of the following municipal members; the Lord Mayor, the Magistrate, the Steward-Representative, and the Ward Representatives. The Council is where the light of democracy is brought out; arguments can be heard from its members for an entire city block it is said, frequently the People come to watch in entertainment at such. The body is headed by the Lord Mayor, often beginning with a vote on whether or not a council meeting is necessary, and if it is, several measures are heard, before a vote to end the council’s session. Every two years a meeting of the council is to be had to ensure the people’s complaints and voices are heard and listened to. ELECTORAL PROCEDURES I. The Lord Mayor serves a term of six years. There is no limit on the amount of terms a Lord Mayor may serve. The citizenry of Whitespire may impeach the Lord Mayor with a simple vote from them. II. The Magistrate serves for life until they are sacked by the Justicar of Aaun or by being removed by a vote of the Council of Wards with a vote of sixty percent to do so. III. The Steward-Representative is appointed by the High Seneschal, serving until sacked by the High Seneschal or being removed by a vote of the Council of Wards with a vote of sixty percent to do so IV. The Ward Representatives are voted into office by a popular vote by the population of Whitespire. They serve for a term of six years with no term limits. The letter bears the seal belonging to Jan Jazloviecki, the first Count of Warsovia. You're still young, a bit foolish and impulsive, but I was no different when I was your age. I don't know when this letter will reach you, but I want you to know that the voyage is going smoothly. We should reach our destination soon enough. This information always comforts me in some way, but between you and me I will tell you that I have heard it so many times already that I no longer believe it. Having many days to myself, undisturbed by anyone, I decided to write this letter to let you know that my thoughts are always with you. I would like you to look at everything I have done from a slightly different perspective after reading this letter. Maybe you will notice something remarkable in this story for yourself. I was a young boy, younger than you are now, when I was forced to live through the terrors of the Harvest Revolution. I saw blood, corpses, pain and suffering of the people I called friends and family. I saw what happened to my father, what happened to my sisters and brother. Each of us was affected differently by this conflict. The revolution left a mark on me that I have never been able to shake off. Feelings of guilt, powerlessness and weakness. I felt inferior to my siblings but at the end of this road it turned out that I was the one who survived the longest. I was the one who raised up our bloodstained banner and crossed the river Petra to reach the place you now call home. It was a huge endeavour. Together with your uncle Henryk, we set up camp in the ruins. The days passed quickly but there was more work than we thought. Cleaning up the rubble, clearing the courtyard, gathering large amounts of stone, wood and other materials from which we built Kamieniec, our new home. The new seat of House Jazloviecki was nothing when compared to Grodno, but we were humble. It was not much, but it was enough for us at the time. I lived in the castle and didn't pay attention to what was around me. My family still lived in Petra. It was so foolish of me to care little about them. When they needed me most I was not there. Bianka was murdered and the wound in my heart reopened. Did I hate her? Yes. Blind pride and the belief that she could not match our father's genius caused my neglect of our relationship. By the time I wanted to fix this, it was too late. My sister was dead and there was nothing I could do about it. I don't wish you to ever have to go through such a thing in your life dear son. After this incident when I officially became the patriarch of the house, I married your mother. My life changed completely. I have always said to you, your brothers and sisters that it is family and loyalty that comes first. I still hold that view. If I can ask for anything, and I know I have been a terrible father and you may hold a grudge against me, but if there is one thing I can ask for then please take care of your siblings and stay loyal to those who gave us new life. Take what fate gives you no matter if it's better or worse than what you were getting before because there may come a day when you lose everything. [♪] It was a sunny day in the realm of the Argent Sun. A Holy Knight, named August Jazloviecki-Buckfort was sitting in his old armchair that remembers the golden era of Savoy, while smoking his cigar. The sun was shining on his old, hairy face and the man simply smiled at the distant star. He was old, he sensed that his end would come sooner or later. He puffed his cigar one more time before extinguishing it and standing up “It’s time” he thought to himself before walking back inside the old Triglav Keep. The man put his sword on the clothed table and prayed for a moment. Once he was sure of his intentions he went down to the cellar and took out a barrel of Uruk Guzzoline. “I once cheated death, it’s due time to embrace it” he said to himself before walking out with the said barrel and putting it on his horse. It took several days for the Knight to reach the heartlands that have been like a second home for him ever since his beloved Savoy fell. There was one thought in his head - Dumapalooza. So as he did exactly what he has planned - August approached the gate, and greeted his nephew Aleksander Wilhelm with a smile, as none of his relatives knew of his intentions. He went in carrying the barrel in his bag,after that the Old Knight went for a peaceful walk toward the building, while entering he moved through the crowd to find himself standing near the fireplace that was close to the podium where the candidates for a new Duke of Adria were standing. He hesitated a bit, but after a short prayer he glanced at the gathered Adrians and opened the barrel. The smell was quite distinct, though due to the crowd it didn’t spread quickly. August raised his arms and poured all the content of the barrel over himself. He was certain that his decision was righteous and thus this action will be the best and only possible way to purify his soul. Moments later the elderly man reached into the fireplace and immediately caught on fire. The crowd turned their heads towards the Knight but it was too late. Holy Knight screamed his last words as his body stood in flames… His goal was simple - hit the representatives of House von Draco, enemies of his relatives and of his own. Then the most unexpected of all possible things happened - a poor recruit stepped in to stop the burning Knight. He could not stop therefore he rushed into the boy, causing burn damage to his clothes and skin. He did not succeed, but he tried. His duty was fulfilled and his soul cleansed. The last Argent Legionnaire, last living Savoyard and last Jazloviecki Holy Knight dropped dead as his body burned in agony. August Mikołaj Jazloviecki-Buckfort lived 109 years, now he departed on his last journey, to find eternal peace and finally reconnect with his lost friends and family.
