  2. ISSUED BY: TITLE ON: 16TH OF SIGISMUND’S END, 181 S.A TRIAL OF COURTSHIP To Lorand Korvacz, You have proposed to my daughter and heiress to my demense, without speaking to me on the matter beforehand. While I am sympathetic to those who seek their love with passion, it is still improper to have proposed to my daughter without approval of House Whitewood. No potions C. No magics or enchanted weaponry D. On Foot E. Melee If you best me, or sufficiently impress me proving that you will be able to protect my beloved Arowyn through the tribulations of life, you will receive my blessing to wed, and receive a warm welcome into the House of Whitewood. If you fail to best me in the duel, you will have two options you may choose from to attain sufficient honour befitting of my daughter’s status: A. Slay a Danugol B. Serve 10 years in the Brabantine Militia In all honesty, you might prefer the Danugol to me. I await you for the duel in Brabant, next saint’s day. [Wednesday 3PM EST] Visitors and Citizens are welcome to watch the duel. Signed, His Grace, Ser Sterling Blaxton-Whitewood, Duke of Brabant, Marquis of Lotusgrad, Baron of Blackwell, Lilenburg and Swan’s Keep, Lord of the Peaks, Protector of the Weefolk. 6. Spuds read on. The great plan slightly shifting “Surely they speak of the ratiki. Diseased ridden vermin. I must go on out and have a nice visit with Cyris as this now raises concern about our safety with Field mice.”
  7. The lore states the soul moves to the vessels when they return to the material realm so it'd be the same as any descendent.
  8. "I cannot believe they actually made peace," Raziel scratches his head. "Though... really not the way I'd have done it, for in the end - as Laurir Adelia will still be considered leader and adressed as such." - "But hey, a start "
  9. I love and hate it. I think the idea is cool, but also quite awkward. My question is: How do Void Souls interact with other lore pieces? For example malflame? Since their soul is in the void, would they be immune? Also, we sure we want another path to immortality?
  10. "It is time for a little reeducation." Henry Arthur Haverlock, the Duke of Blackworth said upon noticing his bannerman's name upon the missive.
  11. "CEASE THIS COLLECTIVIST GARBAGE!" Exclaims Lothair. "Such pretty words and high hopes always herald disordered behaviour."
  12. Arthur had been crafting, hard at work. He stared upon the large mural from the balcony in the place he was building deep underground- one just for himself. Still, Juniper did cross his mind every once in a while. He had far greater things to worry about, than her, he thought- though she still did cross his mind once in a while. Rarely showed kindness or compassion to him, he found himself growing some resentment towards the woman. But, he thought- But hopefully she was doing okay.
  13. One Lady Emma Amador was ecstatic to receive such an invitation. "Gosh! An invitation, just for me," she murmurs, in awe of it.
  14. A sickly 'thill grips the missive with two scarred hands, shaking. "Sickness, death, and decay..." he rasps under cursed breath.
  15. Princess Adalfriede received the invitation with an unreadable expression. She turned aside to her daughter, Josefina, who remained under essential house arrest. "You may attend and speak with your new friend the Lady Emma Amador, if your father approves." @alien_mc
  16. Tap. Tap. Tap. Across the stone, Juniper’s heels click-clacked quietly. Eventually, she reached the edge of the cliff, and sat down. For several moments she remained statue-still, without thoughts and without taking her eyes off the long drop below. All the while, the flora wilted around her. She was killing it with her presence. Ironic, isn’t it? But she could understand, in her own terrible way. Juniper knew she was difficult. She was a broken person with a lot of baggage. It would take work for people to love her, and for her to love her in return. First with Scrisa, then with Kasai. Juniper was a fighter. An instigator. A fiery temper that burned whoever she looked at. It destroyed her relationships. “I promise,” She swore. “I’ll never leave you. I’ll stay with you forever.” Even if she knew she couldn't keep the promise. Even if she knew it would kill her. It’s always torn her from the seams. Every time. Over time, she had grown scared. From when she first met Kiyoshi. He was unpredictable. He had been violent at times, and smothered her with love at others. “But as a woman of restraint, this doesn’t bother you at all, right?” He had crooned while holding his arm out in front of her. “You can help me be my sanity check. I’ll do anything for you,” He mused, wrapping his arms around Juniper in a hug. He moved to grab the woman’s wrists, pushing her against the wall to restrain her. “Juniper, stop it.” “I just want to make you so happy your cheeks hurt from smiling. You’re my entire world, Juniper. I love you.” “Oh just snap out of it, Juniper.” He hisses, backhanding her across the face. Of course, he had never laid a finger on her since they began dating. But still, Juniper couldn’t just forget the things he had done… things that not a single soul knew. Would he do it again? Would he do something else? Regardless, Juniper’s perception of love had grown twisted. She would never have to relearn violence if she behaved. If she were obedient. People were growing concerned. Hael, Silwyn, Malna… even Dainn and Arthur had expressed mild worry at some point. “Don’t let yourself get backed into a corner. If it ever becomes too hard or too dangerous, I will be here.” Silwyn. Sweet Silwyn. Juniper tried so hard to be strong. To protect her children from herself. They couldn’t know about her hurts, her traumas, her curses. But Silwyn saw through it. “I want to help you. Someone needs to.” “You’re sure on this one? You definitely, without a doubt, want him?” Dainn had never shown concern for Juniper. Not once in his life. They didn’t like each other; their acquaintance was one of convenience and loyalty to Yera. But even he spoke up. “I’m just trying to make sure we aren’t having a repeat of yet another man breaking your heart and resulting in you begging him to stay, or getting abused so much you try to end it.” “It is such a cruel thing…” Even a demon showed care. Even he wanted to protect Juniper. Protect her from her own lover. “I will come, I will protect you. I will help you break the locks if you are ready.” Of course she wanted Kiyoshi, didn’t she? It’s why she would lock away her problems. It’s why she would force herself to be easier to love. It’s why she would allow herself to be locked inside yet another metaphorical cage. But what would Lanre have done? Tell her to leave, probably. That she deserved someone better, or maybe that she should stop dating people. But Lanre was gone. “I miss Lanre and Scrisa.” It had been a bad day. Juniper had been reminded of her hurt. People she had loved more than life itself, murdered. And yet… she found no comfort. People celebrated the deaths of her family. No one was on her side. “Sermi made lots of promises to me… in a roundabout way, I understand.” Something churned in Juniper’s stomach as her lover spoke. Sermi? The devil? How could he dare try to relate her to Lanre? Was this supposed to make her feel better? Lanre may have been terrible, but people just didn’t know him… Not like Juniper did. No. And so, as any best friend would, she defended him. “Don’t compare him to Sermi.” But her anger, her grief… they were all swept aside, suppressed with a kiss on the cheek and a sigh. “What you said wasn’t fair.” But it was. How could Kiyoshi not see that? “I can’t be them.” Of course he couldn’t be them. No one could be them. No one could fill that void in her heart. No one could fix it. But Juniper didn’t want Kiyoshi to be them. Why couldn’t he listen? What didn’t he understand? Finally, Juniper felt something crack. Maybe it was her heart. Maybe it was her psyche. But she was falling. It was endless. And finally, she gave in and allowed herself to hit the ground. Juniper grew silent. Mellow. Submissive. She wouldn’t fight anymore. No, not unless it was life or death. But when would death show itself to her? It had been hours. Night had fallen, and the ground was withered and dead. Finally, Juniper sighed and stood. She was needed at home. And so, she returned to the chains that beckoned her. Some may have taken pity, seeing an angel whose wings had been clipped. Others may have felt relief; the devil had been put on a leash. But none could deny that the flower was withering in its vase, And the bird had lost her birdsong within her cage. Until, that is. . . She returned home that eve.
  17. "Where was my invite?" Volk's brows furrow as he reads Daahd-lur's supposed invitation.
  18. This lore has been denied. We are currently not accepting beast races at this time. Also, c'mon, these are just . . . murlocs.
  19. [!] Copies of the letter are spread across the heart of Aevos and to the east. They are tacked in nondescript locations, against clinic walls and nestled amongst military boards. Each is copied in a tight, shaking script, evidently written by a trembling hand that struggled to form the words it so desperately strives to put forth. ୧‿̩͙ ˖︵ ꕀ⠀ ⚙⠀ ꕀ ︵˖ ‿̩͙୨ It is coming. It lingers just beneath the surface, rearing to strike when we least expect - for that is when it is most successful. Plague. Disease. Death. It comes again; it is on the brink. Some of you may remember the Great Rat Plague of Oren in Almaris, before the split of the Kingdom, or heard tales of it from your parents. Evil destitute that rampaged the land, marred the fields, and caused many to fall perilously ill and die from the vile diseases these creatures spread. They sank their teeth into every scrap they could find and carried off what little health the peasantry clung to. They penetrated every home, every haven, to gnaw their way through foodstocks meant for winter stores and render it all rotten. They soiled the fields so that new harvests could not be gathered and stole mobility from farmers and animals alike. The plagues disappeared for some time, only to recur in force amongst Veletz, here on Aevos in some recent years. Again, starvation, death, and disease ran rampant, leaving those not safely tucked away in their towers of stone and comfortable chairs scrambling for a stale morsel to eat or dirtied water to drink. Just enough to live to the next day. The rats came again, sensing the time of hopelessness and striking when Veletz was at its weakest. They desecrated the dead and spread death amongst the barely living. You remember. It is a harsh reality to face death by painful illness or death by starvation. A reality forgotten in this time of unity amongst the nations. I pray you will never feel its grasp. Let us not be complacent in this time of peace, comfort, and good health, but strike out the plague at its roots before it has time to grow and bring yet another city to its knees. I beseech you, tear up and destroy those creatures that seek to invade, for they will invade again, slowly at first, unawares. For once they have gotten a foothold, they will be impossible to stop, and we will see our cities fall to plague as did Oren and Veletz. Soldiers. Medics. Farmers. Lay out traps for the rats, that their diseases might be halted before they are spread. Store your wares and foodstuffs carefully, that they might not be able to steal and desecrate. Lay your sword against the talking mouse-creatures, who are but disguised ambassadors for the hordes of plague-bearers, meant to lull us all into security by associating good-will with their species. Prepare medicines in case of sickness, and fire in case of death. We cannot allow prosperity, now that it has been attained, to be torn free from our grasp. Take heed! Lest we fall unawares to their snare. ୧‿̩͙ ˖︵ ꕀ⠀ ⚙⠀ ꕀ ︵˖ ‿̩͙୨ [!] No signature adorns the crumpled, aged parchment; only smudged fingerprints at the edges from the ink scrawled across the page.
  20. "It seems I misplaced hope & trust once more" voiced Iva with a sombre sigh. "Not that it matters, perhaps. Zalerya may rule over the family she plotted against for so long." Declared that now indifferent figure with a gentle yet dismissive tone. "It doesn't involve someone who is not part of it" the once defiant Iva then ceded. Neatly folding a copy of the missive, placing it into a satchel for safe-keeping. "May they find only peace" requested Iva to an unknown listener who was not present.
  21. Lord of Crocodiles, The Great Protector, Enforcer of the Natural Order Of the many great beasts that roam the lands, sands, and waters of the world, an ancient legacy of strength is brought forth through one of the most powerful of the world's creatures, the mighty Crocodile. This ancient and stalwart watcher of the rivers lays a swift and decisive judgment upon any who dare disrespect it, safe guarding their waters and territory from all who seek to trespass. It is this vigilance, this power, this endurance, that the great Lord Dorabek embodies, and it is these traits which he demands from those who follow his creed. But it is not just physical strength one must muster to follow the will of the Lord of Crocodiles, but a great spiritual and emotional strength as well, for the strength of a people rests not just in their bodies, but in their morale, and their very souls. To this, those who wish to honor The Great Protector must be a foundational anchor for the communities to which they oversee, a beacon of strength whom others may lean on, who keeps strong in the face of darkness. Overlooking the vast Marshes of old, a new temple rose to overlook a domain once lost. A shining beacon, a revival of power, one to honor the mighty Lord Dorabek. A grand and glistening structure marks a new era, and inside, a ritual took place to begin the great revival. Below the great inner chamber, a seating area housed two, Arvel Ahmoskhnum Tou, a younger, smaller dark elf who had constructed this monument to the God of Strength, and the dwarven high priest of Te-uth, Nebkhet-Sha. It was here that the high priest prepared a ritual for Ahmoskhnum, one to honor a God who's priesthood had nearly died out in these lands. The two entered with a determined resolve, Ahmoskhnum in particular had done much to honor Lord Dorabek, and if he was to respect the Lord of Crocodiles, he couldn't show any weakness in his conviction here. Ancient words were preached, sacrifices were offered, but it was this conviction to which Lord Dorabek truly cared for, and that would send the scholar and the protector to be into the void, as they traversed to the lands of the Gods, and the Domain of the Natural order. To meet with the Great Protector, however, was not a rushed endeavor, for his domain was vast and demanding, not just any could traverse the dangers that lie in wait. But the dwed and elf persisted, for their conviction in mind and spirit would match their resilience and their strength. Entering the domain of the Lord of Crocodiles saw the two placed in a vast valley oasis, one filled to the brim with much of what called the world home. But it was the Dorabekin, the crocodile, which reigned supreme, basking in the glory of the sun across the vast oasis. To approach the waters of the watchful without respect would be foolish, as hundreds of eyes now turned their gaze towards the unfamiliar pair, testing their resolve. But neither faltered. While the dwarf had been the one to initiate the ritual, Ahmoskhnum would be their guide from now on, not flinching to the test of resolve. He would not disrespect the Dorabekin, for it was they who were protecting their own waters, but he would not be dismayed from his course, carefully leading his companion down the banks until they reached an eventual clearing. It was here that a vast sea sprawled out before them, with a jutted stone outcropping rising above it. The blackened rock was not unattended either, as more Crocodile had chosen this place to bask in the sun. For it was here, they now had to test their strength, and reach the very top. The climb to the top was long and arduous, though the pair never lost their resolve. The dwarf was well experienced, having served the Gods for some time now, while the elf was filled with unwavering dedication, to protect those he has grown to care for, and to embody the strength of the God he wished to honor. It was here where their resolve was tested the most, the final leg of the journey, yet if found them unwavering. It would seem the last test before meeting the mighty Dorabek was one which the two Rah'muns were able to match. On reaching the top, Ahmoskhnum was prepared to advise patience, but before he even had the chance, a voice boomed out from behind the two, leading to both to bow. "You are persistent." Dorabek said as he rose from his throne, going to look out over his great oasis, "What drives your conviction? "I come to honor you, my lord." Ahmoskhnum raised his head, to speak with a determined conviction, moving to a kneel instead to maintain respect. "I wish to restore your priesthood, and to protect those for which I have grown to care for." "Long has my will been neglected, and my name near-forgotten. It is a great shame. But I know who you are, and I know of your deeds. I have seen the temple for which you honor my name." "And it is my honor to do so." The elf bowed his head once more. He'd turn to look down at the elf, "You have a strong will, and a heart of bronze. You have done well in my name, and as such, I shall grant you my boons. You shall carry it, but only through great effort shall you keep it." With that, a blinding light would briefly engulf the now chosen of Dorabek, imbuing him with the strength needed to keep his people safe. "Go now, and remember that actions speak louder than words." [Spirit Pact with Dorabek, lesser of Freygoth, 1/3]
