Plague. Damnit.

 

Thankfully, the island is mostly prepared with a functioning powered and sanitary hospital, newly furnished with medicines and vaccines recently traded to Havana by the group of Australians.

 

There are, of course, many who will die. By the orders of the king, however, they will die heroes. Those who are already doomed to death are being loaded onto ships by the dozen, about to be shipped to the Yucatan peninsula. Many have accepted their fates and burn with fervor to get back at the Aztec barbarians who shamelessly murdered their brothers, fathers, and sons. Once they reach the Yucatan peninsula, they will unload from the ships and march into the jungle, their mission to be captured by Aztecs and sacrificed in their cities to spread the plague to the savages. The ships will return to Nuevo Habana immediately after unloading. Godspeed to them all.

 

In other news, the army is halfway through being revamped into a modern killing machine. ((3 pages remaining))

The Council has issued a State of emergency due to the storm. Teams of Soldiers are dispatched with winter gear to warn people to stay in their homes and keep fires burning within to keep warm. While food is scarce Drinking Water is distributed as widely as it can. The Council and a large number of Staff and Officers lock down the Capital Compound with a store of food and water, Saddened as they were an order was given to distribute food to the more highly needed sections of the population where little to none is spread elsewhere.

 

Communications are cut off with the Army, they'll have to fend for themselves.

Soldiers are housed along with the population surrounding the center of Stalingrad to assist in keeping Order.

 

MOD REQUIRE ACTIONS

 

With the massive storm striking the battle field not only are the separate Companies cutoff from each other, but the smaller regiments that make up the companies are cutoff from communications as well. The soldiers follow their last received orders as they push on but not just because they were ordered too, survival is at stake for themselves now. A regiment discovers the trapped tanks of the rebels as they attack the men and crews attempting to take control of them and use them to create a defensive position as even immobile artillery can still fire. The Army would continue to push into the City before bunkering themselves down into defendable positions against their enemy...as well as mother nature herself. The Battle would continue in certain sections while others bunker down.

Sikh Confederacy

As winter set in, a bad harvest did too. The leader of the Sikh Confederacy, Makul Mamraj, considered calling off the entire war against the Kalat Empire, simply making peace. But Kabir Gajanan changed his mind. Kabir proposed one final offensive could knock the Kalat Empire out of the war. The offensive would strike out for the coast, along with the Kalat capitol of Karachi. Karachi had been harmed by flooding, but the Kalat Empire had worked to rebuilding the city. Kabir believed if he could take this along with a great swathe of land, the Kalat's would surrender. Taking the coast would also open up a whole new food source. Fish and seafood. By this, Makul was convinced he could win the war and feed his people at the same time. Makul Mamraj gave the green light on the offensive.

 

Kabir also had the element of surprise. He thought the Kalat Empire would not expect such an assault because of the bad harvest and because it was winter. The Kalat 4th Army and the Sikh 1st Army were also each back on the front, having recovered from the Battle of the Indus. The Sikh 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Armies would be facing off against 4 Kalat Armies, however one of them was exhausted from the previous battle, which is why the main thrust of the offensive would be against that army. 

 

The final battle in the Sikh-.Kalat War The leader of the Kalat Empire on the first day on the offensive called it a "Sikh Day" for his army.

 

The offensive opened with the Sikh 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Armies launching a brutal assault on the Kalat 1st, 2nd, and 4th Armies. The Kalat Armies that had suffered losses of both men and morale in the previous battle were quick to falter back to a defensive line that lied straight before Karachi itself. However the Kalat 4th Army was determined, and inflicted heavy casualties on the first Sikh assault. When the Kalat 3rd Army began chewing on the SIkh flank, the Sikh 1st Army seemed close to collapse.

 

But then a miracle came for the Sikh 1st Army, as the Sikh 3rd Army came crashing into the flank of the Kalat 4th Army. The Kalat troops still held their ground, but it was becoming increasingly difficult. But the killing blow for the Kalat armies was when the Sikh 2nd Army, the army that had proven to be the best in the war, took Karachi. By this point the Kalat 1st and 2nd Armies were in complete collapse, unable to hold the line. In a last ditch-effort, the Kalat 3rd Army stopped it's offensive on the Sikh 1st Army, and was transferred down south to try to mount a counter-offensive. But when word of Karachi's downfall and the movement of the Kalat 3rd Army reached the Kalat 4th Army, morale completely faltered, and soon they found themselves in retreat. 

 

As the Sikh 2nd and 3rd Armies now crashed through the remaining Kalat lines and reached the Indus river just north of Karachi with little to no resistance, the Kalat 4th Army retreated, and the desperate counter-attack by the Kalat 3rd Army failed miserably, the Kalat Empire had had enough. A treaty was signed, where the Sikh Confederacy demanded full annexation of the Kalat Empire. At first the Kalat's refused, but when Sikh troops resumed their advance, the Kalat leaders knew they had to accept to prevent further loss of lives. Makul looked onto a map of his new empire.

 

 

Now, the only enemy was starvation.

New Baltania:

The Winter has hit Baltania hard. Finland is cut off by sea to the rest of Baltania, and longer land routes must be taken to transport food. There isn't enough food in Finland, and many people starve. All crops grown are already equally distributed by the government, so commandeering more food is impossible. The Finnish people will just have to wait out the Winter.

The envoy to Sweden is obviously not coming back. Foul play is suspected, but Baltania gives diplomacy another chance. Radio towers are repaired all over Baltania, with a planned range of Scandinavia, Westen Russia, and Eastern Europe. ((4 pages.))

Wiring from the hydro power plant is being constructed to bring electricity to Latvia and Riga. ((3 pages.))

A zinc, iron, and silver mine are being set up to supply New Baltania with natural resources. ((4 pages.))

The Perruvians

 

The Perruvians are a chain of aboriginal tribes that advanced in the result of the great wars. They believe that it was an act of the gods, angered at the world for over advancement and greed. They once lived deep in the forests, and were secluded from all life, exluding the almost weekly town people coming to their tribe, bringing higher end goods. Near the end, the children began to learn from a teacher who traveled to their village every day, and not 6 months after her appearance, the Wars began, and subsequently ended.

 

This left the Perruvians clueless, and when party's were send to the town people's citys, and only death was found the decision was made to move farther away, and to the foot of the Andes mountains. Not only was this farther away, but it allowed them to pass through and pick up the things they needed to advance to being a real people, not just a number of random, loud, and useless fools. As the Perruvians passed through the cities, they picked up a number of weapons, around 50 handguns and 40 some AK-47's, as per the normal weapon of the police there. 

 

After arriving at their location years ago, the Perruvians picked up Spanish, and semi-modern technology, even though their culture is still largely based on primitive, forest gods. The lord of the Perruvians, Intuch-Zis-ElKanBun, is a man of his early 20's, in the prime of his life. He is a massive man and commands the entire defense force of around 10,000 normally trained men. Also under his command are the two elite sub groups. That of his hand selected personal guard and the best of the best, the jungler's. His personal guard is made up of 50 men, all of who are at the very least 7 feet tall, and incredibly strong and talented. The jungler's are an elite group of about 1000 men who are the top of the military, and are all very experienced in jungle and gorilla warfare.

 

The most recent of Elkanbun's orders are that of the need to farm. For more farming. Currenlty, their main problem is a lack of food and medicines which they need to grow. So, as to mandate it he orders all avalible men and woman to begin construction of more farms, potato's mainly.

New Haven's Rise

     Within the ancient, lost catacombs of the long-fallen city known best for its formerly outstanding ferris wheel and the entertaining qualities after the chaotic Chernobyl Disaster, Pripyat is now the primary hub of a new settlement within its crumbling walls: New Haven. Acting solely in the hopes for survival, the small community has scavenged what they can directly from the city's surface, its boarded up subways left untouched.

     Leader, Xanthur Touschnik, placed at the encampment's head, the Polissya Hotel's sixth floor, its confines lined with partially restored furnishing and equipment, including a to-this-point ancient Box Television, along side it a Foxhole Radio, has begun assigning tasks to the few capable engineers within the city ranging from vehicle repair, armament assembly, and reinforcing their current structures, to full-scale construction of outposts.

Encampment News:

     Chaos wreaks through the city's catacombs as the unusual Deep Freeze reaps away at unprepared citizens, their bodies frosting over with snow. The death toll progressively rising, 14 more denizens were killed after the catastrophic collapse of Pripyat's Grand Gymnasium, crushing supplies and people alike beneath its crumbling heap, including a pair of previously scavenged and repaired motor bikes.

Current Armament:

This is the primary armament: A modified nail gun built to fire both bent and straight nails, typically of the rust assortment. Although inaccurate in its current form, it has been found to embed the nails within its target, rather than allowing them to pass through. Although powerful, these weapons are known to malfunction at times, their barrels being jammed or even ripped off with previously fired nails.

Kingdom Ethiopia

 

 

Riots, chaos, yet clarity. As the uprising fought against the food consuming goverment, the organized defense force united and disabled the uprising. However, the vast Ethiopian population had issues already.

 

 

Haile showed no tolerance, and send 30,000 civillians and millitants to the crowd, having several casualties. The uprising was taken down. However, it left Haile with the impression that good faith won't bring order in his kingdom. After the uprising, Haile continued to create & rebuild. The wood he stored in his palace,while he made fires under the first cauldrons. The recipe would create alchohol, which can be great fuel for short distances. However, from the first day people sipped a bit out of the cauldron. When Helassie set guards.. they sipped some alchohol out of the cauldrons themselves. It was a problem that intervened, and the people did it on purpose to poke the goverment after the uprising a bit more.

 

The southern traders reach the Zulu after a tiring travel. However, the northern 2 still did not arrive. Haile was afraid that diseases would eventually spread. The clean state of his people turn worse everyday. He orders his men to dig a canal from the coast to the end of the city, so that the people could wash their clothes without issues. The digging would take a while, but there is nothing missing to make it impossible ((3 pages))

In response to the predicted shortage of food, it is asked that many farmers return to the closest of three major cities. They would ride out the winter there, living on the supply of grain left in stock. Coureurs de bois are also sent to look for game and nuts, and several hundred men begin to work as fishermen. Of course, some would starves, but hopefully most would make it out alive.

The Honshu Republic

 

 

The Chinese ships had been spotted hours prior by several patrol vessels , and the guard force was alerted. It appeared that the blood thirsty Dragon Dynasty wished to make contact with the Republic. Such would be the case, although it would be far more favorable for the Japanese. The unsuspecting opposition were mostly in wooden boats, with a couple in salvaged and rusted patrol craft. And the trade boats would be easy pickings.

 

As the Chinese boats neared the Japanese islands, a detachment of heavily armed patrol vessels move into intercept them. As they slow to a halt, the patrol crafts open fire with mounted guns and an assortment of conventional gunnery. Within minutes, the military escort is slaughtered, with some only able to fire off a few rounds before being riddle with bullets. The gunfire comes to a smokey stop, and as the air clears, the scene before them is gruesome. Most of those aboard the boats were either dead, or severely injured. A few sailors board the ships and sift through the deceased crew's items, taking things of interest. The merchant ship is of particular interest, and its goods are taken aboard the Honshu's boats. None of the Chinese crew would have had radios for such a long distance, and if they did, the raid would have been too quick to respond to. To remove any evidence of the event, the salvaged patrol boats are towed away for scrap, while the Junks are set ablaze and left to disintegrate.

With Honshu aid, the Taiwanese battle for the elimination of Western Taiwan goes well, with minimal casualties.Within weeks the west surrenders to the superior armed forces of the Honshu and Eastern Taiwan. With the defeat of Western Taiwan, the Honshu Republic extends an invitation for Taiwan to join under the Republic. Current officials would be kept, with the added benefit of protection by the Honshu's militant forces.

 

Vessels are sent to the Philippines and the middle of northern Australia, and colonies are established. The Philippines would serve more as a way to open trade farther west, however industrialization of the region has been put into motion. While explorers relieve bunkers of their valuable resources, workers begin to construct factories. The factories are expected to be finished within half a year [2 pages], and will be powered by the coal from New Guinea and the Australian mines.

 

The colonies in northern Australia border the Indonesian's and soon explorers come across the Republic of the Outback. Tensions appear high as the Outback appears to wish to drive out the colonizers. The Honshu would likely take hostile action if further attempts are made. Mining and drilling operations are set up, and will take half a year. From this outpost of sorts, the Honshu would be able to maintain contact with the Australian Confederacy, and to oversee mining and drilling operations within Confederacy territory.

 

In Korea, hunting parties continue to take action against the savages that run free in Korea, in hopes of both removing a nuisance and keeping relations with the Korean civilization well.

Several months later, the food reduction of food production is noticed, although its impact is largely wavered due to the advanced agriculture and stockpiles of food. The fishing industry gains traction after the lower production of harvested crops as the potential of possible failures could lead to a dependency on a strong sea based food reliance. Months proceeding this event, the earthquake sends minor trembles in Japan, and New Guinean mines are temporarily shutdown in case of cave in's. Shortly after, the typhoons develops. Trade will likely be disrupted for several weeks, and flooding in lower lying regions are expected. On a side note, engineers put forth a proposal for some sort of sea wall to possibly be built in the coming years to combat flooding.

Highlands Tribe

The bad harvest in the highlands is almost unnoticed, due to all the land they own much more food was made anyway then what could be eaten by the small population, and only the foolish dies. 

 

Meanwhile a breakthrough is made in the attempt to find a way to "kill the cloud."
A old book which tells of "radioactivity" is found. King George reads through it the best he can, it is now known that the gods, and the reason why the scouts was hurt is due to massive radioactivity.
The book explained about different kind of radioactivity it is unknown though, which kind that the cloud attacks with. It is also told in the book that a few materials is so called "anti radioactive," but the location of this material  in unknown, but it is believed that it might be somewhere in a old facility.

Engineers may have found a way to boost the signal, and is working hard on it.

HORNED MEN OF ICELAND

 

The winter hits hard for Iceland, but not for this Tribe. They could trace their origins since the Ruin, and had lived through harsher winters than this. Even so however, many young and old die, but the Tribe still lives, because of the hot, unquenchable springs of the Blue Lagoon. Life must continue in the freezing cold however - even if this winter isn't the worst, it is still the longest. Loggers cut for fuel for the furnaces, whilst smiths work hard to turn the scrap metal found before the winter into weaponry and other tools. Much is kept in reserve for a larger project however.

 

 

The tribe needed to go through an industrialization. To do so, the Queen and her advisers think that an extremely risky thing must be done. They believe the only thing hot enough to make the perfect metal is that of the molten rock inside one of the various volcanoes throughout Iceland. It will also be a way to reinstate the Geothermal powering that Iceland used to own, thus giving electricity to the tribe. Research and construction begins on the factories. ((6 pages - this might also trigger an eruption, may not work AT ALL or work smoothly. Mods, feel free to intervene))

 

The longboats from the attack are put to use, aswell as the Tribe's own ships. The fronts are reinforced with sharp metal, forged at an angle to go under the ice and break it as the ship goes up a wave. Men and women leave their families and get ready to set sail for the other two islands created after the Ruin. The teenagers and unfit to fight will be the ones looking after the tribe, but they have been trained as warriors since birth. Their goal - to locate any other tribes and unite them to the Horned Men. Should they disagree, they will be given orders to unite them by force, and so weapons and guns are also stocked onto the boats. All men possible will be sent, and as they are the largest tribe that they have come into contact with, they hope the smaller ones will bow down without bloodshed. They also go wearing intimidating but ceremonial armor, and take their tamed beasts with them.

 

They also think that it will be easier to convince them due to the freezing temperatures, and the low chance of survival without the hot spas of the Blue Lagoon.

Kingdom of Ethiopia

 

Change was the idea, especially after the uprising. The Ethiopian people did not feel satisfied with what they currently have, and are eager to find new souls after the northern caravan returns from the Nakhar Tribe. Progress was made, on basicly all aspects of Ethiopia. It was not a secret that Haile had opposers, and the riots didn't really stop. However, the Ethiopians knew that if they fight their destiny, it will result to death. However, Haile Selassie had increasing interest in the past.

 

The first big news was, that the crazy machine of the goverment worked! The first cups of this magical liquid, or named by Haile as

"Alcohol" are being poured in the transport tanks with currently empty tanks. The increase of the production goes slow, and more grain is necessary.. But with the current state of the farms it seems that it would take a while before the process can be called 'production'.

 

Meanwhile, the salvaging in the untouched or 'dark side' of Addis Ababa has been succesful so far. The goverment found something strange. It was a circular object flat.. It was a box with still a seal on it. Once blowing off the dust it said

"Eurovision 2065 in Belgrade". They opened the circular box, only to find a mostly intact LP. They saw this several times in Addis, but never payed attention to it. Most LP's who were played on manual powered LP players often seemed damaged. However, this one seemed mostly intact. Haile Selassie played it on its own, unused manual powered LP player. Hearing many different languages and melodies. Without knowing, the door behind his was crowded with silent guards and visitors listening to these wonderful tunes.It was almost inspirational.. But that was not the only thing salvaged. The salvage teams found an old windmill in the farming fields. The monsterous object first scared the farmers, especially after one became electrocuted after standing in the water with the mill's two broken cables in it. This small power source could be used for future endevours.

 

 

The coastal area of Addis Ababa was used for the first time. An old rusty boat, being leight weight and cozy. Fell victim to the crazy attempts of the Ethiopian goverment. The boat is being salvaged, remade with sails & storage chambers. It will afterwards be send to the south of the coast. ((1 pages)).

 

Hunger in Ethiopia is not a dominant factor. Rationing, no fatigue & a smaller population made sure they could live through. Major work stopped, and Helassie has doubts if he should enjoy the virgins he had received or not. The population went down from 160,000 to 140,000 over time. Contact to the old USSR & Asian countries are being made, but the old radio tower first sends a radio message is send to Pripyat , Moscow & Novograd, believing that these will be populated.

The New Norwegian Kingdom

Cold. The extreme winter hit Norway hard. Although being over the Arctic Circle and used to cold, the population didn't see these winters often. Fortunately most food came from fish, which was in abundance and had been stockpiled to last for about 2 months ((1 page)), so the major hazard was the extreme temperatures. People were huddled inside their stone and wood homes, brick fireplaces burning furiously to keep the heat. The streets were snowed in, and although Royal soldiers are deployed to try and keep the streets somewhat cleared and people safe, it just keeps snowing. 

Upon drilling in the ice, it is found to be more than a meter thick, and is thus safe to walk on or even drive trucks, although the Kingdom possesses few trucks. However, the sea further out by the rig is not frozen properly, and King Olav VI orders to retry repairing the rig again, with the new deep-sea chamber out of steel traded with the Bismarck city and strenghtened in the capital. The equipment is transported to the edge of the ice by being dragged on sleighs and carriages by horses. At the edge, they meet with a trawler that had been left unfrozen outside the bay, and the equipment was loaded on board before they sailed towards the rig again. There they dive down, and after some assessment of the drill deep down, they return to the surface and report what will be needed for the repair and discuss how to go about it. It is concluded it will be a lengthy process because of lack of some materials and having to trod about carefully with the old rig and new diving technology, and will take approximately a year ((6 pages. Also, I got mod approval for fixing the rig but taking a year, so it's legit :P))

More men are being sent to the San Fernando colony to ensure that farmlands are ready for when the Spring comes. It is assumed that a large portion of the original settlers died due to disease and hunger. The land in the area is also being tested for coal and iron deposits.

 

Having heard of the strait between the continents in Panama, the three metal frigates are to be sent with four sloop support vessels to hold the area and establish a base of operations on the northern peninsula.

 

Fishing operations continue to be prioritized, and the plague is slowly being beaten back, all but for a resurgence caused by the return of the sailors who participated in the Yucatan mission. ((3 pages))

 

The fortress of La Cabaña is being repaired to better protect Nueva Habana's harbor and the city itself. Cannons are being forged and the structure repaired with stone and mortar. ((4 pages))

Empire of the Dragon

Word still hadn't come back from the diplomat sent to the Republic, and Su'Zu assume he was prolonging the stay. The winter had arrived, and as predicted many died from the cold. Thanks to the saved up food however, the Empire was well fed but freezing. Not much went on, but the Imperial Gunnery school and arms manufactory proceeded as planned. The militia and Imperial army had time to train in earnest with not much farming to be done. The militia went on from weapons training to basic group formations and movements.

 

Lumber was sent to the Wu province, and they were to start making Junks in dry docks. The Imperial Engineers and woodworkers started working on making the basic catapults and ballista of medieval times.

 

Outriders are sent north to look for libraries containing information of more capable war machines, along to look for any large kingdoms or groups.
