I now see why I stopped playing around the end of 2013, I hope that curve goes down guyzes. I want to play but don't want the butt-hats to deal with. Good work btw, very interesting information

@Adelmar

Before PvP default there were number of reports shared between PvP & RP… though PvP reports were still the majority. With the change to PvP default, the x number of reports increased, the amount of RP reports decreased, however, they were replaced by PvP reports. So the problem of 'OOC drama' and 'endless BRs' was not solved by PvP-default as it was supposed to...

You all lack the amount of modreqs the GMs had to deal with under RP default. I'll be frank though, I could honestly not care what default is used so long as RP purists know the human body well enough from participating in sports and turning away from cartoonish mediums. I sat in an RP fight for two hours in one sitting and I really don't want pressure ulcers on my buttocks.

Instead of finding out what happened in March of last year, I would prefer to find out what happened in July. What made everyone so apparently relaxed?

I can only amount to it to being the fact that have the exodus happened, Mog was removed and there was a general sense of shock among the community. People were probably too busy either leaving or trying to keep their friends close and not really worrying about BR's. At that point the community was anything but relaxed which is ironic seeing as it is a lull in BR output.

Prior to the Exodus, we had a 3 month low of a consistent 11 reports a month total. Then we hit the chaos of arriving in Anthos, and then we have the chaos of the temporary server, which is in part due to the fact that wandering souls could go around PvPing people there, and then you get back to pre-RP Default.

So, the question should be more like: Why was Anthos so stable during those three months?

Asulon. He started the no-RP killing spree in Alras.

To be accurate, masterfawkes was actually the first pugsier.

Giving credit where it is due. Very few people remember the golden age of LOTC, much less who I was and the things I did.

Never the less here is the VIDEO of the first "Pugsy" incident.

Nah. There were guys before him, they just weren't as famous.

Anyway, the reason why there was such a huge amount of reports in 2011 is that there wasn't really a followed format and it was extremely easy to get accepted back then so you had hordes of noobs putting up ban reports with no good reason or proof. Now applications standards are very high and there is a format and apps that don't follow it get locked. I bet that the vast majority of those early Aegis ban reports weren't accepted.

If that was a Pugsy, I'd call that a memorable one.

And people said Rp default would've had more BR's.

This makes sense... I bring this up every time I talk about pvp-default vs rp-default, but why must pvp be the default combat system on a roleplay server? If someone isn't patient enough to rp fight, then why are they on the server in the first place...?

b/c this is minecraft, Having a two hour type fest and power gaming fest isnt any fun. PVP is part of the minecraft medium. AKA it was deemed most fair by the GM's/Admin team (s)

Meh... I agree that some people don't want to sit there typing for two hours... but first of all, I don't ever think I've ever been in an RP-fight situation that was dragged out to that extent. And secondly, IMO I feel pvp is not fair because let's face it... people with sucky PC's can't pvp. I had to play on a PC for a few months where I got no more than 8 fps (With optifine installed.) , and I couldn't ever really hit someone. The computer I normally use though is really great, as I average atleast 300 fps with optifine, 120 without optifine. Even then, I still do bad sometimes. And people can do something equal to power-gaming, in pvp. It's called hacking. People can hack on LotC easily and not get caught, as it's pretty hard to determine if someone is using kill-aura or something like that. I myself don't hack, but I know some people are hacking on LotC as of now.

Did you just say its hard to determine if someone uses kill-aura? You mean that no one will notice that they are killing just as many allies as enemies and that they are hitting people standing out of sight? No knockback, another OP as **** hack, is extremely easy to notice because they'll never fly back when you sprint-hit them. Lockview I'm not sure about. No-fire is obvious when you use a firesword or lava trap. Most PVP hacks are a million miles away from subtle.
